The Official Kicker (K) Thread (6 Viewers)

I think Buffalo doesn’t allow many FGs because teams are chasing points and FG’s mean less in that scenaro. Cleveland is pretty good at dictating tempo with Chubb.

Game script is fr.

Alos, as discussed upthread somewhere, you need coaches who think like Arthur Smith or Lovie Smith - more apt to settle for the FGA than go for it on 4th and short. The really good offenses (PHI, KC, BUF, MIA, DAL, TEN) want to keep drives going rather than K 50 yarders. Whereas **** offenses like TB, IND, PIT, NE, DEN, ATL, both NJ teams - OMG points yes please.

Good point on Arthur and Lovie Smith.

Was going to roll with B. Maher, but for some reason Koo is sitting in waivers. Both games with decent O/Us and both indoors.

Think Maher is the better all around kicker and Dak tends to bog down in the redzone. Feel like Koo either goes off for 18 points or shanks all his kicks. That of course is based on zero data analysis.

Weather report says 15-25mph winds with steonger gusts in Baltimore. Just ride this out with Tucker, or are these winds high enough to force a pivot? Would be Carlson in cold, but nice in Denver

Twitter saying Tucker is struggling with warmups you knows it’s a real thing

Similar story in Foxborough (Folk & Zurlein) and MetLife (Gano)

25 + mph gusts in the mid Atlantic & northeast

Greg Zuerlein is always ranked by FantasyPros in the low teens but per my league's scoring is #7 on a ppg basis. And he's past his bye now.

I prefer my kickers to be accurate (85%+), and for Zuerlein accurate has rarely been (to quote Yoda). But yeah, he is a good option.

Had York until his bye then went with Santos the past couple of weeks. Checked the wire before the games kicked off today and noticed Bass was available. No brainer to make the switch from Santos of course. A 23 pt day was quite the surprise however.

Stupid Kickers rant
  • WK 1 started the year with Blakenship, 9 points first week, this should be solid....whaddyamean they cut him?
  • WK 2 York - rookie with a big leg, cool, this will be like McPherson last year. 5 points. Hit the bricks kid.
  • WK 3 Koo 12 that's more like it!
  • WK 4 Koo 12 points. Didn't this guy have a monster year back during Covid, had like 8 50 yarders? Let's ride.
  • WK 5 hated the Koo matchup so one week rental with Patterson, 7 points. More importantly avoided Koo's 1 pointer.
  • WK 6 Koo v SF 4 points. That's OK, tough matchup, has a great matchup next week.
  • WK 7 Koo v CIN 6 points. OK I'm out.
  • WK 8 Elliott 5 points OK, stuff happens, be patient. Green matchup on deck.
  • WK 9 Elliott 3 points. Super efficient RZ offense, not great for FF.
  • WK 10 Maher 4 points. Another efficient RZ offense. Let me get rid of this guy so I don't have to settle for his 22 points the following week.
  • WK 11 Folk 4 points. Extreme weather but he's got a lot of cold weather games. Let me find a warm weather guy so I don't have to settle for his 15 points the following week.
  • WK 12 Succop. Unless I switch to Meyers. I hate kickers.
  • WK 13-17 hey that's a real nice schedule York has coming up. Ya know, rookie with a big leg, this could be like McPherson last year.....

Week 12 suboptimal weather games
  • Cleveland (Bucs at Browns) - Cloudy with periods of rain. High 56F. Winds S at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall may reach one inch. Higher wind gusts possible.

This seems like the only one that may be an issue. The others might be (somewhat) windy, wet or chilly but not extreme.

  • Charlotte (Broncos at Panthers) - Cloudy and damp with rain in the morning...then becoming partly cloudy. Thunder possible. High 71F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%.
  • Jacksonville (Ravens at Jags) - Variable clouds with scattered thunderstorms. High 79F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
  • New Jersey (Bears at Jets) - Showers early, becoming a steady rain later in the day. High 54F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall near a half an inch.
  • Washington (Falcons at Commanders) - Cloudy with periods of rain. High 61F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a half an inch.
  • Seattle (Raiders at Seahawks) - Increasing clouds with showers arriving sometime in the afternoon. High near 45F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
  • Green Bay (Eagles at Packers) - Cloudy skies. Game time temp 34F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph.
  • Philadelphia (Packers at Eagles) - Showers in the evening with periods of rain. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

Oh sure, I just picked up Succop and was hoping he would work for ROS. You know, good remaining schedule (except for maybe wk 14 @SF), good playoff schedule (Cin, @Ari, Car)....

Isn't Green Bay AT Philadelphia?

First year ever I drafted Justin Tucker, Based on my luck with kickers, lets all be prepared for a finish outside of top 10 for the first time ever.
Jonas Shaffer@jonas_shaffer
One casualty of the Ravens’ loss: the NFL’s most certifiably clutch streak. Before missing from 67 yards, Justin Tucker had made 65 straight field goals in the fourth quarter and OT, the longest such run in league history.

Tucker's 67-yard miss was right down the middle and might have been good from 63 yards. He was excellent otherwise. Best kicker of our time...maybe any time.

Had my choice of the Cincinnati K or Jets K, went with Cinci. It was a wash either way, both got 9. Probably stick with him, not sure about the Jets offense which scores 5 points a game less.

That’s almost unfathomable.

rolling with Chase McLaughlin this week

Indy doesn't score many TDs (13 on the year lol) but three straight games with a 50 yarder

7 50+ on the year, third behind Carlson and Maher

he's made 8 FG in 4 G since Saturday took over

MIN has allowed the most FF points to K this season.

Last five games: 13, 22, 15, 19, 12

Vikings D is 32nd in yards allowed

Colts are 28th in converting RZ opportunities

Someone dropped him during bye week, grabbed him to back up Tucker in case Balt hits a bad weather game

Yeah me too. If it doesn't work out, I'll blame @BobbyLayne

Would you guys just avoid Zuerlein this weekend with Wilson starting?

Or do you guys still think a guy like Wilson will be able to move the ball enough against a bad DET defense?

Definitely lucked out here (broken clock theory)

only the 4th Kicker to top 20 points this season

Hey Bobby!! Prolly gonna go with Dulcich over Higgins in my WR/TE standard league now!!😎

Just switched in Patterson on JAX over Crosby/Zuerlein.

Avoiding the Jets offense and looks to be 20 degrees in GB with a decent chance of snow.

Just feel better having a guy in warm weather this week. Tough DAL defense but I think Lawrence is up to the task to move the ball on em.

@BobbyLayne What are your thoughts this week on McLaughlin? Love him being inside, his recent production, and teams being able to run on the Chargers but I just worry about Ryan imploding. Trying to stick this week to someone in good weather (and or a dome) so I don't have to worry about weather ruining the kicker's chances. McLaughlin (or Dicker for their opponent), Sanders for MIA seems like good candidate at home, and Joseph or Gano going up against each other in MIN are choices. Experts seem to like Joseph more than the other choices.

I’m off him this week. They’re going to struggle without JT. I felt the Colts could easily move the ball against the Vikings horrendous pass D but really just think it was a one week rental.

But LAC have given up the 9th most FF points to K this year so probably not a terrible choice.

streaming Kickers I like this week:

Badgley | DET (46%) at Panthers
Dicker | LAC (52%) at Colts
Gould | SF (46%) v Commanders
Gano | NYG (52%) at Vikings

Weather is vexing me. Imma claim INDY’s dude. If not him, it’s Minny.

Gimme a dome K over wind any way. Sucks, because Bass has had huge upside when not playing in terrible weather.

The weather in CHI has my attention in playing or sitting Bass picking up a second kicker likely. Two apparent good choices in J Sanders or G Joseph with desirable places to kick and I see McPherson @ NE. Will drop D Watson for one of these kickers and wait in another league to drop D Jones for another kicker. Playing Tua and perhaps Mostert in one league already.

Is anyone worried about BUTKER?
Last week he struggled missing FGs and XPs
And now this week the KC weather is going to be brutal cold (feels like temps are predicted to be below ZERO)
Considering Joseph v NYG

If Indy were smart, they run against LAC. I haven’t seen Saturday go on 4th down much, which helps the K.
I'm picking him up in two leagues. Kicking well, good range and in a dome. Chargers D isn't good so Colts should be able to get in FG range.
I picked up Indi K as well, but have Tucker. Waiting and seeing conditions in Baltimore before pivoting
Wait I have Tucker. What are the conditions in Baltimore???

23 degrees with 17 mph wind forecast right now

Dropped Dan Carlson @ PIT (1 of 6 games projected for super cold and windy conditions in week 16).

Going with Graham Gano @ MIN.

Picked up McLaughlin -- don't trust KC weather and Butker--plus my opponent grabbed Moss and hate a Monday night w/o a player --
Just picked up McLaughlin for week 16 dropping D Watson and keeping Bass for next week @ CIN on MNF. Had Butker earlier and dropped him after he just didn't seem himself. Got Bass after a bye week drop.

I picked up Dicker. Really wanted a good weather/dome kicker this week. Considered his opponent (McLaughlin) or one of Graham/Joseph (also facing each other). I am liable to change this multiple times this week between all 4 (will be so glad when this season is over and I don't spend so much time agonizing over stupid kickers although hoping I have one more week before that is the case).

Anyone considering Gay? I know that vs Minnesota is the sweet spot for kickers recently. But Denver is second most fgm against them recently.

Week 11 Carlson 14.40

Week 12 Pineiro 12.4

Week 13 Tucker 3.6

Week 14 Butker 12

Week 15 Prater 15

I have Tucker but if Lamar is out, am I bugging for going Gay?
