Nfl makes more money than all of them. And it’s a more brutal sport/shorter playing career. Those sports don't have 50ish man rosters, and play how many games compared to maybe 20.

Doesn't matter, the NFL has far more players and play far less games.Nfl makes more money than all of them. And it’s a more brutal sport/shorter playing career.
I don’t care that other people also have terrible opinions.Doesn't matter, the NFL has far more players and play far less games.
As you can see I;m not alone on this.

So just how much should a starting NFL QB make? What's right?I don’t care that other people also have terrible opinions.
What the market determines they are worth. So just how much should a starting NFL QB make? What's right?
What does the market have on teachers and the military? How about the CFL, Arena league? What the market determines they are worth.
Literally nothing to do with the topic at hand. What does the market have on teachers and the military? How about the CFL, Arena league?
Sure it does, how did it ever get to where an athlete was considered more valuable than a teacher? How did it ever come to that?Literally nothing to do with the topic at hand.
What you aren't understanding is the NL players aren't doing a job, they a providing a product. Why do the make more than CFL players? Why is a flawless diamond worth more than an industrial diamond? Why is filet worth more than ground chuck?Sure it does, how did it ever get to where an athlete was considered more valuable than a teacher? How did it ever come to that?
Hopefully you are picking up on what I'm actually talking about. which is how did the NFL let things get this way?
Hell yes these guys make too much $$$$$, not even a debate actually, the thing is how did the NFL let it get like this? Talk about bad business, here it is.
Guy can go work at a real job or go play some football for a mill a year. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Should a guy be making 30 mill .....of course not.

I do think most people think NFL players make too much money for just 16-20ish games in a 12 month period.
Gee...couldn’t have seen THAT happening. It’s dead. Sucks.
Sources: The AAF will suspend all football operations today. New owner Tom Dundon will lose approximately $70 million on his investment. Dundon makes decision against wishes of league co-founders Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian.
They basically already have that and all for free. Can't imagine why the NFL wouldn't be interested in helping build a minor league to develop players for them...
Yes. Yes he is.ok you either aren’t being serious or you are exceptionally in over your head here. Are you some kind of shark pool troll I don’t know about or something?
I would love to see all the NFL players forced to take a 20% paycut so the owners could make more money.Sure it does, how did it ever get to where an athlete was considered more valuable than a teacher? How did it ever come to that?

Come on man did ya read me at all?I would love to see all the NFL players forced to take a 20% paycut so the owners could make more money.
All of which would have served to just make the owners much wealthier. I am happy seeing the players get as big of a chunk of the pie as possible.Come on man did ya read me at all?
Did you miss?
"Hopefully you are picking up on what I'm actually talking about. which is how did the NFL let things get this way? "
Nothing can be done now.........ok? I was talking about the owners screwed up by letting the players to be paid all that $$$$$ when they didn't have to. Where is their competition? Where is a guy who wants to play football going to beat NFL $$$$$? Yes, you play the players good $$$$$ just not ridiculous $$$$$.
And they could have had a ceiling by position, they could even take the individual totally out of it. Just pay by job title and time in.
Sure it does, how did it ever get to where an athlete was considered more valuable than a teacher? How did it ever come to that?

What company owner doesn't make FAR FAR more than his employees? All of which would have served to just make the owners much wealthier. I am happy seeing the players get as big of a chunk of the pie as possible.
Every team in the NFL has at least two QB;s, that is 64, and there are 4-6 in college out there every season in waiting. So....20-30....isn't accurate.supply/demand... Only 20-30 people in the world are good enough to sling a football well enough that thousands of people are willing to pay to see them play live and millions more take 3-4 hours our of their day to watch.
An NFL player's athletic prowess produces a part of what is billion dollar business.
A teacher generates no revenue for anyone, and tens of thousands of people are capable of doing their jobs at a similar level.
People always think that people that make significantly more than they do are overpaid.
the same type of poll would read that doctors, dentists and CEO's are overpaid as well.
If you generate profit, you get a percentage of it... if you generate no revenue you're lucky to get paid what you do by the government
The owners do make FAR FAR more than the players but you are saying it's not enough and they should be making even more. What company owner doesn't make FAR FAR more than his employees?
NFL players play 16-20ish games a year. They have months off a year. There are over 70 college football conferences out there, TONS of players, TONS,.
You don't pay a guy 30 million a season. That is beyond crazy, let's get real here. Sure....10mill, everybody making millions a year just not .....20, 25, 30 mill a season, now it's ridiculous,
Players come and go, while owning a team is something totally different, an owner has to concern himself with the future of his franchise. Players don't care,The owners do make FAR FAR more than the players but you are saying it's not enough and they should be making even more.
The players salaries increasing because the owners are making an increasing amount of money. The owners aren’t hurting from this, quite the opposite.Players come and go, while owning a team is something totally different, an owner has to concern himself with the future of his franchise. Players don't care,
Pay the players great $$$$$ just don't get silly with it.
It's never about the players salaries increasing, it's about where those salaries are at. They make too much and it's the owners fault. The players salaries increasing because the owners are making an increasing amount of money. The owners aren’t hurting from this, quite the opposite.
You do know most people think the NFL players make too much, right?Amazing.
there's only 20-30 that are good... and even if the number isn't accurrate.... it's like 100ish people vs. 100k teachers.Every team in the NFL has at least two QB;s, that is 64, and there are 4-6 in college out there every season in waiting. So....20-30....isn't accurate.
I have no problems with good/big $$$$ for pro athletes, just not ridiculous $$$$. Come on.....35 mill for 16-20 games a season? That's crazy..
Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys for $140 million 30 years ago. The Cowboys are now worth $4.2 billion. Thats 28x return on investment. So your “owners deserve more money” take just sounds ridiculous to me. Add in that 1990 Marino signed the biggest contract ever for $25 million and I think Rodgers is the highest paid now at $103. That’s only an increase of 4x. The owners are doing fine and player contracts aren’t out of control at all. It's never about the players salaries increasing, it's about where those salaries are at. They make too much and it's the owners fault.
Sorry I’ll let everyone get to discussing a league that lasted 7 weeks. There was so much to say.I wish you guys would stop feeding it.
You're right. I'll let you guys get back to wasting time arguing with a hammer that beats the same nail over & over again.Sorry I’ll let everyone get to discussing a league that lasted 7 weeks. There was so much to say.
I totally agree, but like most people I think NFL players are over paid for 16-20 game seasons.there's only 20-30 that are good... and even if the number isn't accurrate.... it's like 100ish people vs. 100k teachers.
It doesn't matter if you or anyone else thinks they are overpaid.
The only way their salaries drop is if everyone stops watching or people stop attending games... that's it.
As long as people watch and advertisers pay... they'll get paid that.
Same with actors, musicians, etc. etc.
Fame pays... look at ####### Kylie Jenner
Dude, don't play that, ok? This is a very real debate seen everywhere football is talked about.I wish you guys would stop feeding it.
Dude, this is the first time I;ve ever talked about this. You're right. I'll let you guys get back to wasting time arguing with a hammer that beats the same nail over & over again.
My apologies and enjoy!
Did you go MOP on him?Somebody please think of the poor owners that must pay these players at such ridiculous rates.
I saw Bob Irsay eating tuna fish from a can for dinner on Christmas day for god's sake. I blame Andrew Luck.
Because the market for the autograph of the starting QB of the Nashville Funions is going to be so in demand. The XFL has a better chance to make it than the AAF if they start paying guys out of high school decent money. I am not sure why the AAF didn't do this, but that is the only way it will work. The recruiting services will act as their initial marketing team and get some hype going for their players. It will cause a ripple effect of chatter, because if a guy chooses a XFL contract over a Bama scholarship you are going to be creating a lot of buzz about that player. He may not be popular in Tuscaloosa, but he may make some fans in Clemson and Columbus.
Even if the XFL contracts aren't that high, the ability to sign shoe deals, sell autographs, and have their likenesses on a XFL video game could change college football forever. The game could be a huge seller, if they don't use EA and create competition with Madden. The one thing that may work against it is work conditions. How many games, practices, and ability to unionize could be as important as any of it.
Besides, no one buys sneakers because a guy plays in the NFL.It may happen, but I imagine that if players like Trevor Lawrence or Tua decided to play when the XFL starts I would be willing to bet you whatever you'd like that people would be lining up to get their autographs, even if it's just for a bag of Funions....I assume Nike is just paying Odell Beckham all that money because they like to hang out with him.Because the market for the autograph of the starting QB of the Nashville Funions is going to be so in demand.Besides, no one buys sneakers because a guy plays in the NFL.
Quick -- name someone who played in the first XFL besides Tommy Maddox and He Hate Me? You can't; it was bad football and immediately forgettable after the initial hype wore off. The same thing will happen here; you're going to get all this corporate symmetry crap, cross-promotional stuff, and a few people will watch. After the buzz goes away, so will the interest.
You do know most people think the NFL players make too much, right?
I think most people get this one.You do know most people are pretty dumb, right? Like--the vast majority of people don't understand the finer points of anything they aren't directly interested or invested in. Across the board.
Huh??LAUNCH said:The XFL has a better chance to make it than the AAF if they start paying guys out of high school decent money.
No I doubt that is the case and even so, most Americans are extremely stupid. Who cares what the public thinks.ZenoRazon said:You do know most people think the NFL players make too much, right?
