Simmons' first HBO project is apparently a 30 for 30 style documentary on Andre the Giant.
It will be interesting if they manage to get beyond the stock apocryphal stuff that I've seen everywhere. "He got rides to school with Samuel Beckett!" "He drank six litres of red win to get a buzz!"
"And now here's Tony Romo, calling in on a cell phone from a tunnel somewhere on the other side of the world..."I enjoyed the SalCast this week with Bill, but man how much must have @mr. furley hated the knob slob of Tony Romo for the last 20 minutes? Especially after Romo "Uhh...ughhh....eeemmmmmm....hmmmm...errrreeeeddddd...." his way through every replay of the AFC Championship? (I like Romo but he was painfully bad in that game.)
He's an innovator. Give him credit for that.He annoys me too much for me to listen to the podcast anymore, but I'll forgive him if this is as good as it should be:

Yeah, it's the worst of all podcasters.Peyton Marino said:We've covered this before, but his ad reads are simply horrible. It's like he is forcing himself to inject emotion into the reads, but he's an awful actor, so he just ends up emphasizing random words and changing inflection at weird times for no reason.
I don't know. I didn't find it that way at all. That's a crazy/sad story that certainly should be told.Yup.
Am I crazy or did he not say the same thing about the Durant to GS rumors two years ago, right down to the "this is planted to mess with their chemistry!"?Bill Simmons @BillSimmons 5h5 hours ago
This LeBron/GSW “rumor” is such an obvious plant by LeBron’s camp to (a) pressure the Cavs to trade that Nets pick/players for help, (b) unsettle GSW’s chemistry, and (c) pressure the Lakers to create cap space for him/others. I can’t believe anyone took it seriously. Come on.
Maybe. If at any point he'd said, "This is very humbling, and an honor. It puts things in perspective" I would have felt like he has any sense of the world outside of himself. The way he told it just reinforced that he's the center of the universe. Maybe that's just me though, cause I'm the center of the universe.Capella said:I don't know. I didn't find it that way at all. Didn't help that he confirmed that he is a top 10 Simmons in the same episode.Maybe. If at any point he'd said, "This is very humbling, and an honor. I turned it off before listening to him slobber over another hollywood...ummm....person.Didn't help that he confirmed that he is a top 10 Simmons in the same episode.
Actually really enjoyed JK.I turned it off before listening to him slobber over another hollywood...ummm....person.
Is that wrong? Because my moron 7-year old boy will come at me with no warning. (but it's all in fun........I think)Super Bowl prop podcast he did with Sal is always fun. Also funny (and kinda disturbing) to hear how his son attacks the family violently both in public and private.![]()
Did you listen to the podcast? His kid punched his sister as hard as he could in the school, then punched Bill as hard as he could. Not wrong, just weird. My kid kinda does too, but this sounded more extreme. Is that wrong? Because my moron 7-year old boy will come at me with no warning. (but it's all in fun........I think)
His son also got in trouble at school for selling candy!Did you listen to the podcast? His kid punched his sister as hard as he could in the school, then punched Bill as hard as he could. Not wrong, just weird. My kid kinda does too, but this sounded more extreme.
That was awesome actually. His son also got in trouble at school for selling candy!
I really just wanted to call my son a moron.Did you listen to the podcast? His kid punched his sister as hard as he could in the school, then punched Bill as hard as he could. Not wrong, just weird. My kid kinda does too, but this sounded more extreme.
I mean Simmons is a dope so who knows what he'll say. But here in New England no one is complaining about the refs. All we want to know is why the hell Butler didn't play.Looking forward to hearing him complain about the NFL and the refs jobbing the Pats yet again
Butler not playing at all is one of the all-time wtf super bowl moments.I mean Simmons is a dope so who knows what he'll say. But here in New England no one is complaining about the refs. All we want to know is why the hell Butler didn't play.
was Rowe his replacement? seemed like the Eagles were going after him.Murph said:I mean Simmons is a dope so who knows what he'll say. But here in New England no one is complaining about the refs. All we want to know is why the hell Butler didn't play.
Rowe is a nickel cornerback. People here are saying Butler had a down year. That may be so but he still played 98% of the snaps this year. He's also the best tackling cornerback they have and the tackling was atrocious in that game. The whole thing is just bizarre. If Belichick would come out and say they sat him for disciplinary reasons I'd probably still be pissed but he's earned the right to make that decision as a coach. Their explanation that he "didn't fit into any of their packages" isn't even a good a lie.was Rowe his replacement? seemed like the Eagles were going after him.
was Butler playing that poorly this season?
I loved that Simmons was getting all pissy about it, and Stone dropped in that he had to drag Simmons to a soccer game years ago.Listened to most of the last one that opened with the discussion on the new US Soccer president election with Rob Stone. Now, I don't know very much about the topic but I found it funny that Simmons' main complaint with the newly elected guy is that he was the #2 of the previous guy who he seemed to hate and claim was a massive failure.
Two things: 1) What the hell was Adam Silver to David Stern? 2) The old guy he hated actually supported the woman who Simmons claimed was the better candidate.
Interesting. Doosh move by Bill, but seeing Rapaport in bed this weekend is a horrid sight I can never unsee.http://thebiglead.com/2017/10/17/michael-rapaport-ripped-bill-simmons-and-his-hbo-show-after-un-responded-texts/
Had no idea Rapaport and Simmons had a falling out. No more stick man talk I guess.
He was pretty entertaining when he was on with Simmons. How was there anybody who actually listened to a Michael Rappaport podcast? Sounds like torture.
I think this is my favorite: https://twitter.com/EricStangel/status/94202453888737283Peyton Marino said:The pod with Morey was pretty good, and incidentally reminded me of one of my favorite tweets of all time.
Of course Bill is too dense to put it together when she doesn't come back from the bathroom (not that it would have mattered bc Pedro was pitching)Insisting a girl you're on a date with eat clam chowder when she says she has a shellfish allergy has to be shtick, right?
In real life, she would have dropped him like a bad habit after that. Egregious.Of course Bill is too dense to put it together when she doesn't come back from the bathroom (not that it would have mattered bc Pedro was pitching)
Obv has low self-esteem or a cash register heart + a keen sense of the online sports journalism landscape. In real life, she would have dropped him like a bad habit after that. Egregious.
