Texas brewery unveils 99 pack for $99 (1 Viewer)

The fact that ABW only does cans and kegs is also an important point. I love those guys. I've emailed them twice with customer advice questions and got great responses.

The first time I was having frouble getting a beer out of their holder, which has a funky design. They wrote back and told me it was a safety feature. If I was too drunk to get a beer out, I didn't need it.

The second time I asked them if it was ok if I brought my 3 year old on a brewery tour. They said it was fine but he shouldn't expect special treatment and would only get two free beer tickets just like everyone else.
:lmao:

Love them already.
You probably have tried their beer too. Cos kept us well stocked in this. Good stuff.

I think with the micro beers that can, the beer nerd way is to pour in a glass. I just drink out of the can with a coozie. I think it stays the coldest that way.

How fast could you drink the entire 99 pack by yourself? Be honest. If you had no other obligations but to finish it. One week? 5 days?

When I unload he dishwasher, 7-8 pint glasses go straight to the freezer. Nothing better than canned beer into an icy pint glass on my own couch.

Microbrews doing cans is a big trend right now. Personally, I like a lot of them better out of cans, but I end up drinking them faster.
It's because it's easier to get a canning line going for distribution than it is a bottling line...that's why they're delivering you their product in an inferior container
Interesting. Well, I figured it wasn't cost prohibitive to can since so many are doing it lately. Cans do keep light from skunking your beer and some claim it keeps it fresh longer.
Exactly.
Also cans have less chance of oxidation because bottle caps leak more than can seams.

The key would be to manage your drinking. If you drink at a steady pace and mix in a lot of water to stay hydrated (at least as hydrated as a guy trying to drink 99 beers can be) you have a much better chance to keep the situation under control.

To do it in a week, you'd need to drink 14 beers a day in 16 waking hours (one day you'll have to do 15). One per hour, with two one-hour food/water breaks. This doesn't sound that bad.

For 6 days, you'll have to average 16.5 beers per day. It would be challenging but I think I could manage that.

A 5-day plan would be about 20 beers per day. 4 beers every 3 hours with two half-hour breaks gets you there. For a day it doesn't seem too bad, but I'd be worried about the cumulative effects on my body over 5 days.

25 beers a day for 4 days seems pretty crazy. Maybe an alcoholic could do it. Not me.

People talk about a refined palate like it's a GOOD thing. It just means everything taste like ####. COngrats, gloat some more, but you can have that super power. I don't want it.

No idea the alcohol content or what kind of beer it is. Some types of beers, wow, would take me like 10 days.

Miller lite....if it was some sort of gamble worth a lot of money, and you were not allowed to puke................4 days.

Definitely out of the can. Tastes better than out of a bottle.

Icy pint glasses are no good. Make the beer too cold.

There's truth to the phrase 'ignorance is bliss'.

What's wrong with cans?

Blech! I hate beer in cans - always has a metallic taste.
No it doesn't. If I poured you a glass of canned beer and bottled beer, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
If I am drinking a beer, I am going to either drink it out of the bottle or out of the can, I am not going to take the time to pre-chill a glass in the freezer to pour it into. And if it is in a can, I can taste the metal.
:lmao:

Jesus Christ, did everyone in this thread seriously miss that the can/bottle joke that started this whole thing was in reference to "99 bottles of beer on the wall"?
