TE Brock Bowers, LV (4 Viewers)

should be very telling against a tough defense

What will be very telling?

If they get him the ball now that Meyers is gone. Gotta imagine BB will be even more the main focus of defenses
I seriously doubt Meyers took much coverage if any away from Bowers. Not like he's Ja'Mar Chase.

Geno should be smart enough to target him heavily. Will Chip be smart enough to keep calling plays for him? That's my concern

He’s gonna have some big games a la last week. But the Raiders are stubbornly trying to establish Jeanty and the running game, so I don’t think it’s gonna be like last year where he’s averaging 8-9 targets.

No one left to fear on this offense. Bowers will be getting smothered in coverage until one of the WRs, Jeanty, or a mobile QB makes them pay. Not great management to trade Meyers when he was already pissed off. Just let him finish the year out.

Maybe it's not Geno's fault or Carroll's fault. Maybe Denver's D is just that good. Remember what Jake Ferguson, the then #1 (and still #2) TE in fantasy did against Denver? 0/0/0.
Yeah for anyone that watched it should be clear that it was the pressure that killed everything on the offense. The run game was holding it at bay a bit in the first half, but once Powers-Johnson went out that was not working either.

Denver is very good, maybe best D in the league. But to barely target your best weapon while the other side is missing their best CB... come on! Plus with all the fix actions going on in sports I have zero trust that it was an honest effort

Yep Denver's defense is legit, but it didn't stop Nico from getting 7 catches or Dalton Schultz getting 6 with Davis Mills tossing the rock for 3 qtrs the Sunday prior. Raiders game plan stunk

All I can say is denver blitzed the crap out of the raiders last night and the raiders had no answer. Sometimes it's just a mismatch not in your favor that you can't do much to gameplan out of (although their initial game plan of running and controlling the clock looked like it was working ok for 1.5 quarters).

I would not be that worried as a Bowers owner or worry too much about finding blame. It was just a crappy night for the raiders.

Not only did their game plan stink, Carroll is a flat out liar! Did anyone else see Bowers coming out in red zone situations? I was like WTF?! Taking your best pass catching weapon out of the game in scoring situations?! Yeah, their game plan was an epic fail. Carroll needs to retire.

Raiders O fell apart after their best lineman last night - Jackson Powers-Johnson, who bulldozed a block for Jeanty to get in the EZ - came out with an ankle sprain, which has been diagnosed as an 'out a while' issue. Ironically, JPJ has had an up and down season, after being at odds with the coaching staff since preseason, but was having a helluva game, finally. After he came out, the OL absolutely stunk - and so too did the Raiders offense. Raiders have fairly to severely immobile QBs, and a putrid OL. That is not a recipe for success for any of their fantasy parts.

IMO, there’s no excuse to not be using Bowers like Puka and forcing him the ball on quick passes.
I'm not trying to make a hot take or disrespect Puka but I honestly think you could throw Bowers in that Rams offense and he could almost everything Puka could do and some things better. That's why I believe McVay tried to trade up for him, also why I believe one day with the right coach that Bowers could break fantasy, especially in a TEP format.

Denver D is extremely tough but he was more productive last year then they threw Surtain on him. To your point there is no way McVay would have failed to scheme a guy like Puka a lot of touches. There is just no excuse for this kind of game, not when your offense is doing this poorly and he's so easy to scheme because of his YAC ability.

Chip needs to go back to college, a lot of good openings, and they need to force Carroll to fire his son at the end the season or he can go as well.
