I'm too stupid/lazy to do the jailbreak thing. Back in the day, I was all about stuff like that. Now, I pretty much use my phone to text a couple times with my old lady during the day and for playing Battleship while I'm taking a dump at work.If you are able to jailbreak your ios7 device there are some apps I can point you to which can help me debug issues with your battery whether it is user behavior errors or an actual cell problem and whether they'll just swap your phone out.
you can take your phone to the genius bar and have them dump the data. Ios7 jailbreak is not out yet anyways.I'm too stupid/lazy to do the jailbreak thing. How are the defectors addressing migrating music, photos, etc. Apple did a good job of closing up the system, and it's the one thing that keeps me from jumping. I just don't want the headache of migrating all that ####.[/quote
Agree completely. I could sell my 5 for enough to buy a nexus 5 to try out but moving stuff seems a pain.
For me it's not music (I use Spotify) or photos (they're already all on my computer via iCloud). It's all the apps I've purchased that I'd need to re-buy on Android or whatever. That's probably the only thing that will make me pause next time I'm due for an upgrade. How are the defectors addressing migrating music, photos, etc. Apple did a good job of closing up the system, and it's the one thing that keeps me from jumping. I'm curious.... why wouldn't you use something like the flickr app for photos? Free TERABYTE of storage, access your photos on ios, windows, mac, android, etc. I guess I don't understand what the advantage is to keeping yourself locked into the apple ecosystem. How are the defectors addressing migrating music, photos, etc. Apple did a good job of closing up the system, and it's the one thing that keeps me from jumping. Started off with using iphoto on the macbook. then they integrated that with photostream. it's just been easy to stay there. now it's a matter of migration. i could take the time to move everything off the mac onto something like flickr so that i could get a different phone, or i could just go get the next iphone. path of least resistance. eta - its nice to be able to have your entire photo library automatically load onto the appletv too. im sure there's a workaround for that, but once again, it's been made simple for me. etax2 - i also have an ipad so theres some interoperability advantagesI'm curious.... why wouldn't you use something like the flickr app for photos? Abraham said:ThTs the thing. Perhaps android has more features and I'm an idiot for being part of the apple ecosystem. But all the pieces fit together really well and make it easy to stay.
Won't know until it goes live at 4:50. I'm hoping for $20 but it will probably be $30. I'm sure I'll buy it either way as my current one just broke.
Google Music or Play Music as it's called now. You can put all your songs from iTunes into the clould. Helps save memory space on your phone. You can even downlaod certain ones to keep on your phone to play offline. How are the defectors addressing migrating music, photos, etc. Apple did a good job of closing up the system, and it's the one thing that keeps me from jumping. $25. I'm going to give it a try.Won't know until it goes live at 4:50. I'm hoping for $20 but it will probably be $30. I'm sure I'll buy it either way as my current one just broke.
Have it and love it. I carry a folded $20 bill, DL, CC, Debit/ATM card and Corporate Card and it's barely thicker than the iPhone 4 was in a regular case.$25. Awesome. I've been using one from iLid for a while but the quality is terrible. This one will be here tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it.Have it and love it. Ditching the old bulky bill-fold wallet has been liberating!
Sprint is incompatible with T mobile. Sprint is CDMAA friend of mine offered to sell me his 1 month old iPhone 5C (guessing 16gb) for $350. The problem is it's made for Sprint and I'm on T-mobile.
Question #1: Is $350 a good price for an almost (but not quite) new phone.?
Question #2: How hard is it to unlock it so it works on my carrier?
TIA
friend of mine and I were talking about this the other day. We're both seeing it. She just got back from the Apple store and they told her it's a virus. They told her to backup, reset to factory default, and restore. Sounds like BS to me but thought I'd pass it along.Yeah, the battery life thing is infuriating. And it was never an issue until I upgraded to iOS 7. Sometimes the thing will say I have 18% left and then a minute later the phone will shut down. Other times it will be on 1% for hours. It's basically become useless below 20%, there's no guessing whether I have 5 minutes or 5 hours of charge left.

Has anyone else been having this issue:
When I get a notification on my locked screen, sometimes I'll slide it to the right to open the app the notification is from and instead of opening the app, I get the white apple and the phone reboots. It happens to me pretty regularly and it's not associated with any particular app. It seems that any app will do it. Pisses me off. Only started happening since the upgrade.
You can get some none Apple cords and chargers but make sure they are apple certified. There are a lot of lot of generics out there that wont work.I need a car charger and a second lightening cord as well for travel. Do I go apple, or are there generics out there that work just the same. I don't want some cheap cord/charger frying my battery.
I'm no expert, but AT&T and T mobile and maybe a couple more use SIM cards on a GSM network and if carrier unlocked, your phone will work across those networks. Verizon, sprint, C spire and others use CDMA networks and the phones don't use SIM cards. So I think you need a new phone. Is the iphone5 for ATT and Verizon now the same? My employer said I could be on their cell plan, but it's verizon, and I am ATT. Am I going to need a new phone?

Are you using your ipad charger (the big base one) to charge your phone. I've heard (don't have a link) from others that this can lead to problems.Battery issue seems to be getting worse. It shut down on me at 21%, I plugged it into my charger, it turned on and read 44%. WTF?
For some reason I had thought Verizon switched from CDMA.
