Teams running two productive TE's (1 Viewer)

Islanders rule

Hoody has implemented the 2 TE's impressivley, Gronk & Hernandez are an awesome duo.

Several other teams are doing similar.

Which 2nd TE on the following teams do you think has more value going forward?

Lions - Pettigrew/Scheffler

Texans- Daniels/Casey

Skins - Davis/Cooley - Cooley is probably # 1 going forward?

Panthers- Olsen/Shockey

Cards - Heap/King

I like Cooley & Shockey. Lions & Texans have too many other weapons.

Your thoughts?

All the best,

I would rather focus on a guy like Dickson who may be on your waiver wire

But if I had to chose I would say Cooley who seems to be rounding into health now.

there is some difference between inline TE/Move TE or vertical threat/Redzone TE and a H-back. you want one of the first 2 or a combination for consistent fantasy success. snap count is big key

Cooley-Hback

Casey-Hback

Hernandez-Move+vert threat/redzone

Olsen- some Inline in 1TE formations(even tho he's a awful blocker)/move+vert threat when both are in

Shockey-Inline, could once do it all but body has been ravaged by injuries

King-redzone

Heap- Inline/Move(not sure how much he is used as a move at this stage of his career)

Gronk-Inline/redzone/whatever they want him to do

Pettigrew-Inline

Scheffler-vertical threat

Dickson-some Inline/move+vertical threat/not sure if he or pitta play more in redzone

Fred Davis- inline/move+vertical threat/redzone

would not say by any means Cooley is the guy. think his good game is more like Casey's where defense took out Daniels/Davis and OC exploited weakness with Casey/Cooley. Besides the obviously coveted patriot duo i'd look at Fred Davis and Ed Dickson.

I'll second the notion that Cooley and Casey -- in week 3 at least -- played predominantly if not exclusively as fullbacks/H-backs. While this theoretically cuts into the production of Davis and Daniels, it does so in an indirect manner, similar to the way a wide receiver or running back getting targets cuts into a tight end's opportunities.

Fred Davis played 60 of 62 snaps in Week 3. Cooley did not take over at tight end. He was getting mostly outlet passes out of the fullback or H-back position. Casey similarly had all of his big plays out of the fullback position. While it can be argued which player on each team has the greater value moving forward, the position of Davis and Daniels as the number one tight end on these teams so far has not been impacted.

Hernandez is far and away the best #2 option in the list. Shockey interests me as I expect defenses to take away the deep pass from Cam Newton now that they have a few games of his to study. I would probably take Casey as the highest upside among the non-Hernandez #2 TEs. He's got strong athleticism and a history of productivity dating back to his college days at Rice. It is interesting that Kubiak seemed surprised at Casey's success in New Orleans. It seems like that was a specific game-plan as opposed to an emerging trend, but given the success last week, maybe it becomes a more consistent feature of the Houston attack. Still, there are only so many TDs to go around even in Houston's offense.

I am lowest on Cooley. I'm not even convinced he'll see the field as much again this season as he did on MNF. Washington was without their starting fullback, which is why Cooley was playing so many snaps there. It's not so much that he's done, but I'm convinced Davis is now the standard TE. But I've been known to be wrong.
