The 1972 Song Draft ... (1 Viewer)

I am both surprised and not surprised that one of the biggest albums of 1972 hasn't even been tapped for one song.

One of the longest charting albums of all time, but it's not a "rocker" so that's why I'm not surprised.

I'll take

The Main Ingredient - Everybody Plays the Fool
I was ready last night, and again this morning and would have taken that song. Oh well, guess I'll learn to PM.

This song was released on a 1969 album and peaked at #66 in the country. It was released in January of 1972 and peaked at number 33.

Joe Cocker- "Feeling Alright"

Another one gone. This was top of the list.

Great song!
There's some live album with a French guy announcing him and it's like:"Ladies and gennntlemen, Mr. Jhoe Coc-quer" and then he launches into "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window". Great song and intro, but not 1972.

"Ladies and gennntlemen, Mr. Jhoe Coc-quer"
:D Kind of reminds me of the old Beat Club clips (Germany's version of "Don Kirschner's Rock Concert"), in which the German-speaking host would absolutely butcher the artists' names.

Isn't that Mad Dog's & Englishmen?KILLER album.

Reverting back to the songwriter route of '72, this artist IMHO was one of the best (irrespective of one's views about his religious/political leanings).

8.05 Cat Stevens (aka Yusuf Islam) - "Morning Has Broken"
Always reminds me of The Young Ones.

Could be. That album was on heavy rotation on the frat house stereo in the '71-72 time period.

Never really need a PM. If I'm not checking this thread every few minutes, chances are I'm offline altogether and won't see the PM immediately.

8.11 -- "Never Been to Spain", Three Dog Night

8.12 The Allman Brothers - "One Way Out"

Only track I like better is "Ain't Wastin' Time", but just barely.

Almost took "Les Brers" earlier just to piss off Nigel . . . :D

I was debating over this one, "Les Brers," (best bassline ever) or another one that is ... well, really, really long.

Apparently, Mandisa ate Godzilla

:(

I lost an American Idol avatar bet.

This is what drinking and posting gets you.

I have turned off avatars altogether so I don't have to look at it.

Zilla will be back when Mandisa is voted off.

I realize I lose street cred for having anything to do with American Idol, but trust me, I hadn't watched it except for the last half of last week's episode when I entered bigbottom's draft just to entertain myself on a dead Friday. Which is why I let Disco Stu goad me into this, banking on the least talented person there to beat the ubertalented fat chick.
