Thanks for sharing. I didn't expect to tear up this morning.

My biggest take from the article in regards to what made him special, and in my not so humble opinion, what I think is the singular most important trait for a RB - vision. I came to this conclusion watching Emmitt essentially walk and slide his way to thousand yard seasons post 30 years old.

First of all, he had what he regards as the two indispensable ingredients for success as a running back, neither of which is speed or power. "Vision and feet," he says. "They're everything."

"Frankie lost that step," Don Soldinger said. "But he never lost his vision and could pick his way through things."

Gore did in fact score a 100th touchdown -- 88 rushing, 18 receiving, and one fumble recovery TD in Week 15 of the 2012 season at New England.

I remember that 2nd knee injury. Back then, people were like, it's a shame, he had a lot of potential.
