and he was among the youngest players in the draft. He just turned 21 a month ago. Like Brock Bowers before him, he was a factor on the ground as well. He had 5 rushing TDs in college. I know he played in MAC but that aside, he kind of had one of the best TE careers in college history. Almost Brock Bowers level good. He showed up in the big games too. 11/137/1 against Penn State. 8/145/1 against Texas A&M. 17/213 in the bowl game. PFF had him as the highest graded player in college football last year. I wonder how much higher he would have gone if he wasn't duck footed. It's really strange to see his gait but you can not argue with the results.

Someone that people might want to think about even in redraft right now. I like his potential more than a lot of TEs I see going ahead of him. Now of course his floor is basically 4th or 5th receiving option in a putrid Browns offense but he's got more upside than Hunter Henry, Zach Ertz, Cade Otton, Mike Geseicki, etc.

Yeah, the trouble is I probably should actually start one even against a weaker opponent. Regardless, it's a problem for another day. Had to get him on board just so I could move on with my day. I did offer up Ollie Gordon to the Achane team for their '27 2nd.

It's dynasty, I wouldn't be worried about the catches, or lack thereof, this Sunday, I'd be focused on his massive upside for either later this year or more likely next year when there is a decent chance that CLE moves on from Njoku and the QB room is a bit more settled (ok, who are we kidding, it's CLE).

Certainly not. I spent a late 3rd round pick on him in May in my 12 tean singe QB league. Hopefully he's finally the dynasty TE project that actually pans out for me.

Certainly not. I spent a late 3rd round pick on him in May in my 12 tean singe QB league. Hopefully he's finally the dynasty TE project that actually pans out for me.

Great spot to draft him this year. If you traded back or had multiple 3s or later picks this year, I was shotgun spraying Fannin, Arroyo, Ferguson the most. Mason Taylor even was great value this year.

This TE class I feel is going to change the landscape of the position over the next 2/3 years.

I have a 5 keeper league, lot of fun. Give up the draft pick you got the player in, Forever. So Trey McBride is a 21st round keeper for me for as long as I want to keep him. In this same league, I took Bowers in the 5th round, and now have the top two dynasty TE as affordable keepers. Incredible situation.

Anyway, I took Fannin late in the draft. We have big rosters, 3 TE is not unusual. I took him round 16, mainly as a defensive move. I don't want someone else getting a cheap stud TE as a keeper. The buzz on him was immediate, and if the coaches of a team that has Njoku are talking about getting the rookie involved, then I am feeling good about his chances. His dynasty value has increased since draft day, IMO

Harold Fannin caught 7-of-9 targets for 63 yards in the Browns’ Week 1 loss to the Bengals, adding one carry for three yards.

Fannin was the focal point of the Browns’ passing attack out of the gates, catching three passes on the opening drive. He was a queen chess piece throughout the game, operating as a receiver, tight end, fullback, and even a quarterback. His lone carry came on a Wildcat snap early in the game. Fannin led the team in targets and trailed only rookie running back Dylan Sampson in targets. Coming into the NFL, Fannin was a small school phenom at Bowling Green and it wasn’t clear how well his skill set would translate to the pros. He emphatically answered that question in Week 1 and will find a spot in the TE1 ranks for Week 2 versus Baltimore.

Thanks for feedback. Flacco helps but I see a lot of short passes with Gabriel(which is ideal in a 1.5 TEP) and the entire system is TE friendly.

I mean the owner already said before the season they need to see what they got with the rookie QB's.

Hold up was idea that with a 2026 first round pick I’d be lucky to land a 21 year old TE who looks to have a large, and growing, role in the passing game.

Awesome to turn a mid third round rookie pick into what I just did but at least as long as Stefanski is his coach I think he’s very legit. Maybe even a fantasy super star in this format.

You are right in the sense that there aren’t many productive long term 6’3” 240 lb players in the league. Obviously you have Derrick Henry, but from a tight end perspective there is Jonnu smith and chig okonkwo who hit those size metrics. I always felt the in line tight ends that clear 6’4” and 245-250 are the sweet spot for longevity in the NFL.

That said there’s nothing wrong with him being used like an athlete like Percy Harvin but yesterday the browns got 15 receptions out of their round 3 and 4 rookies which is preposterous and unbelievable to me as I type it out

Yeah, I agree with the sweet spot for longevity as it relates to FF for TEs. Fannin doesn't have that kind of skill set, but he's also not a WR.

The best label for Fannin might be Offensive Weapon. I just think this might be a Stefanski thing. I'd also like him a little more if he was taller. I'm not sure Fannin is going to scare a lot of the defenders who'll be assigned to cover him.

Intrigued by Fannin. Usage was great. Obviously a tremendous college track record.

As a Kittle owner I have to be interested, however, how much of his production yesterday could be chalked up to a lousy Cinci D?

I don't think Fannin will ever be a traditional TE
I would bet by next season that he might be reclassified in FF as a WR

-If he stays listed at TE but lines up as a receiver much of the time, it's a cheat code basically
You gotta be impressed with the Browns overall, they should have won the game

He's a tight end/h-back similar to Jonnu. 6'3" 241, 4.71 50. He had snaps from the backfield, wildcat. He's definitely not a WR.

There's a clear risk with Fannin. It's far from certain whether a future HC would play Fannin pretty much full-time in what amounts to an H-Back position like Stefanski is doing right now. As soon as they get another decent WR, Fannin could very well play less snaps in the role he's in now or as more of a traditional TE as a backup. I could've missed it, but I didn't see him line up in-line once.

Fannin wasn't a popular FF pick, but he went 3.3 in the NFL draft so he's no slouch. That said, he's one of those guys who could have value one day, then poof. Fannin is good at what he does, but he's your classic tweener and those guys can have trouble having lasting production. Eventually, I believe Fannin will need to make it in more of a traditional TE role if he's going to be a FF stud. Whether he can do that remains to be seen.

If you told me Stefanski will always be there, I'd be more optimistic, but only to a degree. All it might take for Fannin to lose his current role is for them to draft a day-2 WR. I think he's a decent 2nd round rookie pick (ideally, 3rd round) and hope for the best.

This comes with the caveat that Fannin has enough talent to hit, but there's some dynamics involved that aren't there for other top, young TE prospects.

Oh, I definitely think Fannin can have a good career.

I like him...just saying he could easily end up being more of a valuable NFL player as opposed to an FF producer.

You are right in the sense that there aren’t many productive long term 6’3” 240 lb players in the league. Obviously you have Derrick Henry, but from a tight end perspective there is Jonnu smith and chig okonkwo who hit those size metrics. I always felt the in line tight ends that clear 6’4” and 245-250 are the sweet spot for longevity in the NFL.

That said there’s nothing wrong with him being used like an athlete like Percy Harvin but yesterday the browns got 15 receptions out of their round 3 and 4 rookies which is preposterous and unbelievable to me as I type it out

This cold water does make sense, hate to say it. However, I then look at Brock Bowers measurables and I see 6'3" 243 and I think hmmm...

There's a huge jump in athleticism with Bowers, though. Probably quite a bit of a difference in functional strength, as well.
