Will he get it going any time soon ? I was counting on him as a #1 DL this year, wasnt he supposed to be playing for a huge paycheck ?
Suggs got off to a slow start last season as well. He only had 3 sacks through week 10 before finishing the season with a flourish at 9.5.Not to say he will repeat last year's late season heroics... but history is often a good indicator of future performance.Suggs has me thoroughly flummoxed. As I posted last week, he looks active to me, is clearly around the ball (as evidenced by the boxscores) but hasn't cashed in on any of his above average matchups. It's been a weird season among the DL "studs". I'm holding out hope the cream will rise by season's end, but it's getting awful late for those stuck in the minefield.
Unfortunately for our argument that Suggs is soon to rebound, the slow period last season was related to a hamstring injury that Suggs played through for 4-5 weeks.Suggs got off to a slow start last season as well. Jene - as usual you are right on top of things. Digging a bit deeper often unearths explanations for streaks good and bad. I also had RommelDAK's in depth article on previous season performance and early season trends in the back of my mind while typing the "history is often a good indicator...".Bottom line... just like Suggs 'almost' getting to the QB, there is a ton of luck and chance involved in the IDP world. Both playing and prognosticating.Unfortunately for our argument that Suggs is soon to rebound, the slow period last season was related to a hamstring injury that Suggs played through for 4-5 weeks.Suggs got off to a slow start last season as well. Unfortunately, the hardest position to forecast is defensive line! I'm not ashamed to say that my dl (which includes Suggs) has been horrible all year. It's driving me crazy!Jene - as usual you are right on top of things. Digging a bit deeper often unearths explanations for streaks good and bad. Misery loves company Rommel. At least you know you aren't alone. Our IDP league is very shallow (we only start 1 DL, 1 LB, 1 DB) and due to bye weeks and lack of production Julius Peppers and Jason Taylor have been released in the last two weeks. I have held on to Suggs but may reach out for Taylor if he doesn't pick it up.Unfortunately, the hardest position to forecast is defensive line!
