The League (1 Viewer)

The show started rough but it's damn funny. Not sure why people are so critical. Perhaps because the dude from "Cavemen" is one of the key players?

Watched the season finale with my wife, we were both laughing at the doctor visit, as well as the various SHIVA songs. Especially great were the various trophies the guys took from her apartment.

Haven't seen the finale yet (traveling for work, no FX) but I have been really surprised by how good the show is. Anyone who takes fantasy football even somewhat seriously shouldn't watch it for that aspect of it (you'll be annoyed by one guy being able to trade an incarcerated player for a stud), but it's just really really funny. Perfect compliment to Sunny in Philly.

I think my favorite exchange of the show was when Pete asked Kevin why he's never made his own sex tape even though he's obsessed with porn:

"I love to eat, doesn't mean I cook."

The producers were smart by putting enough fantasy football into it to get an initial audience, but not overdoing it so as to turn people off.

I really hope they have another season next year - agree it started off rough, but improved and became one of my wife and my favourites

Show isn't as good as Always Sunny, or Curb, or any classic comedy of the past 30 years, but it's entertaining and it has potential. The actors are solid, and the writing is pretty good as well. I'll mos def Tivo Season 2...8/10

The show definitely has its flat moments, the overall plot, particularly in a fantasy league that's pretty much 5 guys (with the occasional mention of out of towners) is contrived. BUT, there are laugh out loud moments and it seems they're more and more with each week. It's definitely worth watching for those outrageous moments that make you squirm.

Really liked this show. Starting watching a few weeks ago on Hulu and finished season 1 today. The Shiva episode was f'n hilarious.

I loved this show last year and am looking forward to another season.

I get a kick out of the posters who were complaining about the trades, roster moves etc. You do realize this is a sitcom right? They may be exaggerated, but we have all been in a league at one point or another where some roster moves that make you go :lmao: have happened. Not all owners can be shark pool players.

Watched a couple of episodes and thought it was poorly written and even more poorly cast -- good premise but terrible execution.

I disagree. I think the show is great! Smartly written and the cast is great.

One of my favorite shows period. I hope it maintains the high quality as every episode was funny as hell.

I do agree that the FF part of the show could use a professional consultant that knows about FF.

Great comedy in the 'Always Sunny' vein...

I think if they pushed for FF realism, they'd lose some watchers. The humor is in the characters' ridiculous behavior with FF as a catalyst. Non-FF people as well as all of us know how realistic and funny that can be.

Scott Hanson from fantasyguru is a consultant and at least three of the actors subscribe to his site.

I would wager a ton that Taco is not one of them. Dude can't even remember that he won the Shiva. Loved the masking tape with his name stuck to the trophy. I can see some of my league mates in each of these characters as well, which makes it even more hilarious for me. Looking forward to Season 2.

I was ready to give up early, but the show improved a ton as the season went on. I was a big fan by the end of the season.
