Time to kick the season off, JJ says "Dynomite, Are you ready for some Football". **Crappy country music playing** :excited:

Finally Christmas Day number 2 is here. Number 1 was League draft day last Sunday. If there is a FF God Harrison will go for over 100 and 2 TD's.I don't dislike New England but, it would be nice to see the Colts get a win in Foxboro.

What is this? The werewolf reunion thread?Hmm. What is my rooting interest in this game.Colts positives:Were a speedbump in the 1988 playoffs for my Browns. Were stung by the evil John Elway when he refused to sign in 1983.Colts negatives:Owner Jim Irsay backstabbed Baltimore like Art did Cleveland. Had he not done that, the old Browns might still be in town and we'd have a super bowl.Patriots positives:Were spanked in the playoffs by the 1994 Browns.Thoroughly enjoyed watching them upset the Steelers in the AFC title game in 2001. They made Kordell cry as they exposed him.Patriots negatives:Belichick wins two super bowls with them.Cheaters - they willingly bent the rules in pass coverage to the extent that the NFL had to adjust the rules this year. Therefore no respect can ever be accorded their accomplishments.Don't like their fans - too arrogant.I think I'll be rooting for the Colts here.

Edge is the only player I really wanted in any league I was in, but I kept pulling high draft slots, and couldn't trade down. I took the LT's and Priests, hoping they'll start big and I'll be able to maximize trade value, but Edge was the guy I wanted. Hoping he has a slow night, so I can leverage a deal. I'm terrified he comes out of the gate this year with a statement game against the defending champs, though. :(

Would love a high scoring game...as long as the Pats win!I have Edge, Manning, and Branch all going in different leagues.

My week 1 opponent is being bold and starting Manning tonight. I'm looking for a NE win sprung from about 3-4 INTS. For some reason I'm felling pretty lucky. :P

I just swapped Brady in again. Here's hoping he does well tonight & Plummer doesn't do too hot this weekend. :wall:

I've got lots of interest in this game. I'm playing a double-header today. In game one, I've got Edgerrin James and Daniel Graham starting against Tom Brady and Deion Branch. In game two, I've got James and Graham starting against Peyton Manning and Corey Dillon. So, the last thing I want to see is a big passing game.

***Official Bit of Prognostication Before I Go Get Liquored Up***Edge - conservatively, 150 yfs/ 2 TDThere's no more ego-driven player on the planet. He's got the following things converging tonight:1 - A bad taste in his mouth from the close-but-no-cigar end of last season. 2 - A knee that finally seems to work close enough to the way his old one did to make him a legit threat again.3 - An exclusive stage, with no other games on the schedule, on opening night, on nat'l TV.4 - A Belichick team on the other side that traditionally doesn't come out of the gate fast.5 - A chance to make a statement about his health, about his contract, and his about his team, against the champs, and with 1-4 in his favor.Whether he has more to play for than anybody else out there is up for debate. But I'm betting HE thinks he does. And unlike most everyone else on the field, being a feature RB he's in position to showcase that, as if he succeeds one play at a time, he'll be fed the ball more and more and more. Ego meets opportunity meets circumstance and turns this into a great performance.

I've had Edge the last 3 years, and don't have him this year. Therefore the chances of your predictions happening are quite high.

 Here we go again.... :hot: Go Pats!!! Dynasty time! :excited: Whiny and proud of it :D

I was just watching the Bob Kraft pregame speech. Anyone notice how small his hands are compared to the rest of his body? They're like baby hands.

I think it says something about how much we miss football, when the first game thread of the regular season hits page 2 before kickoff. :football:

I predict Indy will win the coin toss.BTW, as stated elsewhere, I benched Brady in favor of Carr. I'll be here for a while, and I can take the verbal abuse.Either way, I still have Brady on my team. :D

You're 0 for 1 so far.New England wins coin toss, elects to Receive, and Indianapolis elects to defend the North goal

Hah, the Patriots have a patch of their last super bowl win on their jersey.I would've thought a Belichick team would prefer to be looking ahead to 2004, not behind to 2003.How arrogant, too. I don't think any prior champ ever did something like that.
