The North Face (1 Viewer)

Am I missing something here? Do I have to climb Mt. Everest before I am able to wear this gear?

These just seem like overpriced things that people buy to show off how much money they are willing to spend. I can get a nice hoodie at Academy for $25. Why do I need to spend $150+ for the essentially the same thing with a fancier logo.

Marketing. What's up with that?

I do like to ask friends wearing North Face jackets about the adventures they've been on.

I bought a black NF jacket off season last year for around $70 I think. It's lightweight, perfect for the milder winters down here, yet kept me warm up north in 20 degree temps last week. Comfortable, looks great, well made, has a cell phone pocket in the perfect spot...

Patagonia is in the same boat where a fleece is like $150, but I love there stuff... So comfortable, keeps you warm, and very well made.

Also I've bought cheap jackets from places like kohls lots of times and they last a couple seasons before they start to look worn, lose shape, etc. A jacket that costs $200-300 is a great value if you're getting 8-10 years of use out of it.

This. I've had mine for 8+ years and it's still in good shape. Can't see myself replacing it for at least 3-4 more seasons

I still have my 10 year old red down vest that I got for free from Marlboro. Well, my mother had to smoke two packs a day for several months to get it. But it was free for me. Thanks Mom!

Pata-Gucci for a reason.

I have a North Face knock off from Costco (Kirkland brand) that cost me $40 and looks and feels great. It doesn't have the NF logo but I'm ok with that.

i have one of the thinner ones also. Got on sale for about the same price. Great coat

I have a bunch of TNF. I love it all !!!

BTW you can get TNF half off all the time if your smart about it.

lived in the mountains and did a lot of skiing. i own a lot of jackets for many climates/weather. while i would have liked to have done some hut trekking and skiing, i never had the time. about 4 of them are north face. love them and they have the been most durable. as some have mentioned, waited for the stores to have their off-season sales.

True. But they are also usually skinny and attractive.
Hey! My wife wears NF stuff! Wait, actually that's pretty accurate. Carry on.
What I tend to notice though is that they are skinny and attractive because Sugar Daddy makes it so they don't have to work. And they can hang out at the gym all day and drink green tea fat-free lattes.

Not my kind of gal. But to each their own.

The cheaper stuff is not the same quality. TNF does things like seal their seams that lower priced options don't. So they last longer, especially in tough weather.

TNF has done an incredible job of keeping their core tech consumer, while also becoming THE cool brand in outerwear...in all important segments including urban.

I'd rather be seen in a Triple Fat Goose before I wore north face. Every ham & egger around here wears north face

Academy Sports and Outdoor...it's a sporting goods chain across Texas and the south similar to DSG, but more discount oriented.

Brad's deals has a north face deal every single day. Why are people acting like this stuff costs as much as burberry or louis vuitton?

I have a black jacket that is nice and light weight. They fit well without looking to bulky and it's waterproof.
