TE Dalton Kincaid, BUF (1 Viewer)

Dawson Knox said that TE Dalton Kincaid was playing on a torn PCL in one knee and with an aggravated other knee — “It’s insane what he’s played through”
Then he should not have been playing. He was the BOTY candidate for fantasy and probably cost his team a chance at the Super Bowl.
I think the Bills' Defense allowing 32 to a Chiefs team that struggled to hit 21 many weeks was the overriding factor for their loss
I hear what you're saying, Allen managed to get the ball in his area with that throw, some players make that catch but look at Andrews vs the Bills the week prior
I pin the blame for the Bills loss on their defense, you don't win many allowing 32 in a Playoff game
Still was a fun game and might even be better than the Super Bowl

You are right MOP. I’m just tired of players playing hurt. They should not be playing if they can’t contribute and/or risking their health. I mean why is the dude allowed to play football if he’s got a torn PCL?

Coaches and the organization push these players to play. Players want to be out there, especially for a playoff game.

If everyone needed to be 100% healthy to play it would look like the strike year games in 1987 by the end of the season.

And I believe both strike shortened seasons in '82 and '87 featured the Washington Redskins winning the Super Bowl

By the end of the season, everyone is banged up. If you're not, you're probably just lucky or doing something wrong. Some guys can just play through their injuries better than others.

As for Kincaid, I still go back to the early season when he did nothing before he was injured. Next year, I may take a late flier on him, but at least it can be later instead of foolishly reaching too early on him this year (over Bowers :wall:)

Same, which I know we discussed a few days ago but the PCL injury did not account for his middling first 9 weeks.

I know Knox said he had another unknown injury to his other knee but I'm having a hard time thinking that was the issue those 9 weeks either.

Those comments by Allen about doing better at getting him the ball was more encouraging for next year then Knox's injury excuse, which I think is valid, but only for his play once he returned.

I still think he's got a bright future and I own him in several dynasty leagues and have no interest in trying to move him. Would rather buy him cheap then sale him low, though I will say a case could be made that with a healthy influx of strong looking TE's in this rookie crop his value could get lower. But I believe his day will come. But I also think to be what we all thought he could be entering this season he needs a minimum of Knox or Brady to leave and it does not look like either of those things are happening this off-season.

2026 breakout coming!

Knox is assuredly overpaid, but seems like they really value his blocking prowess. Plus doesn’t hurt when you’re good buddies with the franchise QB.

He is but I checked on his salary a few weeks ago to see if he might be a cut candidate since they are super tight on cap space and saw that $4.5m of his $9.25m base is fully guaranteed so that makes moving on this off-season seem pretty unlikely, though I think you could make a case even if they just ate the $4.5M they could get what he offers for $5m or less but like you are alluding to they seem to like his fit on the team. Right now he carries a $14M cap hit on a team that is $11m over the cap. Not a great use of resources. Anticipating next season is his last as a Bill, unless he takes a paycut in 26.

The Bills have badly mismanaged their cap, they took a few big swings that didn’t pan out:
- extending Diggs
- signing Miller
- extending Knox to a ridiculous contract and then using a first round pick on another TE 🤯

You definitely need to blame the defense, they had no reliable backup when CB1 went out on the first drive and the guy they put in got torched all game. KC burned their backup LBs all game in last years elimination so they should have been ready and done something to adjust.

But Kincaid needs to catch that ball.

Knox is a good TE and does a lot for that offense. He may not be good for fantasy but that doesn't mean he isn't good or doesn't deserve the contract.

Fair but there are plenty of good blocking TEs out there for a lot less money. I think the Bills saw some offensive production a few years back and jumped a bit too quickly to lock him up.

Man I bit so hard on him last year. Like so hard. Just don't know if I have the strength to just forget about the pain he caused me and move forward with him. Gonna need to reflect a bit.

Going pretty late in drafts, might be a good value this year
Certainly wouldn't be the 1st highly hyped guy the fantasy community was just a year early on.
Tough to see a huge jump with Knox still around and the deepened receiver depth chart, but for dynasty I still think he is a good investment at this value point.
Its a lot of bodies, but nobody of any real substance. Kincaid could still absolutely be the top pass catcher on this team. If Kincaid is really good, guys like Knox, Palmer, Moore, Samuel etc. won't stand in his way. There is absolutely room for Kincaid to be a 80+ catch guy in my opinion, its just a matter if he's up for it, and so far that's not happened, but he's the most likely to do it if anyone does in my opinion.

Loved him coming out of college and thought he would beast immediately. Showed good promise his rookie year and then last year was a bit of a gut punch. Draft capital combined with talent usually pays off eventually, but it would be nice to see him be more consistently involved this year.

I agree outside of Shakir whom I always thought should be used in a St. Brown-like role. Not sure what happened last year to Kincaid, but he certainly did not build of a decent rookie year like I thought he would. I do agree the receivers they grabbed are mostly WR3/4 types, but with the numerous additions I wonder if they will run less 2TE. Doesn’t make sense to me, but teams do goofy things at times (and new addition Elijah Moore is getting some hype right now - not that it necessarily means anything this time of year). Shakir, Coleman, Palmer, Samuels, Moore - three of those guys seem better suited in the slot position to me.

yeah even if he produces the same, the cost is so much cheaper now. thinking about redraft and bestball as usual.
