Colts | Addai practices Monday - Mon Oct 15 6:04:00 p.m. ET 2007

(KFFL) Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai (shoulder, back) participated in practice Monday, Oct. 15.

All the "questionable" players from the TB game that didn't play are expected to play this Monday. This is a huge game - and they know it.

Wondering how good a start he'll be anyway @ Jax vs. there front 7. Peyton will have to throw in this one. Seriously thinking of starting LJ and MJD and having Addai ride the pine.

Jax's front are playing hurt and I think Indy will seek to run it down their throats like they did to the Bears in the Super Bowl. I'd start Addai over MJD who will be contained by the Colts unlike last year. Don't think Dungy doesn't remember how Jax ran it on them last year and will make changes. Dungy is easily twice the coach Del Rio is.

When I compare the talent level between the 2 teams, I can't agree that Dungy is twice the coach Del Rio is. That said, I think Dungy knows he needs to have his players on the field and mix up the pass and rush.

Jax always plays yhe colts tough. This should be a low scoring affair as usual. Jax will play to keep manning and co off the field and attempt to control the TOP by running the ball. I'd start MJD if I had him with confidence...

The over/under on the game is 45. Vegas does not think this game will be a low scoring affair. I would start your Colts WITH CONFIDENCE.

Addai ran 11 times for 22 yds last year @ Jac....Rhodes ran 8 times for 11 yds @ Jac. Even @ the RCA Dome last year, Indy rb's combined for 17 carries and 63 yds. How does this correlate to INDY being able to pound the ball down their throats? Not including the debacle against Tennessee, Jax has allowed exactly 50 yds on the ground on average...thats including games @ Den and @ KC. I think if my two other options were LJ and MJD...I'd be rolling with them.

Never... bench... your... studs.
Seriously. It doesn't matter what he did last year against Jax, or how Jax has stopped most guys this year. Unless you have a truly better option - and more power if you do - I don't see how you sit Addai.

Remember what Tennessee did to Jax earlier this season...I'm sure Indy has watched those tapes and getting two weeks to do it.

News: According to the Colts official web site, RB Joseph Addai (chest) should be able to play Week 7 against Jacksonville. Coach Tony Dungy said he expected Addai will practice when the Colts begin full-scale preparations for Jacksonville on Thursday.

Bumping for an info check. Based on the above quote, not sure if the Colts practiced Wednesday, or took a day off since it's a Monday nighter.

To be fair, the Colts can't do exactly what the Titans did to Jax because Manning isn't the running threat of Vince Young - and that is how Chris Brown got so many wide open running lanes that week.

Colts didn't practice Thursday - Thu Oct 18 2:34:00 p.m. ET 2007

(Rotoworld) The Colts didn't practice Thursday because they play on Monday night.

Impact: Joseph Addai, Marvin Harrison, Bob Sanders, and Freddie Keiaho are all expected to practice Thursday after sitting out Week 5 before a Week 6 bye.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, but this is what was posted.

I really expect Indy to be in the shotgun from the outset. Could be one of those games where they throw 15 straight times to start. Can't see them running on Jax. I will be starting FWP and MJD, with Addai on the bench.

With that strategy, the Colts will get killed. They have to keep Jax's D honest by threatening with both the run and pass.

Are you posting from a palm pilot or a cell phone TM? :lmao:

So, as a non-Addai owner, Keith is safe to drop? Anyone think that he'll have any realistic value this year assuming that Addai is healthy?

I wouldn't drop him.. either trade him to the Addai owner or hold.. You're sitting on a potential top 10 back if Addai were to get hurt again which is possible..

Addai returns to full workout; Marvin limited - Thu Oct 18 5:31:00 p.m. ET 2007

(Rotoworld) Joseph Addai (shoulder) returned to an unrestricted practice Thursday for the Colts. Marvin Harrison (knee) was a limited participant.

Impact: While Addai appears nearly certain to start, Harrison may be listed as "questionable" and be a game-time call at Jacksonville. The Colts are pushing their best players to play in a division game, but if Marvin can't put in a full workout before Monday's matchup, we may not know his availability until prior to game time. Aaron Moorehead is behind him on the depth chart.

I am keeping him for the league playoffs. Even if Addai remains healthy I expect the colts will want to save him for their playoff run. So Keith could see some added value in weeks 15 & 16 especially if the Colts clinch early.

I cant blame you with those 2.
You'd start MJD over Addai? It's not like JAX has that much better of a rushing D (10 vs 13) and it's not like Addai hasn't been putting up great numbers. Plus Indy's D is well rested. Addai doesn't share the load as MJD does, and I don't see the Jags leading Indy in the 4th, giving Freddy a rest.

this makes absolutely no sense . . .The Colts are in a 3 way battle with the Steelers and Pats for homefield . . .I am sure they'd rather be in a dome in late January vs playing at Hines field or in New England . . .you actually think they would clinch 2 or 3 weeks early???

Yes, or more likely, not be able to alter their situation, especially with the Colts playing the Patriots. I'm holding onto Keith as well. I had James a few years back and Dungy sat him in week 16, helping to ruin my run at a title in my local league.

Playoffs? way too early to think the colts will be resting their studs. The colts have a tough 4 game stretch and I think they will not win them all. I think NE will clinch homefield throughout the playoffs so that scenario is less likely to happen. The colts will play the game to get the best possible record for a home playoff game. With all that said hold onto keith, the chance of Addai going down again gives you a decent RB to start in his place whether you own Addai or not.

I'm in the camp that says MJD doesn't play to "give Freddy a rest". He is the playmaker in that offense, and has had great success vs. the Colts (I know - Sanders was out). MJD wins either way. If they are behind - he'll be in for the passing game - not Freddy. I'm not 100% sure I'm sitting Addai - it's just that I don't see him having a monster game vs. a jacked up Jag D on the road.

Bro you've been a obsessive supporter of Addai and an obsessed hater of MJD. Im not surprised you feel that way and Im not gonna argue.

Anyone who doesnt think Addai will lose carries to Keith are kidding themselves
Addai might be in the same situation as most #1 RBs, which means the backup will come in to take some pressure off but will still take the majority of carries.
Code:
What's up with your RB situation?

Start 2 rb's.I have Addai,Ronnie Brown, Travis Henry and Brandon Jacobs. Denver's O suxor's right now so I doubt I start Henry. Quite possible it'll be a 3 headed monster for the Giants this weekend. Brown has tough matchup against the Pats but I can't sit the league's leading rusher regardless ofhis matchup. That brings me to Addai. I'm starting him even if the Jags are tough against the run. I am however tempering my expectations for him this week. Even doing that I think he's a better start for me than Henry and Jacobs.
