All year long Ray Rice has been listed as a top 10, sometimes top 5 option in weekly projections, by just about every fantasy football expert who makes them. For most of the year he has underachieved.

Today he divided carries almost evenly with Willis McGahee. And McGahee got the goal line carries. On crucial drives in the 3rd quarter, Rice wasn't even in there. And he is not being thrown to, which for PPR leagues was also a main reason for his high ranking.

What's your guess as to the rest of the year? Is it time to simply declare him hit and miss, and no longer a viable every week RB1 option? Or is today an anomaly? Make a prediction.

whatever the case, i'm fed up with him. my better judgment said never take a back that doesn't get goal-line carries but he was the sexy pick at #3. never again.

i voted no, but i am nervous. the lack of receptions is a major concern.
When they added Boldin, a few people expressed concerns that this might happen. I didn't- I figured that throwing to Rice was such a main part of the offense they'd be idiots to get rid of it. That was really the main reason I was willing to overlook the lack of GL carries, because I am in a PPR league. But there's no doubting it now. Flacco just does not look his way.

I really feel like the coaching staff is forcing the passing game. Before they fell behind, Flacco was throwing the ball. After they fell behind, Flacco was throwing the ball. Their offense doesn't resemble last year's. With that said, Rice doesn't appear to be dominating with the carries he does have. I can't really blame the Ravens for integrating McGahee, who has been pretty productive. But if pass plays are going to double Rice's running plays, he's is not going to be reliable week to week. Sucks.

Wk5 - 27 carries, 4 recs

Wk6 - 28 carries, 8 recs

Wk7 - 16 carries, 1 rec?

(Rotoworld) Ray Rice ran for 72 yards on 16 carries and caught a one-yard pass in the Ravens' Week 7 win over the Bills.

Analysis: The Ravens' coaching staff appeared to take Buffalo somewhat non-seriously, not starting their best tailback (Willis McGahee got the nod) and using Rice and McGahee in an even rotation. Heading into the Week 8 bye, the Ravens' goal-line back job is once again up for grabs as Willis McGahee scored from two yards out in the third quarter Sunday. Rice's stint as Baltimore's go-to guy in goal-to-go situations appears to have proved short lived.

From their perspective, they probably want to save Rice for the end of the year. The AFC is tough this year...16 carries is not full blown rbbc.
