The CJ2K Trade Thread (1 Viewer)

I'm convinced trading CJ away or trading for him will really determine a lot of championships this year. I'd like to revisit this thread at the end of the year to see how teams who were involved with trading him ended up finishing.

So are you a buyer or seller and list your CJ trade.

I'm a buyer:

I Gave

Shonn Greene

Julio Jones

I Received

CJ

PPR Keeper League. CJ owner was 0-5. CJ & Greene were not keepable. Julio Jones keepable, but he wouldn't have made my roster cuts.

I bought during his bye in a keeper league. Gave up my 2nd 5th and 6th round picks of 2012 draft. Not happy after last weeks performance! WTF!!!

Traded him away in a big $$$ redraft ppr.

Gave Cj djax tebow

Got Ray avant schaub

I know he won't stay this bad all season but I was in last place and needed to shake it up a bit.

I'm buying. My league values WR's as much as RB's and I'm healthy at WR. I'm going to offer Roddy White to a guy that has CJ on his bench right now.

In the keeper league that I'm in, I'm -not- selling. If he goes another year at his current state, it won't feel as bad to let him go.

Sold CJ before week 4. Sold him for Fred Jackson and Turner. Was 0-3 but am 4-3 now.
Michael Turner?Dude.Wow. Nice. You gave up a garbage RB "with potential" for the then-#3 and #18 RBs and now-#1 and #10 RBsAs for me, I drafted CJ in 1st round and I still have him in my starting lineup. Turned down some garbage offers 3-4 weeks ago and a couple decent offers like Fitz for CJ. He's untradeable now.

Offered two 2012 1st round picks this past week - got rejected. He wants three (I have five somehow), I'm not interested at that price.

12 Team 3 Keeper 0.5 ppr

We play double headers 3x to ensure we play teams in Div 2x & out of Div 1x each seaosn

I was 3-4

Traded Forte & Maclin for CJ & Turner

Forte & Austin were best option at Keeper, but no real #3 (J Stew or DeM Murray)

Got CJ during his Bye week.

I also traded D Nelson & V Davis plus 3rd round next year for Brady

Currently 5-4 tied for 1st in Division

I have been offerd Greg Jennings for CJ since I acquired him.

I will wait until his Indy game to determine if I hold or sell.

I was almost a buyer vs indy this week.

redraft ppr 10 teamer - no rb left, and ok at wr.

I offered roddy white, and the guy initially took it, but then backed out at last minute.

Buying. Re-draft PPR, traded SJax for CJ. Almost immediately after it went thru, I got an offer of Rivers and Bradshaw for Tebow and CJ (Tebow and Fitz on roster). Contemplating it, but leaning towards declining.

I traded him away this week for L. Fitz. Only one problem I'm going against him this week so no doubt CJ will screw me again and come up big against Indy. Oh well but, with Rice and Gore as my RBs CJ was going to be on my bench anyhow.

Just traded him in an eight man redraft league for Jp losman and a king size snickers bar. Is it just me or did I rob that guy?

So Far so good

Gave up McNabb (got benched that week), Benson and Janikowksi (Start 2 QB, FGs over 50 yards double points)

Got CJ, Henne (he was already on IR) and Gostkowski.

He`s my RB3 and I`ll be holding until if/when he breaks out.

id rather have benson
Not a chance. Benson has zero upside and was expecting a 3 week suspension at the time. You'd really rather have Benson taking up your RB3 spot instead of CJ (behind Gore and Fred Jackson)? The part in the trade I didn't want to give up was SeaBass. Guy is a stud with double FGs over 50.

Not only will trading FOR CJ end up sinking your fantasy team this year, but you might just be trading for a backup rb.

For all the BS CJ spews, "waaaahhhhhh! its not me its my o-line...WWWWWAAAAAAAHHHHHHH", like a freakiiin crybaby, Ringer goes in there and puts up 60 yds on 14 carries today and adds 5 receptions for total ydg of 100+ and 4+ ypc.

yeah CJ? the o-line? Munchack now calls this a time share at rb b/w those 2 but anyone who thinks that he wont go with ringer as the lead back if he has the hot hand is kidding themselves. Munchak cares about WINNING because thats what determines how HE is measured as an NFL coach and this is his big audition in tennessee. Im sure he wil recieve pressure to continue to feed CJ the ball from management, who surely feels very very dumb rt now for paying CJ that type of $. But at the end of the day CJ is making munchak's decision to play ringer very easy. he sucks.

One can only hope that his demotion of sorts will light a fire under him bt i seriously doubt it. Not only am I not buying him, I would trade him away for a bag of doughnuts at this pt. waste of space on my roster. I have backup rb's that outscore him consistently.

im saying right now if i was offered cj for benson id reject

I traded a 2nd and 5th vet picks (keep 2 league) this morning before the deadline. I am sitting with Blount, McFadden, Wells and Johnson now. I played Carter and not Wells today. I had Greene but traded him to get Wells. This move either makes me or breaks me.

Thinking about putting my toe in the water and buying him low. If a Jordy Nelson type will pry him away, his talent is well worth the gamble.

Whoever is to blame for CJ's struggles, looks like the damage is done for now. All that "going with the hot hand" talk is starting to surface.

If his name wasn't "Chris Johnson" and you only looked at the stats he would be on the waiver wire that is how pathetic he has been.

Not necessarily. He's still putting bye week filler type of numbers. He was in the top 20 still in my PPR league last week.

Yeah, not on waiver wire, but he's way down there in the mid 30's in non-ppr. Around the level of Reggie Bush or Pierre Thomas, guys you hope you aren't starting except for bye week flex starters or good matchup spot starters.

Tried to overpay for him in a dynasty and was rejected Sunday morning. Thinking I need to get in on that e-greeting card site.

14 team PPR redraft with deep rosters.

Traded just Megatron after week 3 for Roddy White and Anquan Boldin. Other guy was 0-3 at time of trade now 1-7, I was 3-0 at time of trade now 7-1.

Needed depth basically after Kenny Britt went down (and Jahvid Best since.) Impossible to get anyone off our WW when you start strong. Very happy with my trade. No regrets.

Traded him back in week 2, along with Antonio Gates and Mike Thomas

for

Aaron Rodgers + Tony Gonzalez.

Highway robbery. (although at the time did not look so bad)

what does megatron have to do with chris johnson?

The thing to be wary of in trading for CJ is that Javon Ringer is no slouch. Gone may be the days of CJ being the bell-cow.

Ringer is Michigan State's all-time leader in all-purpose yards (I know, it's not Running Back U. but still) and known to be a fighter (literally, a black belt in karate) and very hungry to prove himself. This is his opportunity and he will try to seize it.

I am not predicting Ringer takes over for CJ 100%. However, now that CJ has opened the door with his poor performance, a full-blown D.Will/J.Stew type RBBC could very easily develop if Ringer doesn't take the job outright.

In that event, even if CJ gets back to his "old-self", his value will take a hit.

Sold on CJ this week:

Gave up CJ2K and Aaron Hernandez for Ryan Mathews and Gronk.

Two weeks ago, was offered Mike Wallace, Vernon Davis, and Nate Washington for CJ2K, Hernandez, and Decker. Didn't take the offer at first because I thought the TE downgrade might be significant. Glad to have Mathews, but would have preferred Wallace, especially since Boldin and Bowe are my WRs.

Somebody in my league traded Chris Johnson for Adrian Peterson which essentially shifted the balance of power in the entire league. Totally unfair.
Yeah. Totally unfair that someone took a risk and it didn't pay off, while another owner benefited from the decision. Do you organize Occupy Wall Street rallies?

on what planet would someone give up mathews for cj even three weeks ago? nice work

I'm tempted to buy low... for me that would be giving up Battle or Murray for him.

I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze at this point though, he's just looked awful.

It seems that many owners are just holding onto his 'potential' and 'name'.

I find it hard to believe CJ won't succeed over the long haul. It behooves the Titans, to give him every opportunity, otherwise this will turn even uglier.

As soon as he gets his feet back he will be fine and featured again. The only question is when this will happen.
