TE Harold Fannin Jr., CLE (26 Viewers)

So much short sighted reactionary nonsense on the last page. Rationale minds that have him on a roster are doing so because of plausible upside, as demonstrated by his usage rates. This is a 21 year old day 2 rookie on a bad offense. If you have expectations that exceed that then that's a you problem.

someone dropped him, I just grabbed him. Have Kelce so going to ride him out and see how QB change will affect the dynamic. Can't be worse.

This game is going to be very important, not only to see if Gabriel will pepper his RBs and TEs with targets, but to see if Fannin Jr. outsnapping Njoku last week was a one-off. That happens again, I'm effing doing cartwheels.

Harold Fannin caught all four targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in the Browns’ Week 5 loss to the Vikings.

Fannin’s role held steady in this game. He saw a few snaps at nearly every position on offense and finished second on the team in receptions behind only David Njoku. Fannin also caught his first career touchdown on a well-designed play-action look at the goal line. Fannin has a solid floor of three to four catches per week, but the ceiling isn’t there yet. He will be a mid-range TE2 when the Browns return from their Week 6 bye.

I don't think his role held steady at all. He had a hot start but I don't think he ran as many routes, was in to block a ton and I'm pretty sure he didn't outsnap Njoku. Also, Njoku was running premium routes downfield and definitely looked like the apple of Gabriel's eye. Not sure if it's game script or Dillon Gabriel himself, but the routes Fannin Jr. ran were short routes and dumpoffs. I'll have to see his aDoT compared to previous weeks, but this felt like a step back.

He was clearly not a priority in the offense today.

Harold Fannin caught 7-of-10 targets for 81 yards in the Browns’ Week 6 loss to the Steelers.

Fannin’s 10 targets were second only to Jerry Jeudy (13). The rookie tight end had his best game since breaking out for 9-63-0 in Week 1, and did a significant amount of his damage in the fourth quarter. Fannin saw five of his targets come in the fourth quarter after David Njoku exited with an apparent knee injury, and turned one of those receptions into a 24-yard gain on a long catch-and-run. Fannin has been involved in the offense all season long, but hasn’t lived up to the hype he generated following his Week 1 performance. With that said, he would be firmly on the TE1 radar in Week 7 against the Dolphins if Njoku is unable to go.

Weird game for Fannin Jr. The 1st half Fannin was kinda invisble and getting dumpoffs passes while Njoku ran intermediate routes. I was about to call Gabriel disastrous for Fannin Jr. until Njoku injured his knee before the half. He labored through it in the 3rd and they shut him down in the 4th quarter. Fannin Jr. started running routes at every depth after that. If Njoku misses time Fannin Jr. could definitely be a Top 10 TE, even with Gabriel.

Could have had an even better week but a couple bad drops. Considering what we saw from him in college (and the fact several of the receivers today had balls hit them in the hands and wind up on the ground) I think this is a little bit of the fall out that comes from a team carrying 4 QBs through most of the offseason and trying to give them all reps. I think as they build rapport with Gabriel it will improve.

Didn't watch the game but saw that he got a bunch of catches pretty late.

I know every stat counts the the same (and the browns are bad, so this scenario could obviously pop up pretty often), but it seems like this was just the steelers playing soft prevent and Gabriel just taking an open check down guy to keep the ball moving

Again , points are points, but it's not ideal that they didn't get him involved from the start

Hoping they learn from this.
Njuko might be out a week or two.
Fannin easy top 10 TE with him out.
He should see 8-10 targets next week

PFF's Nathan Jahnke - NFL Week 6 Recap: Immediate fantasy football takeaways from Sunday's games
Monitor David Njoku’s health: Njoku suffered a knee injury, causing him to miss most of the second half.

The Browns have used more two-tight-end sets this season than most teams with Njoku sharing the field with rookie Harold Fannin Jr. That was the case for the first half of this game, as Fannin played 25 of 35 snaps in the first half, while Njoku played 24. Njoku suffered his injury late in the first half. Njoku returned at the start of the second half and took most of his normal snaps at nine of 12. However, he only played three snaps early in the fourth quarter out of a possible 35. Fannin played 30 of the 35 snaps that quarter, while the Browns continued to use a high rate of 12 personnel, but with Blake Whiteheart.

Fannin caught seven passes for a career-high 81 receiving yards. Fannin was already a borderline fantasy starter, but if Njoku misses time, Fannin will be a clear player worth starting. He should be picked up in any league where he has been dropped.

Dropped him for mason taylor and didn’t even mean to. I don’t know what to make of the situation or with mason taylor but rookie tes can be frustrating
Yea dropped hin for Taylor too after carrying Fannin since week 1 for free. Now I'll have to pay to get him back. Both have the same bye too but I just can't let my leaguemates reap his rewards.

if Njoku is out that would be huuuuge for Fannin. I was already tossing around the idea of sitting Henry for him but that would be an automatic plug and play if Njoku was hurt.

Same but both Fannin and Taylor are going to be boom or bust and mostly the latter every week.

Yep. Just going to play the matchups

I just don't want to rely on rookie QB + rookie TE on a bad offense. On paper Fields + Taylor should be better but Jets are a dumpster fire now too. Both should bounce back this week. If a third option like AJ Barner is available, it's worth considering.

Fannin is starting for me, but I also don't have another TE rostered. So I guess you could say I have him over TEs like Mason Taylor, Michael Mayer, and Evan Engram. I have him in a similar tier to Tucker Kraft and Travis Kelce for as long as Njoku is out, as a low end TE1 with upside (But aren't they all these days...).

I started Taylor last week and not going to do that again. Jets are a real dumpster fire so Fannin for me this (and next) week.

I think Taylor does better this week but I am also starting Fanin. Mainly because Miami is awful and Njoku might be out.
