I've been looking for info on his "unspecified" injury, and can't find any. Anyone here know anything?

I wish they would be a little more specific.

If nobody knows what incident/event caused this, might this be the dreaded non-contact injury?

I think the injury Gooden has is a non issue. Gooden has no value this year anyways, and this injury should not have any bearing on him long-term.

That's true, but I would like to see him get some preseason action so we all can have a preview to how he might perform in '09 and beyond. Plus if the Ravens like what they see, they won't draft another LB to compete for Ray Lewis' spot once he retires.
