Why is TO rated so low in Dynasty leagues? I understand he is older, but after reading the thread about weighting Dynasty players by 50% 2007, 33% 2008, and 17% 2009 (I thought it was a good method) it seems he should be much higher than the FBG projections...is it because his situation is always somewhat unstable?

He keeps himself in really good shape but he does have nagging injuries and that is not to mention his EGO problems.

I think FBG routinely rates TO too low in dynasty leagues. He's just not that old and he keeps himself in very good shape. Unless we're projecting five years out (when I bet he'll still be playing at a high level, but I can certainly see an argument that he won't be), he's rated too low.

Owens will have 1,200-1,500 yds and 12-15 TDs this season...and next season...and the year after. Who is ahead of him exactly?
Agreed. TO is show zero signs of slowing down. Last year he had a finger injury--in no way a sign of old age. He is in better shape than most receivers 5 or 10 years younger than him. He is a physical freak. I expect top five production the next two years, and at least top 15 or 20 production for at least two years after that.

TO's not just underrated on FBGs, he's underrated by the community as a whole. Got TO at 5.08 in a 10-team initial dynasty draft (15th WR off the board, as my WR3 :banned: ). I'm only counting on one or two great years out of him, but oh, what a great two years those are going to be, and he should still be a solid WR3 after that.

The age is definitely a concern, but at the very, very least, he should be able to produce as a very strong WR1 this year, a very strong WR2 next year, and a very strong WR3 the year after that.

TO and Marvin were sick value last year and this year in dynasty drafts.

They just keep going and going and going.

But seriously, I never draft for 5 years out...always think 2-3 years and you can build through trades, waiver wire p/u's and rookie/FA drafts. The key to a dynasty is staying active with trades and FA pick up's and scouting players properly.

Age is way overrated. Give me studs who are great players and stay in shape. Especially WR's. They age much differently than RB's.

The fact that he's only played 16 games in 2 out of the last 8 seasons has a little bit to do with it as well. He's also only 1 season away from his total meltdown in Philly likely making some people still wary of owning him. Guy is a PPG monster, but how many games are you going to get between injuries and head case explosions?

I would agree that if you are a team trying to win it all, he seems a great buy low for short-term 1-2 maybe even 3 years production.
