Week 16 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Brock Purdy @ Miami or Cooper Rush vs TB?
Wow.

Purdy is probably the right choice. I think with Patrick Taylor as the last RB standing more of the offense will shift to Purdy. He also has a deeper WR corps than Rush.

That being said I would still be tempted to risk it with Rushd.
Thanks. Yes, it's not a good situation, but I feel Rush has a chance to score a lot of points against that porus pass defense. I know Purdy has had some bad luck with weather, but he might have the higher floor. Being the underdog I feel Rush has the higher upside today.
I won't argue against Rush. He has 8 TD in his last four games, it's a plus matchup and the Niners feel one match short of a dumpster fire at this point. Burdy has nine TD passes in his last eight games and in five of those games he has two TDs combined.

Need to pick 2 running backs. PPR, League scoring tilts heavily towards rushing yards.

Walker vs Minnesota
Stevenson at Buffalo
Tracy at Atlanta
K Miller at Green Bay

Thanks!
I almost certainly go with Walker because, if he plays I think he sees the most opportunity in a big game for the Seahawks.

After that... man... I probably go with Tracy because it's the best matchup of the bunch. But I can see risking it with Stevenson too.

Hey guys! Need more help!
Goff vs Bears - monster game last week
Hurts vs Commies - could be a shootout

Full PPR pick any 2:
Ford vs Cincy - Bengals struggle against RBs
Tyreek vs 49ers - he’s burned me almost all year
DJ Moore vs DET - Lions are depleted everywhere and can be had thru the air
McMillan vs Cows - my opponent is starting Baker
MHjr vs Panthers - not expecting much

Our defenses score a lot of pts in our league. 25+ pts for low pts/yds allowed.
Packers vs Saints - Rattler was better when he came in for Haener last week
Cardinals vs Panthers - not sure I trust the Cards
Any thoughts would be appreciated. :)

Have one more..must start a rookie every week in one flex/kicker spot.

.5 PPR

J. McMillan vs Dal
T. Tracy vs ATL
C. Little vs LV (kicker)
Interesting rule, I like it.

I probably go with Tracy because I think he'll see the most volume. But, I could easily see a pivot to McMillan.

Hurts & Goff are top 7 QBs but I think I have to go with Hurts because he probably has the higher floor and just as much ceiling.

I have felt a hunch about Chicago all week. That and $4.50 will get you a cup of coffee. Still, I would go with DJ Moore personally. He has a solid target floor and, as you said that Lions defense looks to be in trouble.

Personally, if I had been rolling out Tyreek this long I probably wouldn't stop now but, if you're not loving that I probably pivot to Ford because that is one of the best matchups around.

I take the Packers defense and don't think twice about it.

The Panthers might actually win today, IMO.

PPR - Need 1WR and 2 Flex
Devonta Smith WR
J Myers WR
McMillan WR
Bowers TE
McBride TE
R White RB
D Smith
Bowers/McBride.

I'd rank Bowers and McBride the highest of everyone. Expect big days for both pretty much every week.

Then it's Smith vs Jakobi for me. They're right next to each other in multiple rankings websites. I've told some other folks to go Jakobi over Smith.
In a vaccuum, I still think Jakobi. But I can't recommend starting two Raiders. If you already have Bowers, I'm playing him and benching Jakobi.
Hope all the targets go to Bowers. Then play Smith.

PPR
McLaurin vs Philly
or
Kupp at NYJ
Tough call. I am not benching McLaurin for many guys ATM. Kupp is an interesting case.

I think I would personally stick with McLaurin because he's just been so good and finds the end zone with crazy consistency but... I can totally see going with Kupp.

Sam Darnold @ Seattle
Anthony Richardson v TEN

Distance scoring league.
Darnold.

I worry about Richardson turning back into a pumpkin any given week . Darnold has been good.
We maybe associate Richardson with the deep bomb TD's, but Addison breaks big plays seemingly left and right of late.

Four RBs. Can only choose two:

Jonathan Taylor
Chuba Hubbard
Bucky Irving
Rico Dowdle

I've got Taylor and Irving as my starters at the moment. But Hubbard is gnawing at me...
I am rolling with Taylor personally over those options.

After that it's very close for me. If you like Irving then you should absolutely roll him out. I could see going back and forth a lot here. My personal impulse ATM is Chuba because I think they have a winnable game today and I think he'll see great volume. But Irving has been on a legit tear lately so he is absolutely a good call.

... and my Wide Receivers. They have been the weak link in my fantasy season. A. Cooper, C. Ridley, D. Mooney.... hell, even Kupp screwed me over last week. Lots of losses attributed to a lot of mediocre — if not awful — performances. So I gutted them and landed on these:

Kupp (kept him)
Addison
McMillan
Doubs
Jeudy (missed his huge week 14)

Kupp, Addison, and Jeudy occupy my starting lineup. But McMillan I hear is on fire recently. But I'm hesitant to start him, because I tend to "miss the boat", and my waiver acquisitions cool-off when I acquire and first start them.

Any thoughts? Thanks! 🙏🏻
My first thought was Kupp, Addison and Jeudy but I would definitely consider benching Jeudy for McMillan because DTR has, thus far, not shown much as a QB in the NFL. Baker Mayfield is legit.

PPR - Need 1WR and 2 Flex
Devonta Smith WR
J Myers WR
McMillan WR
Bowers TE
McBride TE
R White RB
Devonta, Bowers & McBride without much hesitation for me. Volume and/or TD upside for all of them (McBride has to score a TD eventually, right? RIGHT?)

Dowdle or Devonta Smith for flex option .5 ppr
Hmmmmm... Dowdle has been on a very nice roll. Not a lot of TD upside but he seems a lock for 20+ touches each week so I think I go with that.

Being said Devonta has better TD upside IMO and, if TB rolls Dallas Dowdle may be closer to 15 opportunities.

Brock Purdy @ Miami or Cooper Rush vs TB?
I think this is actually REALLY close.

I typed Purdy right away. But looking at it...

Purdy has been MID for a minute. 4 TD's the last 4 weeks. He's averaged 180 passing yards over that time span. Miami gives up the 2nd least FPPG to QB's. They're as unfriendly as it gets.

Rush is averaging 210 yards and 2 TD's per game over his last 4. And someone somewhere is thinking "Yeah, but look at the defenses. Carolina, Cincy, NYG..." Tampa gives up the SECOND MOST FPPG to QB's.

BUT WAIT...THERE'S MORE. Antoine Winfield Jr, their 1st team all pro safety last year (and my IDP team's star DB), is OUT.

All of my go to websites have Purdy ranked higher. I think to an extent, we see things a certain way, and that becomes locked in our minds. I honestly at first questioned if you were being funny with the post.

It's a little bold and ballsy and goes against the grain. But I actually would prefer to avoid starting Purdy based on the last 4 weeks. I always say "I don't want to risk my fantasy playoffs on whatever no name backup player is in the question vs an established starter" But at some point, we have to start acknowledging the recent data. Purdy is down Aiyuk and CMC. He has an absolutely brutal matchup today.

I would go Rush. It's a little crazy, and Purdy could totally bounce back today. But for a game of trying to decipher data and predict the future, all signs point to Rush.

Dowdle or Devonta Smith for flex option .5 ppr
Dowdle comfortably.

Saquon dominated Washington last time. I'd worry about a repeat.

TB is going to score points. Their secondary is bad and injured. They're going to give up points. I expect Dallas to be scoring points and in it. I expect Dowdle to get his touches including some redzone looks.

Flex

Tyjae Spears or Amari Cooper ?

PPR
Do you have ANYONE else?

It sounds like Pollard will go. Spears may see more touches with Pollard being dinged up. Spears may see 5 touches.
Cooper has been objectively awful since going to Buffalo.

Four RBs. Can only choose two:

Jonathan Taylor
Chuba Hubbard
Bucky Irving
Rico Dowdle

I've got Taylor and Irving as my starters at the moment. But Hubbard is gnawing at me...
I'm actually going to rank Hubbard #1. Arizona gives up the 7th most FPPG to RB's. Bryce has figured something out, and the Carolina offense has been more competent of late. Most websites have Chubba as a top 10 play, and I agree.

All 3 of the other options are really good too. I'd be happy starting any of the 3.

I think Taylor's just the best RB on the list. It's a silly thing to base your playoff decisions on--but I truly believe they'll try to get Taylor a makeup TD for last week's mistake.

Bucky has the 2nd best matchup. Dallas gives up the 8th most FPPG to RB. I just worry about White taking enough touches to be annoying--vs Taylor is pretty much gonna see all of the work.

This post is one of the best I've read i awhile. It was so well thought out and analyzed. I wasn't being funny, I have Rush in over Purdy. I'm the underdog and feel Rush has the higher upside this week. I said this week, so I'm not confused as to what Rush is and what Purdy can be, but I love the Rush matchup against the Bucs and hate the matchup of Purdy @ Miami.

PPR

Cooper has been objectively awful since going to Buffalo.
Kyle Pitts, WanDale Robinson are on the wire.
I had Nojoku but he’s questionable.
I think you just gotta hitch your wagon to the best QB and hope for the best in this situation.

Josh Allen is the best QB obviously. Start Cooper and hope it's his day.

.5 PT PPR flex...need 1:

Jeudy @ CIN
Jamo @ CHI
KMiller @ GB
PTaylor @ MIA
Tough call. I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

I lean Kendre Miller because you can hope for some volume but I could also see a shut out from Green Bay.

Jameson is more interesting with the Detroit defense so banged up (maybe Chicago can score more) and he hasn't had fewer than five targets in six weeks.

Yeah, I probably go with Kendre but it's close.

Hubbard is also pretty much the lone back for Car, while Irving will share with White — even if just some.

And yes, it's hard to bench Taylor — although I did last week, and am glad I did!

Agree with this. It's really close between those 2. In half PPR, I usually side with the RB.

Standard scoring in the flex spot:

Patrick @ Miami
Miller @ GB

Separate league standard scoring as well. RB Question:

BRob vs Eagles
Ford @ Cincy
Hall vs LAR

TIA 🎄🎄🎄

PPR league
Kincaid vs New England
Njoku at Cincy
Ferguson vs Tampa Bay

Strange was just picked up. Do I stick with Kincaid or drop him for Njoku or Ferguson? I am a slight favorite. Thanks!

Need one QB of Stafford at Jets or Love vs. Saints.

Jets defense clearly not the same since Saleh's firing. Both QBs playing well. The weather for Packers-Saints looks to be worse and with the Saints playing Rattler expecting the Packers to be more conservative and with the weather doing more running.

I am leaning Stafford but it seems like a tossup either way. Thanks in advance.
I guess I could worry a bit about this shaping up as a Josh Jacobs game in Green Bay. Love could still get you 200-2 but I don't think they'll need a heroic effort to win this on so I think he's capped a bit.

I think Stafford has a great coaching staff and skill position players around him.

Stafford>Love
Does today's weather change your mind at all? Weather in NY is 22 degrees (11 wind chill) with wind from 8 to 10 MPH, gusting to 19.

In Green Bay it will be About 30 degrees at kickoff, with a slight chance of wintery mix and wind gusting to 10 MPH.

Honestly I don't like either. Have a feeling both games will be more run heavy.

Jeudy vs. McMillan has been the main conflict in my head. DTR has me spooked, and as you say, Mayfield is legit.

Kupp hopefully won't be totally overshadowed by Nacua today... and I like Addison.

Thanks.

K Miller vs GB or Tracy vs ATL? Full PPR
I've seen this one a few times and lean Tracy because he's a more known commodity and it's a better matchup. But I can see the argument that Singletary will take more away from Tracy than anyone will take from Miller.

It's very close but I still lean Tracy.
