The Audible Interview With Lorenzo Booker 2/16 (1 Viewer)

Lorenzo, as a huge FSU fan and alum, I have enjoyed getting to see you play over the course of the past few years. It is a travesty that we did not utilize you more, however your talent was showcased, capped by that performance against UCLA. Care to share any thoughts on the candid column that Deion Sanders wrote in reference to the prospect Noel Devine, and in your opinion, is there validity in his concern? Also, do you see a breakout season for Antone Smith? Did you eat Gordos or Three Guys from New York Pizza? Thanks for your contributions in Tallahassee and BEST of luck in the future!!!

Me too, just posting it for those that haven't. :fishing:

WOW. Lorenzo is the brightest, most interesting player we've interviewed in the last two months, and we've interviewed a ton of guys.

We'll let you know once it's ready - you'll be sold on Booker the person, if not sold on Booker the player, after hearing this interview.

Bright, Interesting? Of COURSE he is, he was a NOLE!!!!Seriously, tho...can't wait to hear the IV. You da man and you da man.

Great interview with Book, ladies. I thought the questions were insightful and intelligent, as were the responses. As I mentioned to Bloom, I smelled a trace hint of the Devine question in the interview, and i'm glad the question about Antone was asked. I don't know what I was doing before I got to FBG, but I won't be going without it in the future!

thanks for listening! I thought it showed real class on Booker's part because he never really bagged on FSU. I'm rooting for this kid big time!

I agree, and he certainly had the opportunity, in fact, that was another 'hint' in the interview, when he discussed his lack of opportunity. He even went out of his way to say that he wanted to commit when he was still at FSU....class I tell ya, class. If we could just continue getting more of those guys like Book and Myron Rolle....

The only reason I'm in this thread is because I did a title search on "Lorenzo Booker" to see if anyone had discussed him here yet. Why did I do that? Because I just heard John Clayton interview him on ESPN radio, and he is THE most impressive rookie I've ever heard interviewed.

He's incredibly well-spoken, gave thoughtful answers, confident, professional.... what an amazing impression he made on me. It was refreshing, quite honestly, to hear an athlete who attended a Florida college be able to string together back-to-back coherent sentences. He sounded a lot like Greg Anthony, in both his voice and intellect.

The funny part is, I heard the interview when I was in my car. As it ended, I thought to myself that I was going to come here and mention how after listening to him, his poise makes him seem like he's a 10-year veteran rather than a rookie. I was going to use those exact words. So Clayton comes back after the break and says "Wow, what an impressive kid Booker is -- he seems like a 10-year veteran." :(

I'll be rooting for him, and I'll get him on as many of my rosters as I can.

More guys like Lorenzo Booker... fewer guys like Randy Moss. That's my battle cry this year!

Welcome Aboard.

Lorenzo was also on Sirius 124 yesterday and I swear that's the longest I've ever heard the personalities keep an '07 rookie on the air. I think he was on with Adam Schein and Jim Miller (dont hold me to it). Usually the rookies are so brutal on air I turn it but thanks to Blooms heads up on the kid I tuned in. Thanks Sig.

I too heard the interview on Sirius, and Booker was extremely impressive. It was so refreshing to hear an interview without a string of "I mean" and "you know" and "uh". Very impressive young man. I'm pulling for him and I am not a "Fins fan.

Good start to camp for Booker

Rookie RB Lorenzo Booker could be a terrific receiver out of the backfield. No LB matched with him had a chance.

Booker left Channing Crowder in the dust. To get open on one play, he juked back-up Derrick Pope so bad the crowd let out a collective “ooohh.”

It’s hard to expect a lot of production from the 195-pound Booker in the running game. Hey, Reggie Bush couldn’t run the ball consistently as a rookie in New Orleans.

Booker still should contribute his share of big plays

Thanks for the update, Bloom. FYI, the link to the MP3 at the start of the thread isn't working.

From yesterday's (07.31) morning session (commentary by Greg Bedard):Lorenzo Booker just took a dump pass and made eight guys miss. It looked like he was playing flag football against guys built like me. He runs with the ball like he’s on skates;

;)

"I want to see Lorenzo Booker make people look dumb because he's done it to us enough. I want to see him embarrass another linebacker."

— Channing Crowder on the Dolphins' third-round draft pick, who has shown shifty moves and great speed at running back
