Week 11 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Chaka

Footballguy
This is where we ask questions and offer help.

Thank you to all the posters who come here to offer that help.

A couple notes:

I attempt to give well considered responses to all questions posted. I can't get to everything, but I'll try.

1) This only works if people participate. If you ask for help it is good form to offer help to someone else.

2) Please post the matchup. e.g. Cousins vs Den or James Cook @ Mia

3) Please post important league scoring considerations (e.g. PPR, super-flex etc).

4) Please go easy on the nicknames, save that for other threads. We can't help if we don't know who you are talking about.

View this as an exercise to help focus your thoughts about teams in general. Players you own may not be involved in these WDIS questions but certainly you will own players on many of these teams. Analyzing other players will help you identify things you may have otherwise not considered.

Let's move on to week 11

Also, let's try to remember this is a crowdsourcing thread. I make every effort to answer every single post but I can't always make that happen. So, if you are here asking for help it would be great if you also offered help to others in here.

TIA

Quick QB question, standard scoring, who do you prefer for this week and ROS?

Herbert vs Bengals - pretty soft matchup but Chargers winning without throwing too much generally
G.Smith @ Niners - huge game before the bye, gets DK back but this looks tough
Darnold @ Titans - yuck, just yuck. Had been playing ok but just made the terrible Jags secondary look like the 85 Bears
R.Wilson vs Ravens - starting to look the part, has Williams as well as Pickens

I'll start.

PPR

Need one WR:

CeeDee Lamb v HOU
DeAndre Hopkins @ BUF
Jayden Reed @ CHI

Is it time to bench CeeDee?

I'm thinking it comes down to Wilson and maybe Herbert RoS. At this point I probably lean Wilson.

Oh that's so tough. I think I might stay with CeeDee one more week, mainly because the others have bad matchups anyway. I probably rank them Lamb->Hopkins->Reed but with very limited confidence.

Herbert or Daniels? Daniels vs. Philly scares me a bit...:scared:
Daniels has been too good IMO.
Last week was tough and he gave me half of what Herbert gave me and I got my 1st loss of the season. In my league Philly rated 4th toughest vs. QBs, Cincy rated 4th easiest vs. QBs.
Herbert is on a bit of a run over his last three games, it is a great matchup and he can run.

Maybe it's a trend with him. Nothing wrong with giving him a shot.

Daniels vs Philly or Nix vs Atlanta? 6 points per passing TD
I can understand going with Nix the same way I can see going with Herbert over Daniels. It's a good matchup, at home and he is on a nice three game run.

Personally, I would go with Daniels because I think he has more ceiling but, in reality Nix's high scoring game this year>Daniels's high scoring game (23>22). So...

JSN or Tee Higgins assuming both to be fully healthy by Sunday morning and reported as a full go.

JSN has been stated that the offense wants to get him more involved after his special showing, even with Metcalf back.

Tee has had games where he comes back from injury and is a decoy in the past.

My gut says JSN. Interesting a lot of rankings out there have Higgins ranked above him.

So I have arrived at the Sharkpool for the final say from my fellow gilled brethren than cannot stop moving or we die. (which is why my team has so many transactions every year churning through lottery tickets weekly)

I don't get why Higgins would be ranked higher. And I can't rely on his health.

IMO JSN

Same boat as you with CeeDee. I am just praying last week was the old first start in a while for Rush and let's get him up to game speed. Remeber, last week CeeDee was super close to a TD but was blinded by the sun. He finished with 8.x points in my full PPR league. If that sun didn't blind him at that exact time, we would be looking at another point for the catch, some points for the yards, 6 for the TD for a total of 16.x instead of the posted 8.x. Not bad for Rush at QB.

Daniels.

JSN until Higgins is healthy. Higgins when he has played in full PPR has put up great numbers. Until he his healthy though can't trust him.

Full PPR league.

Start 2 RB of the following:
Hall
Hunt
Monty

Start 2 WR of the following:
Lamb
Smith
London

Flex 1 from the above that wasn't chosen.

Right now I have Hall and Hunt as my RBs, Lamb and Smith as my WRs, and Monty as my Flex. London is a tough sit but Broncos/Surtain II on deck makes me very cautious. That dude is for real.

Definitely start Monty IMO. That matchup at home is too tempting.

Between Hall & Hunt I want to say Hall but the Bills are a run funnel and Hunt has a TD in four of six games with the Chiefs. There is a good chance that this turns into a Allen v Mahomes "anything you can do, I can do better" situation but the numbers say to go with Hunt. And Hunt demonstrated last week he can still be involved in the passing game.

I probably fill your last spots (2WR+Flex) with the three WRs just because I think they all have better opportunity for a TD than Hall. But if I were to bench one for Hall it would be Devonta. He's a bit dinged up and can sometimes be a forgotten man in this offense.

It's very close, IMO, between Hall and Smith. Hall will definitely get more touches, honestly he may be the better play than Smith. It's just he has also been so disappointing on the TD front.

Don't trust Hall anymore. I go Monty and Hunt.

WR selection - hard to answer without matchups but having looked them up, I go Lamb and Smith. Flex, probably Hall I guess, though I just don't trust him, he's good for 8-10 points.

Full PPR:
I have J. Downs in my lineup
Colts just announced Richardson is starting this week and for the ROS
Should I replace Downs with The Bills K.Shakir this week?

Colts @ NYJ
Bills vs KC

Ugh. Probably.

Definitely in PPR. With Richardson at QB your hope is a big play TD. Shakir is a more sure bet.

I think Herbet is the best real life QB and is worthy of being the guy but This week I'd go with Wilson given the Raven's pass D. For Fantasy ROS I might go Wilson then Herbert but it's close

Khalil Shakir vs KC
Jameson Williams vs Jax
Cedric Tillman @ NO
CeeDeeLamb vs. Hou

I need 2 of the above. I wasn't going to add Lamb but might as well since he's no longer a slam Dunk

I think you wait a week on benching CeeDee. As @1320kid mentioned, he was close to a fine game last week and still got 10 targets. I go with Tillman as my next option. I worry a little about a post bye letdown but it's a nice matchup and he was getting mad volume before the bye.

Jameson is too low volume and that game could involve a lot of running by Detroit.

And Shakir isn't doing much even when he gets volume.

Standard Scoring ...

Pick 1 QB
Mahomes @ Buf
Daniels @ Phi

Pick 2 FLEX (1 must be a WR) - already starting CMC and Barkley
JTaylor @ NYJ
JJacobs @ Chi
ARSB vs Jax
NCollins @ Dal
Tyreek vs LV

Thanks!

I think Mahomes because he usually shows up big in big games.

For your flex spots you can easily flip a coin on both and be very happy.

I would flip flop a bunch of times between now and Sunday but my leaning is Taylor & Nico. But really, any of those guys could put up a monster for you.

Take it to the I've Got A Golden Ticket thread, pal.
No such thing ... I am 4-6 in a 14 team league thanks to playing wrong teams the wrong week or a complete collapse like last week. Currently on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. One game out with 4 to play.

Lol wth is this a 4 man league?

But Daniels and JT and ARSB.
LOL ... no 14 team just keep adding pieces ... didn't mention I have Dell, McConkey and JSN on my bench as well

I currently have Mahomes, JT, and Nico in. I worry that Detroit will just run the ball vs Jax

As a Monty owner nothing would please me more. But I’m playing the guy with ARSB so by that metric alone he will have a game. Lol but yes game script says they should theoretically run all over them. Nico is was my other choice too.

Daniels vs Philly or Nix vs Atlanta? 6 points per passing TD

I'm in the exact same dilemma. I am leaning Nix, but it is certainly hard to bench Daniels and I am having 2nd thoughts. My opponent has Sutton and I have McLaurin so maybe I'm hedging a little which is making me lean more towards Nix. But the boom or bust of having Daniels + McLaurin in a difficult matchup, and a down game from Daniels last week against Pitt is scaring me. (Although he should have had at least 1 TD, maybe 2 which would have made his numbers look fine).

That’s thing thing I’m struggling with on Daniels as well. Will Ekeler continue to get the goal line carries

Najee Harris vs Bal
Audric Estime vs Atl

Harris if he is able to play. I know Estime is the hot waiver pickup but I personally wait until they string a few good games together before I plug recent waiver adds into my lineup.

Ok.
Replace Ekeler with BRob in my question.

Just wondering if JD is still a little gun shy taking hits at the line since his injury. Before that, it seemed it was never a second thought to him to take it and run it in.

He could definitely be mitigating risk in prep for the post season. That being said, I think the Eagles will put up points and he will have to play hero more than Nix will in his game since DEN defense keeps their oppenents in check.

4/pass TD need 2

Purdy vs Seahawks
Carr at Browns
Cousins at Broncos
Stroud at Cowboys

If Nico is back then that points towards leaning Stroud but with the Dallas dumpster fire will they even need to pass?

Agree on Stroud regardless of game script. Purdy, IMO if Nico doesn't play, or if your worried about game script.

Standard scoring non-ppr league. I need to start 1 of these 3 WR's to go along with Justin Jefferson:

Pickens vs BAL - Wilson is making him relevant
Downs vs NYJ - He probably avoids Sauce being in the slot
Tillman vs NO - Is proving everyone wrong week over week

Thoughts?
