The Audible LIVE! - 4/21/11 - NFL Draft Talk - 10pm ET (1 Viewer)

Hey Cecil and Sig, Dynasty Greg here. Hope all is well with you and your families.

My question this week centers on the future prospects of Jeremiah Johnson. There is no doubt that Denver needs another RB to compliment Moreno. Could Johnson emerge as that guy?

I'm stubbornly hanging on to him in several deep dynasty leagues.

Thanks as always for your insights and thoughts.

— Dynasty Greg

A couple of draft questions for you guys:

1. How many trades do you think there will be in the first round this year?

2. Do you think there is any chance that the Panthers take Ryan Mallett (I know, just bear with me) with the 1st pick? That report about him came out this week from Brad Biggs at NFP, but the team denied it, as did Mallett's agent. Mallett is a heck of a player, is a much more polished passer than Newton and can make a more immediate impact. He can also call a play from his college system unlike Newton. I know it sounds crazy, but as a Panthers fan I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was at least in the discussion.

I am looking forward to the draft show that was mentioned in a previous edition of the Audible, but I forgot to jot down the name of the show and/or the website for it. Can you please repeat the info. so I can tune in for the awesome draft coverage? Thanks.

Question regarding rookie QB's: Every year we hear so much about QB tangibles, intangibles, what type of system they would or wouldn't fit well in etc. I'd like to know if over the years while watching game tape you've (Matt in particular) seen a QB be challenged and shaken up by what the defense is throwing at him and if that QB was able to make adjustments in order to take control of the game? Do any of the QB's in this class have a number of those types of games on their collegiate resume?

Thanks, love the show.

I just read Schefter's Article on the week 3 match-ups and that every game that week has teams which share the same bye week later in the season. That means the teams could make up that week's games on what was originally scheduled to be their bye.

Interesting built-in contingency plan by the league

Are there fantasy implications here to discuss?

I really don't consider byes too much when drafting, expect planning for the gauntlet. Would like to get the roundtable knights take.

Best

Gentlemen,

if there is no football, and therefore no fantasy football, how will you pass time time? Fantasy water polo? Fantasy women's lacrosse? Fantasy Iron Chef America? Drug induced coma? How will you cope?

I have a question for you gentlemen, if you combine last year QB class and this years. Who would be in all of yours top 10?

Who are a few current NFL RBs outside the top 10-15 that each of you think are undervalued right now in terms of dynasty leagues?
These are guys way outside the top 10-15, but I have a lot of love for them and hope to see them get more playing time.RavensJalen Parmele  one of my favorite dynasty RBs Curtis Steele instinctive, low center of gravity, saw him at Tx v Nation game last year - super deep dynasty onlyFalconsAntone Smith gets small, bowling ball with legs, initial quickness, durability a concern - super deep dynasty onlyGartrell Johnson - going to fall off this list if I don't see more from him this year, willing to give another chance in deep dynastyBengalsCedric Peerman - see Gartrell Johnson abovePanthersTyrell Sutton - instinctive, quick, agile, good receiver, versatile (even played FB for CAR even though he's not a big back) could start for other teams in the league IMHOJosh Vaughan - strength, pad level, determination - super deep dynasty league onlyBrownsMontario Hardesty - ranked just on physical talent Hardesty is a top 10 RB - elite gifts but an injury history that reads like Infinite Jest.BroncosJeremiah Johnson - could be a poor man's Mike Goodson under John Fox, durability a huge concern, super deep dynasty only.Brandon Minor - instincts, grinder, super deep dynasty leagues only.Cowboys Lonyae Miller - straight line speed, good receiver out of the backfield, deep dynasty prospect.ColtsMike Hart - determination, leg drive, low center of gravity, durability a concern.PackersDimitri Nance - saw him at Shrine Game 2 yrs ago and impressed me, low, leg drive, gets to top speed quickly, instincts, deep dynasty prospect JaguarsDeji Karim - saw him at TX v Nation game 2 yrs ago and impressed me, change of direction, middle class MJD, center of gravity, leg drive, power.SaintsLynell Hamilton - always loved him since freshmen year at SDSU years ago, tough, instinctive, durability a big concern, was going to be a bigger part of the ground game last year but got hurt.Dolphins Kory Sheets - great stiff arm, good receiver, last year I'll hold onto him if he doesn't show something.SteelersIsaac Redman - love the power and heartJonathan Dwyer - talent is there but needs to mature and be more patientBuccaneersKregg Lumpkin - former Bulldogs backs get a lot of love from me, Lumpkin gets to top speed quickly, runs with some pop, last year I'll hold onto him - deep dynasty leagues only.TitansHerb Donaldson - power back who loves contact, super deep dynasty league only.RedskinsShawnbrey McNeal - change of direction skills, decent speed, receiver out of backfield, super deep dynasty leagues only.Keiland Williams - I'm an LSU fan and have always loved Williams more than Charles Scott (drafted by Eagles, cut, now on Giants PS). We saw Williams have some success last year but he also got in the doghouse with Shanny for mental mistakes.
