The Curse of Oak Island (1 Viewer)

I thought about going back and "catching up" on the older episodes but it seems like a waste. I have tried to get into the show but does not seem to be clicking for me. When they find something, please change the name of this thread so I can check it out.

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

It could be awesome if the wood didn't come from searcher tunnels.  It was found at ~145 feet which is below the bedrock.  No natural reason for wood to be there.
I realize that, but ultimately this island has seen so much human activity that it makes more sense that it's there as a result of earlier excavations and the like.  They just keep finding these anomalies, but seldom have something tangible pointing to what they seek IMO.  I think most of what was there (treasure) is long gone.

Guessing the season cliffhanger will be to tune in next season to find out what the shiny gold object is at the bottom of the well, since they've been teasing it for 2-3 episodes now at least

I'd go even further and say they have found nothing that indicates treasure was ever there.  They have the lore from previous generations of treasure hunters but the Laginas and their partners have found nothing themselves that definitively shows that treasure was ever there.  Dan Blankenship's 10X hole was a bust although Rick Lagina still wants to investigate it.

They've spent millions and have **** all to show for it.  They seem committed to the end though.  God bless them.

Doubt it.  If they discover something, I believe they will show it.  The show will use cliffhangers like intra-season but not inter-season.

Very encouraging episode tonight.  Multiple metallic hits at the bottom of C1.

LET'S GET SOME ANSWERS!!!

I don't understand why they haven't put a giant hose into the cavities and sucked out whatever is in them.  They could filter through whatever gets sucked up and they'd remove the silt so that when someone goes down there they can see what they're looking at.

The biggest question I have is if the "treasure hunters" are having this much difficulty getting to the bottom of that stupid shaft, then HTF did some primitive pirate get the booty down there in the first place?  Unless you tell me that aliens helped.  Then I'd believe it because aliens help make everything easier.

That doesn't make for good television.  Although what elements of this "show" really do?

Water....in a cavity...60 feet below the surface of Oak Island....could it could contain sacred religious artifacts?....Nazi gold?....More silt and water?....The hopes and dreams of Rick and Marty Lagina?.....A different shirt for Jack Begley?

It'd take a long time to drain the Atlantic Ocean.  And then, of course, there's the prickly problem of where to put the water.

This makes it sound a lot like Geraldo and the opening of Al Capone's safe. Does Oak Island end the same way?

So how come the other old guy dying didn't count as one of the 7 needed to break the curse?  You have to think deep down when these guys heard he died they all thought "Maybe NOW we will find that damn gold!"

interesting stuff coming up from the 10-X hole

-a chunk of hand-cut lumber

-wood with what appears to be pitch (which was popularly used to seal decking etc on ships) on it

-a small bone of yet undetermined origin

I'd bet the bone is from a small animal that fell down there.

Hand cut lumber and pitch are interesting but there are many ways for it to have gotten down there.

I hate to say it, but I am losing faith in the Lagina brothers and their quest.  They have found nothing that definitively says anyone dug a deep hole to deposit treasure down there. NOTHING!

  times gabillion.

I actually got excited seeing this bumped. because... maybe this time... the guys watching can report somehting actually happened.

super excited for the next bump.

Now you're losing faith?  What, that crack scientific team they've got doesn't fill you with confidence anymore?  Here, I'll tell you how it all ends:

Edit:  HTF do you spoilerize something?

THERE'S NOTHING IN THAT ####### HOLE!

The last episode did at least clear up one thing "The curse is that 7 people must die while actively searching for the treasure".  So the old man does not count.

"Hey we found a tiny bone that kind of looks like a chicken leg at the bottom of a large shaft that has been left open for the last 50 years.  It must be a human bone!!"

The kids from the goonies would have had found the pirate treasure in season one.  Booby trapped tunnels underground that fill with water :loco:

Commercials teasing "an amazing find" this week!!  Another splinter of wood? A piece of rock somewhat resembling a bone fragment? Place your bets, ladies and gents!

So I had it on in the background, but wasn't focusing enough to tell what was going on exactly. They found the remnants of one of the infamous "box drains" they've been talking about? Anyone?

Promising episode.  Interesting letter from FDR hypothesizing Marie Antoinette's jewels are buried nearby.  Some interesting wood/clay/etc in the area they were digging for the box drains.  They selected the next dig site and everyone was amazed no one had chosen it before.  I'm sure nothing will work out next week.

I happened to walk by as the wife was watching right at the part they had shown on the commercial. Said let me guess they found some more wood. Even the wife who has been all in on this show from the beginning is starting to figure out its a waste of time...

Forgot to add that Rick and Alex visited Zena Halpern--a ~80 yo historian specializing in the Templars.  Oh, it also looks like she has Hasidic curls growing from her sideburns.
