San Diego State senior TE Daniel Bellinger will declare for the NFL draft.
Bellinger (6'6/255) is by far the best blocking tight end in this year's draft. The Aztec passing game was virtually non-existent this season, but he did post a career-high 31 catches for 357 receiving yards this season. He'll have to prove during his pro day and the combine his ability to be a two-way tight end in order to increase his draft stock. There are quite a few good tight ends in this year's draft including Jalen Wydermyer, Isaiah Likely, and Trey McBride, he'll have to work to be included in this list.

San Diego State TE Daniel Bellinger was named the top tight end on the American team during the player-of-the-week awards ceremony at the Senior Bowl this Friday.
Bellinger (6'6/255) checks the boxes for a well-rounded tight end prospect, as he has shown the ability to block, run savvy routes and exhibit dependable hands. He was a consistent contributor for the Aztecs this year, reeling in 31-of-43 targets for 353 yards, a 72 percent catch rate and two touchdowns in addition to securing 3-of-5 contested catch opportunities while not dropping a single pass all season. While not flashy, Bellinger has proven to be a competent inline tight end who can contribute in the passing game and is shaping up as a Day 3 NFL Draft selection.

San Diego State TE Daniel Bellinger has been posting eye opening numbers at the combine, and has been meeting with the Buccaneers.
Bellinger (6'6"/255) rocked 22 reps on the bench press, and then ran a 4.63 on his first 40 attempt. That's size, speed and strength all in one package, and TE mismatches are all the rage in the NFL. This is a notably deep TE group, and his stats don't pop out but that athletic combination is quite nice. Bellinger has met with the Buccaneers, who might be in the market for a TE pending Gronkowski's decision.

ESPN/Scouts Inc draft analyst Steve Muench named San Diego State TE Daniel Bellinger as a big riser at last week's NFL Combine.
Bellinger (6'6/255) went into Mobile relatively unheralded but left a big impression in being named the top TE for the American squad. In a deep class of tight ends, Bellinger stood out in a big way at the combine. Running a 4.63 40-yard dash along with the best broad jump at 125" showed a lot to scouts that he could be a diverse weapon moving forward. Muench said that he went from a fifth-round grade to in the early day-three mix.

Giants selected San Diego State TE Daniel Bellinger with the No. 112 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The G-Men have a thin tight end group after letting Evan Engram depart in free agency. Bellinger (6'5/253) spent four seasons at San Diego State but totaled just 68 receptions for 771 yards and five touchdowns across 29 career appearances. Bellinger was more involved as a receiver as a senior, with a 20% yardage share and 18% touchdown share but still remained an ancillary option. He turned heads at the Combine, however, with a 4.63 40, and a 10-foot-5 broad jump before posting a 35-inch vertical at his Pro Day. Bellinger isn't an off-the-charts athlete, but he does profile as a potential yards-after-catch option on shallow routes in the mold of Jonnu Smith.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan notes that Giants TE Daniel Bellinger "should play immediately."
"In part because of the Giants lack of depth at the position," Raanan adds. Bellinger's main camp competition, Ricky Seals-Jones, was not at early OTAs dealing with a personal matter, so Bellinger worked with the starters. Almost half of Bellinger's career reception total came in his senior season at San Diego State, but we've seen tight ends grow into higher volume options in the NFL before -- with George Kittle being the most famous of those in recent years. Bellinger is a fantasy deep sleeper.

I was thinking Ricky Seals Jones was the TE to own for the Giants until I heard more about this guy recently. But does he play basketball?
Maybe. Everyone was sure saying so, but it's in shorts.UDFA Austin Allen (Nebraska) should be in the training camp mix as well.
I get what you’re saying and I don’t disagree but believe it or not RSJ is still only 27.Bri said:Maybe. Everyone was sure saying so, but it's in shorts.
Jordan Akins is who Daboli mentioned on the radio.
RSJ looks to be in a bad spot with older TEs really not doing all that well in NYG and he's next in line.
Every rookie TE should be like a rookie RB- don't give them much consideration until they prove they can block/pickup the blitz.
Really? InterestingI get what you’re saying and I don’t disagree but believe it or not RSJ is still only 27.
ESPN's Jordan Raanan named TE Daniel Bellinger as his offseason standout for the Giants.
"It seems likely, given his hands and the way he was moving at OTAs and minicamp, he was underutilized at San Diego State," Raanan writes. Bellinger appears to have a real chance to open as the Giants starting tight end as a rookie, with only veterans like Ricky Seals-Jones -- who has been hurt -- as real competition. That doesn't make him a real threat for TE1 right away given how deep the Giants are at wideout, but it does make him an interesting dynasty pick.

Giants placed TE Daniel Bellinger (quad) on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Bellinger had been having a standout offseason, working with the starters and impressing in practice. When rookies reported to training camp on Tuesday, he looked like the favorite to open the season as the Giants' starting tight end. However, his PUP designation indicates that he could miss an extensive portion of training camp. The Giants can activate him at any time during camp; if they wait until after the start of the season, he will miss the first four games of the season. The longer the rookie is out, the more likely it is that Ricky Seals-Jones will begin the season as the Giants' starter at tight end.

Giants placed TE Ricky Seals-Jones (toe) on injured reserve.
The designation ends his season with the Giants, though he could be released in an injury settlement and sign elsewhere. Signed to be the bar for Daniel Bellinger to climb over, Seals-Jones barely even took part in most of OTAs and training camp with the toe issue. He'll hang around the league, but he's probably looking at backup roles going forward.

Daniel Bellinger caught 4-of-5 targets for 40 yards in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the Cowboys.
After going catch-less in the opener against the Titans, rookie Bellinger reeled in a 16-yard touchdown on his lone grab last week, and now has his first multi-catch effort. He remains well off the fantasy radar in redraft formats ahead of a Week 4 date with the Bears.

Daniel Bellinger caught 5-of-5 targets for 38 yards and one touchdown in the Giants' Week 6 win over the Ravens.
Bellinger continues to see an uptick in the Giants' offense, drawing five targets for the second time in four weeks. The rookie tight end caught each of his five targets on the day, with his biggest catch coming on an eight-yard touchdown reception late in the fourth quarter. Bellinger found an opening in the end zone to bring in the easy score, bringing the Giants within a field goal of tying the Ravens. Bellinger has now caught 15 passes for 139 yards and two scores on the season and is a worthy Week 7 streamer against the Jaguars.

You oughten have done that.Dang it. Played Otton over Bellinger
ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports that Giants TE Daniel Bellinger suffered a fracture around the eye socket and septum, which may require surgery.
Bellinger was carted off with an eye injury and was taken to a local hospital. It was clear that it was a significant injury, with his eye swollen shut. He seems likely to miss an extended period of time, which would be a tough blow considering that Bellinger was establishing himself as the Giants' starting tight end.

Giants beat reporter Art Stapleton reports Daniel Bellinger (eye) will undergo surgery to repair a fractured eye socket and septum.
The team is hopeful that this will not be a season-ending injury for Bellinger, who went down in Sunday's win over the Jaguars. Bellinger has seen an increased role on offense over the last several weeks and has posted a receiving line of 16-152-2 on the season. Backup tight end Chris Myarick should step in to fill the void left by Bellinger but can be left off of fantasy rosters.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) plans to return this season.
Bellinger underwent a procedure to repair a fractured eye socket and septum in late October which included putting a plate under his eye. He said he still is suffering from some double vision, and there is no timeline for his return. Still, his plan is to be back this year. Bellinger hauled in 16 passes for 152 yards and two scores before going down.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) is "trending in the right direction" for Week 13 against the Commanders.
Bellinger has missed the past few weeks after a horrifying eye injury that required surgery. Apparently he's ready to return, and could resume his role as the Giants' primary pass-catching tight end this week against Washington. Bellinger would be a reasonable streaming option in deeper leagues. Lawrence Cager, who has operated as the team's tight end over the past few weeks, would lose all fantasy viability.

I debated but I figure he’s as much as a crapshoot his first week back than say Henry, who then gets Arizona next week. They’re awful against TEs, almost everyone puts up a good game.Missed on Woods. Guys like Henry and Fant are out there but they are just basic floor pieces.
This guy have any more upside?

I think even higher unless they start using Barkley more in the passing game. Slayton is probably the #1, but not like he's an alpha type.I think yes. Potential to be a top 3 target in the Giants offense.Missed on Woods. Guys like Henry and Fant are out there but they are just basic floor pieces.

Daniel Bellinger caught 2-of-2 targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' Wild Card Round win over the Vikings.
Bellinger got wide open on a well-executed play action play. Harrison Smith crashed down to tackle Saquoon Barkley. The only issue was that he didn't have the ball. Bellinger used the confusion to get wide open in the flat and secured the target for a 9-yard score. Bellinger was otherwise quiet and will be a dart throw tight end play against the Eagles in the Divisional Round.

Darren Waller (hamstring) will not play in Week 9 against the Raiders.
Head coach Brian Daboll said Waller won’t be active for Week 9 and that some time on injured reserve could be a possibility. Waller said on Wednesday that “it may be a little bit” when speaking on how long he could be out, which paves the way for Daniel Bellinger to start for the foreseeable future. Bellinger will be hard to trust as anything more than a touchdown dependent TE2 in fantasy this week.
Considering his QB situation and the addition of Theo Johnson I don’t see either of these guys really getting the lions share of the TE targets. I think they split the work and it hurts them both.Thoughts/projections on this stud for this season? With Waller gone, does he have some sleeper appeal? Any camp reports?
