Tampa got skunked due to loss of starting guards (1 Viewer)

Any news on when they get these guys back? They are going to do zip (like the Packers) if they don't get someone in there that can block.

Guards are easy to replace. Whoever said that was an idiot!!!

Someone, on some thread around here, said that one of them should be back for week 2 and the other (hopefully) for week 3.

Can't get a much more unconfirmed or unreliable source than that. :bag:

From The Tampa Tribune:Link

Starting right guard Davin Joseph will miss his second straight game with a sprained knee.

Joseph was injured during practice last week, but Coach Jon Gruden is hopeful Joseph could return after the Bucs bye week, which is at the end of the month.

If the rookie guard remains on that timetable, he would make his NFL debut against New Orleans on Oct. 8.

Gruden is also confident starting left guard Dan Buenning will be able to play against Atlanta. The team expects Buenning, who has been bothered by a sprained ankle, to practice Wednesday.

As for the back spasms that bothered Cadillac Williams in Sunday’s game, Gruden said he doesn’t think they will be a problem this week. But it’s an injury that kept Williams out of the beginning of training camp.

“Anything that happens to Cadillac is a concern,” Gruden said.

Just saw in the news that Joseph might be back weeks 2. I don't know anything about the other guard.

That was me...the "word around town" is Joseph is out until after the Week 4 bye. We'll know more about Buenning by late week.

FYI...in today's press conference (video on TBO.com), Gruden said that Buenning will be back this week and Joseph will not.

That would be your fault for drafting a severely overrated #2 receiver this year in a spread WCO.Not sure how the loss of guards definitively makes him more or less valuable than he already is.

I am hearing Joseph may not be back until after the bye.

Galloway will probably be covered by Hall, so I think Clayton may get more looks. But, it's a toss up.
