You forgot "crushing".2-4 in 3-2 loss to the Nationals

I don't think this thread is awful like everyone says. I mean, we get a guaranteed look at the girl in Rags' avatar every time there's a Yankee game, so that's not so bad.
In fact, the people who come on just to bash him are much more annoying than the thread itself. We get it, you don't like the thread. Move along.![]()

At one time, he was a well above average fielder making unreal plays. I haven't seen that Jeter in a while.....usually the plays they show he had to make because he was out of position etc. Usually when someone talks about being "clutch" they aren't talking about on the field though, so I am assuming the guy was talking about at the plate. He's been in the league a good while now, and shortstops don't typically have power numbers, with a few exceptions. Their job is to get on base and score runs. He has a .300 career average and an OBP under .400. He's thrown out stealing about 20% of the time. I am not sure how the others rank, but that seems pretty average if not below, but he always seems to have good post seasons. Tough to say really.I guess this is the thread for Jeter questions. As most know, I don't actually watch MLB games but I am forced to follow MLB by living around New York and only listening to sports radio.
However, I was in Vegas and some num-nuts Red Sox (in hindsight may have been drunk) tried to explain to me that Jeter was a great clutch player, but during the regular season Jeter was 'average'. I tried to be amicable and acknowledge his position, but I had to challenge him a little bit and acknowledge I am not a Yankee fan but we should at least consider Jeter 'good' in the regular season.
Where does Jeter rank in the AL as far as the other 14 American League Shortstops? Without following the actual games, I could conservatively put him as high as 12 but no lower than 9. Thoughts?
Though I wonder, if he were on a team that wasn't always in the playoffs, would he still be talked about like he is today.Really? I'm interested as to why you'd say this? He will most likely finish this season with over 2100 hits and he is only 32 years old. He will need to average 180 hits a year for 5 years (until he is 37).i don't think he's going to make it
i was talking about spaghetti, i don't see this "countdown" making it all the way to 3000Really? I'm interested as to why you'd say this?
