TE Dallas Goedert, PHI (3 Viewers)

9 targets, 7 rec, 75 yards, TD

Now that’s what I’m talking about! Two nice games in a row now. And he should have had a 2nd TD and about 30 more yards to clear 100 if Wentz doesn’t grossly under throw him.

Wentz is all out of sorts and looks terrible, but at least he is locked into our guy as his main target the last two games. Ertz is washed. Not worried about his return. Assuming they stick with Wentz, Dallas looks like a nice asset to have down the stretch here.

Ertz would take the Richard Rodgers spot anyway. Room for both.

Dallas Goedert caught 7-of-10 targets for 75 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles' Week 12 loss to the Seahawks.

He was the lone bright spot for the Eagles, but even his night wasn't perfect, as one could put some of the blame on Goedert for Carson Wentz's end-zone interception. The two didn't appear to be on the same page with the coverage. But Goedert did secure a three-yard touchdown earlier in the night to give the Eagles some perceived momentum headed into halftime. It amounted to nothing. Goedert has drawn 22 targets over the last three weeks and has scored in back-to-back games. Zach Ertz is expected back any moment now, but Goedert has to remain the go-to tight end. He'll be a top-end TE1 for Week 13 against the Packers.

What do you all think Hurts will do for Goedart's value?   Does anyone know where to find the % of snaps and targets split between when Wentz was playing and when Hurts played?  I'd be surprised if his value did anything but go down.

Scrolled through the game log, he went 1/6 on 2 targets out of 12 throws with Hurts. He played 52 snaps total which appears to be all of them.

I don’t see any way it doesn’t hurt him short term. Long term if it’s Hurts you hope for a situation like Lamar Jackson where the LBs sucking up to stop the Qb run threat make him an effective thrower to the TE over the middle.

I wouldn’t be so sure that it definitely hurts Goedert’s role, even in the short term. I’ll reserve judgement until I see more of what Hurts has to offer- if he is in fact starting. In my opinion, the offense can’t look much worse than it has the past few weeks. I actually think Hurts will give the offense in general a shot in the arm and might help all offensive assets (Miles Sanders included). This situation will have my attention, that’s for sure, as I own Hurts in my main dynasty league.

Given week 14 is an elimination game for most playing, does anyone have the stones to put him out there this week? Terrible matchup and seems super risky with Hurts starting? Would you guys bench him for lesser options like Gesicki or Fant?

Any Iggle fans have insight as to how Hurts looked?

Not an Eagles fan, but watched most of the game once Hurts was in.  He looked like a QB that wanted to run on every pass play.  I don't have a better option than Goedert, so I'm likely rolling him out there.  There's downside for sure, but honestly it can't get much worse than how Wentz has looked despite Goedert putting up respectable numbers.  I'm hoping that Hurts improvising a bit provides more opportunities for big plays than Wentz chucking ducks and taking sacks did.

Well, time to revisit the TE position. I see Goedert falling a tad because of Hurts uncertainty I am sure. Gesicki and L Thomas and even Hurst on the radar. Not sure if it's an upgrade or not. Seems like Gesicki and Thomas on the rise. Sure was a connection Smith to Thomas last week. Momentum building... Goedert hmmm...

I'll go with him over Reed. Don't like it, but hopefully Hurts looks for a security blanket. Goedert has the talent to produce, so we can hope it translates on the field.

I’m hopeful that Hurts can get the offense moving in general the next few weeks at the helm ( if he’s given that much). I need the values of both Goedert and Miles Sanders to remain solid or maybe even bounce back (mores so Miles) heading into the off season.

Stuck between goedart and tonyan. I want to start goedart but just looking back jalen hurts targeted a tight end only once last week and it was ertz. That scares me a lot

Goedert kinda scares me too. Logan Thomas sitting on the FA staring at me coming off biggest game of his career. It's more then chasing points, it's going with the chemistry and connection that was so apparent in the last game. Gibson was absent too.

What chemistry does Hurts have with anyone and he most likely will be limited in passing numbers overall.

IDK - something feels amiss here with Goedert.

Debating Akins with Fuller and Cooks no longer playing, figure Watson may lean on his TE a bit more against the Bears.  But that decision would also feel gross as Akins has just as much 1-2 catch downside as Goedert does.

Got him in 3 leagues, have similiar concerns as everyone else, soooooooooooo

Tonyan over Goedert

Hockenson over Goedert

Engram and Tonyan(Flex) over Goedert

debating thomas and goedert myself.  I think that goedert's ceiling is fairly limited between the defense and ertz and the new qb.

but in some ways he feels safer considering his rep and SF not giving up many fantasy points to TE.  Trying to figure out if thereis something else for WSH to exploit today.

I'm going with the hot hand Logan Thomas over Dallas Goedert. It's a gut thing and I know SF is solid against TE's.

Edit: I am holding Goedert for now and wishing him well in the new system. In other words I hope he plays well and even scores sitting on my bench.

Goedert, Thomas, and Gesicki are all hovering around the same. I feel good about both the ladder. Who do you like better between Thomas and Gesicki? Close calls, eh.
I am further down on Goedert than the other 2. I think this move to Hurts is bad for him, especially this week. I like Gesecki over LT, but it’s mainly just a volume play as I think Miami is going to be very reluctantly throwing all game

Not liking what I saw today.  Hurts is a better QB for Phi.  But he rather tuck and run than throw to TEs.  I stashed Tonyan during my first round bye and will use him in week 15.  At least with Rodgers there’s a chance at a TD.

Today was about what I expected.  Probably rolling with Goedart going forward if I can hang on for the win this week.  Alternatives of Cox, Schultz, Arnold, Kmet just aren't better, although you have to admit Arnold is making it interesting, but he can't score every week while averaging 2 catches.

The Athletic's Zach Berman said Dallas Goedert will be "featured" in head coach Nick Sirianni's offense this season.

Zach Ertz is as good as gone from Philadelphia, leaving Goedert as the unquestioned No. 1 tight end in a system that has been friendly to the position. Goedert in 2020 ran 29.27 pass routes per game to Ertz's 33 routes per game. Ertz drew four more targets than Goedert. In five games without Ertz, Goedert saw 6.6 targets per game, which would work out to 112 targets over a 17-game season. Of the tight ends going after Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Darren Waller, and Kyle Pitts, Goedert and T.J. Hockenson have the best chance of finishing as top-3 at the position this year. Goedert and DeVonta Smith could make for a narrow target distribution in Philadelphia this season.

This article highlights Goedert being a better player than TJ Hockenson.  Is that the concensus amongst this community?  Asking because he seems to be behind Hock in every pre-season ranking I've seen.  Generally, rankings go somewhere like...

Kelce

Kittle

Waller

Hock/Pitts

Andrews

Fant

Goedert

While I think Dallas Goedert can jump Andrews, Fant and possibly year 1 - Kyle Pitts - I don't see him as a better player than the big 3 and I see Hockenson nipping at the heels of the Kittle/Waller value.  No?

I think 80% of the Goedert hype is purely based on "if Ertz leaves, he can be what Ertz was 2-3 years ago, which is a PPR machine".  Some of the shine is definitely gone though with Wentz out the door.

No chance I'd have him above Hock though.  Definitely the big 3 and Hock ahead of him, and he's in that Fant/Andrews tier for me.  If he finished anywhere between TE5 and TE9 I wouldn't be shocked.

You talking real life or fantasy? If we are talking fantasy then Hock easily because Goedert has Jalen Hurts throwing to him. If we are talking real life I think Goedert is a better player and it's all a subjective opinion of course but I just think he has more play strength.

You might be able to make a case that Goedert is a better all around TE than Hock right now because he has more experience, and TE is a position where experience helps,  but I doubt that there are very many NFL GM's that would take Goedert over Hock if they had their choice between the two.

Dallas Goedert caught 4-of-5 balls for 42 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia's Week 1 win over Atlanta.

Goedert's touchdown catch was impressive as he sprawled out for a low ball that Jalen Hurts threw on the run with just two seconds left in the half. It was one of three red zone targets that Godert collected on the day. Combine that with Goedert out-snapping Zach Ertz and Goedert should firmly remain on the TE1 radar for Week 2's matchup against the 49ers.

Dallas Goedert caught 2-of-4 targets for 66 yards in the Eagles' Week 3 loss to the Cowboys.

Goedert actually led the Eagles in receiving in this one, but was out-targeted 7-4 by teammate Zach Ertz, who posted a 4-53-1 line. Goedert's four targets were tied for fourth on the team. He has just eight catches through three games and is more of a TE2 with Ertz healthy and still on the roster. Goedert gets a date with the Chiefs in Week 4.

He had a couple good gains that got called back by penalty. I think the Eagles got *another* holding call against them when we were sleeping.

Dallas Goedert caught five passes for 56 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Chiefs.

Goedert had a second touchdown called back on a penalty.  He saw fewer targets than Zach Ertz (8) for the second straight week, but Goedert was more involved in the red-zone, with his touchdown coming on a three-yard throw from Jalen Hurts. Goedert's upside is capped with Ertz healthy, but he's looked like the Eagles' top red-zone target. Goedert would be a locked-in TE1 if the Eagles move Ertz at the trade deadline later this month.

Dallas Godert caught 2-of-3 targets for 28 yards in the Eagles' Week 5 win over the Panthers.

Goedert is splitting time with Zach Ertz and despite looking like the more explosive tight end on the Eagles' roster, Ertz continues to out-target him. Ertz saw six looks in the passing game this week. Goedert has yet to see more than five targets in a game this year. As long as Ertz is in the picture, Goedert will remain an underutilized TE2.

Eagles placed Dallas Goedert on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

This leaves Goedert very little time to twice test negative for the virus before Thursday night's game against the Bucs. Fantasy managers should assume he'll be sidelined for Week 6, leaving Zach Ertz as the team's primary pass-catching tight end. Ertz through five games has a 15 percent targets share, 4 percent higher than Goedert's. Ertz could be in line for double digit targets in what will be a pass-heavy game script for the Eagles on Thursday night. Ertz is the week's top tight end waiver wire pickup.

As a guy who drafted Goedert his rookie year in the 10th round of a dynasty startup, the PHI TE spot is finally, at long last, all his for the taking.

Do you think he can stay healthy and ascend to that top 5-6 / next tier of TEs that matters?   If the answer is no, then this is probably the time to sell high.   I'm planning to hold and hoping this becomes as lucrative as I dreamed years ago, but I have to admit that I'm a bit more skeptical of Goedert's stud fantasy TE potential than I once was.

Always dreamed of an Ertz trade coming at a point when Goedert was killing it and making a clear statement that he needed to be fed the football.  Instead he's on the covid list after a string of middling fantasy performances.   Hopefully this proves to be the turning point.

I've thought all year that the 'Ertz first' role was aimed at increasing his trade value. I'm hoping. If not, they probably should have traded Goedert, kept Ertz and looked elsewhere for their TE future..

I'd probably consider Goedert a mid-tier TE1 going forward. Say TE7 or so.
From a dynasty perspective I'd say that's about right.  Kelce Waller Pitts Kittle Andrews Hock Fant all above him for me so that makes Goedert the TE8.  Maybe Knox continues to climb and knocks Goedert down a peg too, but somewhere in that TE6-9 teir feels right.

RoS in redraft I'd probably have him as TE10, with Knox and Gronk (assuming he's back in the next 1-2 weeks) above him.

Same here, drafted him in his rookie year.. but in the meantime, drafted Waller and since then he's my TE1. What would be a fair trade value in exchange for Goedert?

Not sure if I'm going to sell because Goedert can now deliver great value in the Flex spot, but, at least I have to think about it.

Any news on Goedert????

I looked a bit ago and didn't see one iota of news come out on any Philly player.

I think hes definitely a top 10 guy from here on out, and hopefully he is back for this week's game.

I’m intrigued as well. He’s on my wire and would be a great Waller replacement next week. Or possible flex play every week if he starts eating targets and Hurts can throw the ball more betterer.

He shouldn't be on the wire.  I'm guessing he was dropped because of the Covid status.   I nabbed him immediately when I noticed he was sitting there. (Dropped Schultz because of bye, and saw Goedert.......UPGRADE!)

I guess we will get some news out from Philly on his status, but the early word last week was he should be ready this week to go.   But I have seen or heard exactly nothing.  In fact, I don't think ANY reports have come out of Philly in the last few days.  I'd assume we hear something tonight or tomorrow, but I'd like to start making alternate plans if he isn't healthy.

Just looked.

He was dropped September 30th for Dawson Knox and hasn’t been touched since.

Get ready to be bombarded by the Schultz truthers for dropping him.

He tested positive but is vaccinated so only needs 2 negative tests 24 hours apart to be good to go.. Haven't heard anything from team or beat reporters on his status.

Dropped for H. Henry last week.  Am also picking him up for Waller's bye but probably will play them both this week.
