Grant vs Starks

Discuss who will start and if there is value for either one as the Packers are clearly a pass first pass always team. Does Kuhn make it a 3 headed monster or is he the new 3rd down back?

Love the show btw....

Gentlemen of The Audible, I'd be curious to get your thoughts on the Buffalo Bills' running back situation, as unsexy as it may be.

Does Fred Jackson remain the lead Clydesdale, or does C.J. Spiller turn into more than just a glorified kick returner? And what do you make of Johnny White's chances to contribute as a rookie?

Thanks, guys.

Gentlemen,

Great show! You guys are a big reason why I contend for the title in every one of my leagues.

I won my keeper league last year and I have a question about who to keep and who to dump. I can keep up to three of the following players in exchange for a pick in the designated round:

QB Bradford (12th), RB R.Jennings (13th), RB Bradshaw (3rd), WR M.Williams SEA (11th), WR M.Williams TB (6th), TE Finley (8th), TE Graham (12th), TE TOASTY (14th)

Any players I don't keep can be floated as trade bait for picks prior to the draft. I'm leaing towards Bradford, one of the Mike Williamses, and one of the tight ends but that's where I get stuck. SEA Mike has a better value than TB Mike based on current ADP but I'm concerned about the state of the SEA passing game. And Finley for an 8th seems like a steal, but can he stay healthy? Should I keep Graham instead and use Finley's keeper value to improve my picks in the draft? Do any of these other guys have trade value?

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Mike

Free Agent frenzy is done, so we can start talking strategy!!!

1. Please rank the 5 Worst Offenses for 2011 (I will target Defensive Teams against them)

2. Please rank the 5 Worst Defenses for 2011 (I will target my Offensive players against them)

Thanks!!!

To the 3 amigo's - so, I have listened to this show for a couple of years now and thought I could try and add a South African word to the catchy vocab you guys have back and worth.

The word is howzit (pronounced Hows it), meaning hello and how are you all in one - maybe it sticks, maybe it doesn't....we can't all find the motor boat legend, but anyway, on to some football!!

My question - are there any players a week or so into training camps that you now have your eye on that you had no interest in, or didn't know about/didn't think you would care about?

Thanks as always for the great show.

So there's an interesting Mike Vick as 1.1 thread here in the SP and it made me think -

A LOT of folks are saying Vick should be the first Qb taken, lauding his phenomenal stats from 2010 as proof. (This is also true of the 1.1 argument).

The question I pose is this:

We constantly warn not to chase stats. Not to extrapolate last year's yardage as assurances of this year's success. And yet, as a whole, it seems like that is EXACTLY what everyone is doing. I suppose we could say the same of Arian Foster, Jamaal Charles, Greg Jennings......but Vick seems to really capture this problem the most clearly I've seen in a long time.

How would you recommend to our readers to approach parsing what is a true sign of things to come and what is in simplest terms stat chasing to a fault? It seems to me that Vick is a great pivot point for this discussion but it works for a few players and I don't want to get mired into yet another entertaining discussion about Vick and not touch on the larger point.

I know how I approach it but would love to hear your takes and I think this year more than any in some time, this insight could save FANTASY LIVES !!!!!

I'll hang up and listen. ;)

You guys are the best in the Bizz!

#1) The Raven #2 RB/Rice handcuff

I own Rice in all my leagues and last year I hitched my wagons to Parmele as the handcuff.

What are the odds that the Ravens go with Parmele over another free agent (who is left?) or Allen?

If Rice was to go down what level RB would Parmele be in PPR?

#2) Cheap QBBC

Can you recommend a cheap QBBC combo, I'm talking 2 guys ranked #12 and beyond that have a good combined schedule together.

Thank god it's Thursday! Would love to here some discussion on where you guys feels is the best spot or spots to draft from in ppr leagues this year. This discussion really helped me win my league last year as the draft just seemed to fall into place.

Thanks Guys!

I know Matt and Sig have quite different views about the respective values of Ryan Matthews and Mike Tolbert. I was just looking for a bit of debate regarding these two players and how things might shake out for them in the coming year.

Thanks

Hi guys, what's up? Love the show! :D

You were pretty high on Lance Moore when Bush couldn't play. Now Bush moved on, but the Saints signed Sproles. How does the Sproles signing affect Moores value? And what can we expect from Sproles this year?

Keep up the good work! And thank you for moving back to two hours again!

Truly Yours

Hey Guys,

I'm glad there's a season! I've got a question for you about valuing QBs. When you watch film, what traits do you watch for in a QB to determine their value? When I watch film on RBs, I can see them shift or dance in the backfield, etc. What do you look for in QBs?

Which QBs are undervalued this season? Last week Wildman talked about McNabb. What about Stafford, Bradford, Freeman?

Thanks guys! Love the show!

The Bucs backfield specifically Blount. How will the loss of Caddy affect his value? Who will get the goalline carries?

Thanks

Great great great show guys! Can you please convince me why it's a good idea to draft Shave Vereen? Thanks!

Guys,

My gut is telling me these guys are in for a bad year: MJD, Mr Manning, Mike Wallace, and Brandon Marshall. As Joe Pesci would say "Are yous wit me?" And who's on your list?

-Sharks Rule and It's my week!

Hey Guys,

Could you give us your take on the way the Bengals are staying WAY below the cap this year?

The fans there are really up in arms, but it looks like during 2011 and 2012, the effect of the 99% salary cap league-wide CASH spend is going to allow cheapskate owners like Brown to cut his payroll to the bone and milk the franchise for 10's of millions during 2011 and 2012.

Why is the NFL allowing this, do you think? Was the concession of no floor during 2011 and 2012 really necessary to get 31 'yeses' and one abstention on the new CBA?

MW

Great work as always fellas.

Dynasty Auction league $200 cap, PPR league start 2RBs, 2WRs and Flex, TE, K, D. Should I trade Mendenhall ($40) for Forte ($20) straight up due to Forte's price being so cheap? Will Barber affect Forte's value much?

Thanks.

Can you guys each give your top 5 picks for a start 2QB dynasty rookie draft. My team is loaded with everything except backs. I have picks 1,2, and 5 in part because of how you guys raved about this 2010 class being so epic. Now I've got the picks you advise me to get last year, how do I spend them?

Who are players that you were down on a few weeks ago but have already seemed to be turning the corner with the limited practices we've seen. I know Cecil has been tweeting good things about Moreno and apparently Chad Ochocinco is working hard in Patriot land.

Any others?

Love the show, fellas.

Cec - as a Julius Thomas dynasty owner, I've loved seeing your glowing reports from the first week of training camp.

In light of a lot of situational questions (who's going to be their QB? Will Thomas stay with the 1's like he's been lately? Will Foxy even use the TE? etc.), my question is this: do you guys envision him having value this season (i.e. in a redraft?) What sort of numbers do you predict for him for this year? Where would he slot in your TE redraft rankings?

Thanks!

IPD

Can you guys add tiers to your rankings or somewhere? Sig was talking about knowing your tiers to aid in drafting and trading down picks.... is this anywhere on footballguys?

keep up the good work and is there a date on the podcasts for skill players for each team ..... it is invaluable!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS FOR THE IN RANKING NOTES IN THE MOBILE SITE!!!!!!!!

What are your thoughts on the 49ers offseason?

Give me your glass half full and half empty versions of what they are upto...

Gentlemen, absolutely love the show

Now that training camp has began, do we have any clarity on the Rams wr position?

As discussed, with the Bradford/McDaniels fireworks ensuing, at least 1 if not 2 or 3 of these guys will have value in ppr.

Thanks for all you do. RIP: Rock out with your lockout

Hey guys... Long time listener, first time caller! :)

I have a question about how you rank Re-draft leagues. Why would they be ranked any differently than a regular league? Maybe I don't have the correct definition of "redraft"?

I'm in a 16 team Keeper (4) league, this is the 1st season we get to keep players. Draft value increase +1 each year, max 4 years per player per team. (Trades refresh count)

I finished 2nd last year, but as always made a big splash in free agency. Free agents get back loaded at the end of the 23round draft. (6 low value IDP slots included) otherwise we're a pretty standard PPR except all TD's count for 6 points. (Pass 50yrds/pt, Rush-Rec 20/pt Ret 30/pt.)

Here is a list of the players I have available and their draft values.

2 Antonio Gates (SD - TE)

3 Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG - RB)

4 Wes Welker (NE - WR)

9 Trent Cole (Phi - DE)

14 Osi Umenyiora (NYG - DE)

Free Agents, in order of acquisition.

1 Michael Vick (Phi - QB)

2 BenJarvus Green-Ellis (NE - RB)

3 Lance Moore (NO - WR)

4 Tramon Williams (GB - CB)

5 Derrick Johnson (KC - LB)

6 LeGarrette Blount (TB - RB)

7 Mohamed Massaquoi (Cle - WR)

8 Emmanuel Sanders (Pit - WR)

9 Ben Obomanu (Sea - WR)

10 Jahvid Best (Det - RB)

11 Steve Johnson (Buf - WR)

12 Ryan Torain (Was - RB)

13 Andrew Quarless (GB - TE)

14 David Buehler (Dal - K)

15 Devin McCourtyP (NE - CB)

16 James Farrior (Pit - LB)

17 Christopher IvoryQ (NO - RB)

18 Jimmy Graham (NO - TE)

Vick is a no-brainer since he'll go 20th round or greater. Which 3 others would you recommend? I've targeted "Lawfirm", Moore, Best, and Steve Johnson but I saw that you have Blount rated higher... Or do you see better value in Gates,Bradshaw or Welker? (Will Steve repeat?)

Best is my hometown pick, so I'm a bit tainted there. I love having Leshoure availabe to the team, does he kick Best out of my fantasies?

Standard ppr rookie drafts. The top 3 still are the same, but has free agency and early camp reports changed your ranking of the next group of players at all?

Thanks a lot

What are your thoughs on Greg Olsen, Roy Williams and Jhavid Best for the 2011 season? These are 3 guys going late in drafts, who I think could have great value...

Buy or sell. Steven Jackson as a top 10 RB in PPR leagues this year. He is a year older and has more tread on the tires, rumors swirl that he'll be more involved the in the passing game.

Hey guys, I'm getting into lots of debate with people about elite quarterbacks. It seems to be fashionable this year to target the top QB's since the top QB's for the last few years have remained relatively stable and predictable compared to the other 2 skill positions. However it still seems that even an "elite guy" like Philip Rivers still only puts up about 3 points more than a "scrub" like Eli Manning or Josh Freeman. What are your thoughts, are you coming around to the idea of taking a guy like Drew Brees in the second round or is the QBBC strategy still king at FBG?

Hey guys, (it's "Wolvereeeeeph," by the way)

Being a weekly listener of the show, I felt that it's been a while since I've heard your takes on two guys in particular: Michael Turner and Shonne Greene. Both I feel lack buzz as of now and I wondered if you might agree with me in thinking that their ADPs are sneaking down the charts enough to make a value of them. I do remember that the last I heard of Greene from the Audible was some hatin, but thanks for the input. Love the show!

Hey guys, I have a startup dynasty draft Sunday for a deep 10 team PPR league. starts 1 QB, 5 WR, 4 RB, 2 TE, 1 Offensive Player Flex, and 1 D/ST with 40 man rosters and 5 man practice squad. We are doing a snake draft and I have the 6th pick. I was offered a 2nd, 5th, and 7th for the pick from the guy with the top pick. I used the Value Pick Calculator and it shows a 39% improvement. Seems like a no brainer but in a league where you can start 2 QB's, waiting til pick 15 might leave me on the outside looking in. The QB run will start no later than the 5th pick. Thoughts? Thanks guys and keep up the outstanding work.

Hey guys,

We all know Waldman is high on Big Mike Williams this year, or at least he was before the addition or Sidney Rice. What does Mr. Bloom see in store for BMW this year?

What's your outlook on Ahmad Bradshaw this year fellas. Can he jump into the top 10 rbs? And what tier would you place him in for a dynasty draft startup.

Andre Roberts: do you guys think he will win the WR2 in AZ now that the Braylon Edwards' threat is off the board? To expand the question, which of the second year WRs who didn't break out last year as rookies (No Tampa Mike or Dez)do you think will emerge this year as serious fantasy players?

Can you guys add tiers to your rankings or somewhere? Sig was talking about knowing your tiers to aid in drafting and trading down picks.... is this anywhere on footballguys?keep up the good work and is there a date on the podcasts for skill players for each team ..... it is invaluable!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS FOR THE NOTES WITHIN YOUR PLAYER RANKINGS!!!!!!!

Alright it was nice to hear you guys again, but for pete's sake, Sig, you have to call Matt on his crazy. I missed Cecil. I was mad until I heard his excuse. Sure hope all is well with that situation.

Next time Matt starts this passive aggressive defense of players he's overinvested in intellectually, I am going to call and say what Sig is thinking. And I'm not kind and thoughtful like Bloom, Matt. ;)

Kudos to Matt for showing some Bradshaw love. I think you guys have him pretty underrated. Really great RB2, ESPECIALLY in a PPR.

We have the greatest listeners in all of podcasting, terrestrial radio, or satellite radio!

I just wanted to give a heart felt 'thanks!!' to all who have reached out via Twitter, sending along your good vibes. It is very much appreciated. My wife is recovering well from surgery and it looks like the worst may be behind us. Thanks again for you continued support of the show, of Footballguys, and most of all thanks for being a great bunch of people!
