Nice, though the CNN picture I pointed to is revealing to the point that I'm shocked it made CNN. Can easily see shaving status.

good postCilic and Federer both racked up errors, but jeez, the intensity level was insane. Fantastic match. In the first couple of sets, it felt like 2014 all over again, when it looked like Federer might have an "easier" final matchup at the US Open with Nishikori knocking Djokovic out, but ended up getting eliminated by Cilic in his semifinal. Huge win for Federer against his toughest opponent in the tournament so far.

You #######! I didn't even bother turning the match on because I thought it was over! This entire post was embarassing
to be fair cilic was previously 51-0 when up 2 sets love... so it was essentially a 1 outerYou #######! I didn't even bother turning the match on because I thought it was over!
I now hate Dentists even more!!!
Does Federer really fall into the category of "big server"? Efficient, sure. Effective.. sure. But while he's certainly a bigger server than Murray or Nadal... he's not much bigger than Nole, really.... am I off base here?Looking like old school at Wimbledon, big servers Raonic, Berdych, and Federer in the SF already, Tsonga making a push and Murray is spending a lot of time complaining.
Like a reverse bad beat for you.to be fair cilic was previously 51-0 when up 2 sets love... so it was essentially a 1 outer
Murray now pwning in the 5th.. but with 4 hours on court... does that factor in to his match vs. the Bird man who has been a finalist here in the past?Looking like old school at Wimbledon, big servers Raonic, Berdych, and Federer in the SF already, Tsonga making a push and Murray is spending a lot of time complaining.
a 5 set affair seems like it would really drain the old man, and it's not going to be any easier against Raonic despite Federer's really good record against him, and having defeated him twice on grass.Like a reverse bad beat for you.
What are Fed's odds now? 25%?
Don't forget Goran. That guy was the quintessential ace machine on grass. When I think big server I think Raonic, Isner, Karlovic, Sampras, Roddick.. true ace machines... Byrdych even seems a tier below that.. and Federer even below that
I hate Andy Murray's face.a 5 set affair seems like it would really drain the old man, and it's not going to be any easier against Raonic despite Federer's really good record against him, and having defeated him twice on grass.
Having said that, he's 10-0 in Wimbledon Semis... and is playing with house money.
If Raonic doesn't serve awesome, he definitely can win... he'd beat Byrd in the final because that guy doesn't have the mental fortitude to win a GS final... but against Murray he would have a tough time being the crown underdog.. and let's face it.. murray is the better player right now.

i hate those matches, I hope it doesn't happen... I think the girls themselves even hate those matches.Ministry of Pain said:An all Williams Final would be cool at this stage of their careers, likely never happen again.
Sure, that's completely true... aces are an overrated stat... % of un-returned serves is a far more valuable stat.Master of Past and Present said:Don't think ever seen a report on Berdych that didn't say great things on his serve.
Maybe use great server instead of big if MPHs is all that makes a big server. Aces aren't all there is to it. Guy scrapes a racket on it, it's an unreturnable and not an ace but just as good. Get them out wide so your second shot has the whole open court, that's a point won by the serve still.
And I think I've seen something similar from you on previous Williams posts. I understand folks think they don't get a real match but in fact I think you do and Venus beating her sister in the Finals and then announcing her retirement would be really sweet or both of them at the same time.i hate those matches, I hope it doesn't happen... I think the girls themselves even hate those matches.
What venus has done is downright amazing given her age and health and results over the past several seasons... I was among those suggesting she should have retired years ago because she was damaging her legacy with poor results.
I haven't seen him play enough to form my own opinion, but every time I do, the commentator is always saying how disappointing Berdych's serve is for a man his size. He never seems to take over a set on his serve like Raonic can. I really hope Raonic can take the next step and beat Federer Friday. He had a real chance in Australia, but fell apart after his injury.Master of Past and Present said:Don't think ever seen a report on Berdych that didn't say great things on his serve.

I was watching the Murray/Kygrios match and the commentator referred to Murray as "calmness personified." I had a good laugh. It doesn't bother me at all, and I enjoy watching Murray play, but I'm not even sure he's calm relative to Kygrios.Dentist said:Some of the worst body language, expressions, demeanor on court of anyone.
If you're going to sulk, at least be a cool basspole McEnroe style.... what Murray does wins him no fans and doesn't seem to accomplish anything for him.
Ironically, now Fed is down 4-1 in 5th set.Dentist, Fed is down 4-1 1st set, no need to watch the match, it's over.
Or forgot how much damage a stab wound could doWow...you almost forget how dominant Steffi Graf was...
Hearing Serena just tied her brought back some of that memory.
I'd still put Navratilova ahead of all though. She was a beast...and that's with one of the greatest ever, Chris Evert, as competition.
One full match before Djokovic gets another retirement. Though this time it was after 2 sets instead of a half. 9.5 sets for 5 wins. Monfils next who is at least playing his best and most controlled tennis in his career. Easy win today over a guy who had 3 straight 5 setters.
