The Official Kicker (K) Thread (2 Viewers)

I didn't want to let go of Elliot, but couldn't stomach dropping a real player to keep 2 kickers.

Plus Prater was available. Kicks indoors, and is great at 50+ yards.

I thought the difference would be a lot larger, but Elliot only has 3 more points than Prater in my league after playing the same amount of games.

 
Officially moving on from Matt Bryant after basically two years. He was $$ last year- this year, not so much. Elliot on my wire and I don't want to carry two but need a guy like him or Butker down the stretch and they're both on byes!

 
Kinda feeling C. Cannazarro this week. Can be had anywhere.

TB D a mess. McCown rolling. TB offense will probably do the D no favors.

All that equals kicking opportunities.

because of that, I’mma feelin another unofficialy officially unofficial Kicker contest a-comin on!  :pickle:

• USA Only 

• Thursday night players included (but you need to get your guess in 5 mins before kickoff Thursday!)

• Sunday guesses all must also be time-stamped 5 mins before before kickoff. 

• 1 entry per Shark. 

• Don't edit a post. If you have a typo or change your guess, delete & repost up to 5 mins before early games kickoff (Sunday @ 10:00 AM PT)

Simple Contest: using standard K decimal scoring (37 yards = 3.7 points) *and* with a *penalty* of -1 for a MFG under 35 yards or a MXP, who is your highest scoring kicker of the week and how many fantasy points will they score per rules above?

Guess correctly and you’ll win a bottle of award-winning hot sauce. 

tiebreakers:

1. If two people have the same kicker & guess the same total points, earliest time-stamp wins. And later time stamp is to be soundly ridiculed for not checking prior posts. 

2. In the super rare & bizarro event that two different kickers score the exact same amount of fantasy points, and two sharks have them; whichever kicker has the longest FG decides it. And if the long FG also a tie (same distance) I’ll send both Sharks a bottle (as that will never happen in a zillion years. lol)

I like the call - the only problem is he’s got a week 11 BYE. In leagues with per-transaction fees, it’s a potentially poor investment.  This game he should be money, but then you’re empty next week.

I did it in my deeper bench league. Couldn’t let go of Elliott. It hurt bad to drop Elliott in my short bench league. Fingers are crossed that I can get him back. 

 
I kept Butker and picked up a 2nd kicker. Choices were very weak but I went with Robbie Gould for one week. Decent kicker and Giants are imploding. I am hoping Jimmy Garoppolo actually plays this week. I wouldn't want to own Gould long term though.

i had planned on keeping Lutz RoS, but the Boswell owner dropped him. Swapped them out because I like the Steelers K upcoming matchups the next 4 weeks; all teams that give up a lot of FGAs, and Pittsburgh has been awful in the RZ in 2017.

 
I made a rookie mistake this week with my K (Butker) on bye. I knew I'd have to drop him, but I figured I'd wait until Friday to ensure no one picked him up and stashed him. As a result I lost out on Gostkowski and Forbath. I'll end up with Lambo, and based on my league's behavior, there's a good chance I'll be able to get Butker back after his bye. But the really dumb part is that I could have just dropped him last week and picked up Zuerlein or Succoup, both of whom had been dropped over their bye.

Yes, it's good to have an elite kicker. But the top guys are all fairly interchangeable; don't get tied to any particular one, especially if you can get another guy who's already past his bye.

 
Josh Lambo is another excellent option who is probably still under the radar in most leagues because he’s only been there a few weeks. Reliable kicker, run oriented team, great defense, no good RZ receivers - that’s the perfect storm for a ton of FGAs.

 
Think the last two options mentioned are good ones:

* Lambo -- LAC travelling east. Don't see that offense doing much against JAX. JAX should be able to run on LAC, but their pass D is strong so maybe some stalls in the redzone.

*  C. Cannazarro -- High over/under against a lousy D. McCown has been efficient, but I wonder if TB shows some spunk here at home and with Fitz at the helm.

I'm considering both vs. Mike Nugent (who I don't think is very good, but indoors, with a high O/U, and maybe Dallas is a tad less efficient in the redzone minus Zeke).

everyone has Bryant much higher this week but I think it's pretty close

I like Lambo a lot this week

Not I'm gonna cut Boswell for him like him, but he's been great his first two games

good D, ball control offense, no decent RZ WRs, and the Chargers have a great pass rush

sounds like a lot of FGAs to me

I’m not really the “quote myself” kinda guy - I leave that sort of thing to the cool kids....

but this one’s worth quoting - get your guess in before 5 mins until the early games kick off a 10:00 AM PT!

I'm in a league where you must roster 2 kickers. I've got both Butker and Elliott on bye. Thinking of rolling without a kicker for the week as I like both and can't decide if I do cut one in order to pick up Nugent for the week which one do I cut. Who would you risk losing for a one week play in Nugent?
