She definitely didn't "want it." She was barely even awake, and oddly enough, not the first time I've seen her take her clothes off after a long bout of drinking   That doesn't mean she was trying to have relations with me. Had I advanced things, would she have accepted? I'm not sure. Perhaps. She was still fairly drunk. For all I know she didn't even realize it was me in the bed.   But it's not something I was willing to risk our friendship over. If you can't understand that angle, then I am not sure anything else I say would convince you. I didn't go to New Orleans to try and sleep with one of my best friends, who by the way, I still had to spend 2 more days with and ride home with. 

Should have at least followed her lead and got naked. “Yeah, clothes suck.” She can take it from there?

There is a less than 5% chance that Kate (whom I picture as @Wrigley SIL) doesn't want to bang NRJ.  Spent the last year talking to each other every day.  Asked him to come to NOLA, got her friend to slip out so she was left alone with NRJ.  Came to bed naked.

I have to admit, knowing you got two more days with this broad in NOLA it does make sense to hold off because she got the crazy potential.  Good move.  I probably would have ####ed her, but that's not saying much.

If you said "Girl gets naked and gets into bed with a guy, she wants to sleep with him, yes or no?" then yes, I could see her saying Absolutely. But this wasn't that. There was way more to it. If Kate was being handsy with me, trying to kiss me, or giving me any signal that she was doing anything other than snuggling with me, we likely would be having a different conversation here.

That would've made for a more interesting story, I suppose. And I guess one doesn't really know what they'd do until actually presented with the scenario, but I think it definitely would've presented a moral juxtaposition.

I'd lean towards option 2, only because my relationship with her is not like that. But your last sentence is correct. I didn't want to have sex, WITH HER. The part that seems to be throwing everybody off (due to removal of her clothing, even though I said this wasn't the first time she had done this in my presence) is that she didn't want to have sex with me either. That is a fact. 

Has anyone not ever had a friend of the opposite sex who is "off limits" in your mind? Maybe it's just me. I don't mean that to sound like I'm on some moral high-horse. I'm just saying that's a line I personally won't cross. To each their own. She and I went out on a couple of dates initially, yes, but that was well over a year ago, and I've learned a lot about her in that time. The married guy thing, and some other things I haven't shared here. And I am secure in my decision here. Again, I realize you guys are getting just part of the story that I chose to tell, so I get it. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she and I remained friends. She's attractive, funny and intelligent, but I'm telling you, she's a hot mess as far as life is concerned.
