THE OFFICIAL Roddy White Cheering squad! (1 Viewer)

I play in a total points league, so I don't really need any points for a head to head matchup, but if I want to win the high point total for the week ($50), I need 210 yards and 4 TDs from Roddy White. Is that asking too much? I'll also gladly take 150 yards and 5 TDs.

He's 80 yards away from 1000 on the year. Probably one of the most under-the-radar breakout seasons we have this year.

It will be interesting to see where he charts against Greg Jennings, another break out WR. Jennings is getting a lot more love because he has 7 more TDs, but White has more yards and more receptions (in one fewer game as of now). If White manages to get 80 rec for 1200 yards and 6 TDs this year (his pace), I will have a tough time figuring out his value for next year. Same with Jennings, if Jennings gets 60 receptions for 1000 yards and 14 TDs (his pace) it is going to be tough deciding if value lies in the rec/yards or with the guy putting up the TDs.Edit: The Jennings/White comparison should read one more possible game. Jennings didn't play week 1 or 2

I view White as slightly more of a crazy breakout - I figured someone from Atlanta would do so, wasn't sure who. I expected Jennings to have a good year, and pounced on him in a draft when he fell. I wanted to grab Wilford from Jax & White as well, but had to pick one or the other. Got White off waivers early in the year, so it worked out. Those 2 guys have really saved my season in one league. I'd expect them both to be pretty solid next season, although watch out for Robinson in ATL.

Redman was the QB last week when he threw 2 TDs(one to White) in the 4th quarter, wasn't he?

Not like the Saints pass defense is anything more than a wet paper bag.

I need him 2 nite...

to score 18 points or less to secure a win in the 1st round after ending the regular season as the #1 team. Benched Parker for Kolby Smith. I know- never bench your studs :lmao:

ETA: He has 10 already in the 1st quarter!!! AGHHHH!

Down by 16.3 for the final playoff spot in a WCOFF league. Roddy gets me 16.5. Must suck for the guy that missed the playoff by 0.2 pts YTD!!!

Roddy White is the Shiznit!

I'm surprised that more isn't being made of Rowdy Roddy's shirt.
The Atlanta message boards, I swear I'm not making this up, have posts stating that Arthur Blank should apologize for his "Fried Chicken" comments in regards to Mike Vick. So, just to review. "Fried Chicken" now joins "Boy" as being racist.

There has been a racist overtone to the phrase fried chicken in reference to blacks for quite some time. I've never heard of the word boy as being racist.

I'm from the south, I'm fully aware of the fried chicken and watermelon stereotypes. Silly, stupid things, since most people are big eaters of both. But now, mentioning the words "fried chicken" in the same sentence with, or in reference to, a type of a food a black person might eat is now racist. The boy thing came from Ravens silliness last week, and of course there are some historical connotations to that relating to slavery, but I've certainly been called "boy" before and I'm pretty white. It's a pretty universal insult, especially in the south.I was merely referring to the hypersensitivity of people.

 It's a racist comment and has been for quite some time. Same with 'boy'.
 I could do 47 paragraphs on how ridiculous that is, but I won't. I'll just gracefully exit this thread suggesting you look up the word racist.

any roddy whiters afraid they'll over turn that hailmary b4 the half into an interception thus costing us all our wins?

Ya know...I am just curious as to why Roddy White is excelling with every QB not named Michael Vick.

Not really. I knew Vick sucked and that is why I grabbed Laurent Robinson as he will be a future stud when Brohm or Ryan arrive on scene in 2008 or if they sit a year, 2009. Redman can hold down the fort for a year.

Needed 2 TD's from Mr. White to make playoffs.

Can someone tell me if they heard why Roddy White pulled-up on the 3rd Qtr bomb?

He had a step on MacKenzie and no-one between him and the goalline!

Has anything like that ever happened before? Wouldn't possession have needed to be challenged? The call on the field was made, and no booth review came (presumably because it didn't matter anyway). Why would it be changed?ps...Roddy owner, won my pointless game (already clinched a bye) by over 50 pts, so I have no stake in this

Don't forget to add Reggie Williams to the comparison. I know Jax passing game is ugly, but Williams is putting up some impressive numbers!

I was shocked the booth didn't review that play. I didn't think there was possession until he fell over into the endzone! I can't believe there was no slow-motion replay. They reviewed a meaningless catch later in the 3rd Qtr for Joe Horn, but wouldn't review an AWESOME CATCH, that was possibly a TD!!!!!??????!!!!!! Wake-up NFL!

Anyone benching him vs. Tampa? He was targeted 7 times vs. Tampa in week 11, but he only netted 4 catches for a few yards and no TDs.

Obviously it's been about 18 hours since I've seen it, but it was pretty clear to me that someone possessed it around the 1.5 yd line. I don't even remember White rolling into the endzone.
