***The Super Bowl XLV Thread*** - Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

I'm hearing a lot of people saying that the weak O-line will be the Steeler's demise. What they don't understand, is that the O-line has been bad for ever now and that it actually plays into Ben's ability to extend and make big plays. It's to the point that the Steelers could play back yard football and put 10 guys out in patterns and I think Ben would still have a 100 passer rating.

Ready for the game.

I like that the Steelers get to feed off the energy of the underdog role...but given the state of both teams' health and the way everyone has been performing, I think Green Bay probably deserves to be the favorite.

I can't say I've got a terribly good feeling heading into this one, but I'll be rooting my boys on for all I'm worth. I think the D is going to have to force some big plays for things to go the Black & Gold's way today.

Either way, couldn't ask to be matched up against a better, classier, more worthy franchise. 'Bout time these teams squared off for all the marbles. Good luck, GBguys. May the better team win.

People? Which people?

I have seen guesses Raji will line up over the center but in recent games he has not done that.

I would ignore the pundits, they are just trying to fill time in between the commercials(the real programs until the game starts).

I think anyone who feels good about this game doesn't understand how strong both teams are. One play or turnover can turn this game.

GO CHEESEHEADS

I'm way less confident in this one as I was for the last two. The Steelers were better than Seattle and Arizona. They may or may not be a better team than Green Bay. We'll see.

Not that anyone cares, but I'll throw this advice out to Steelers fans. During the SB two years ago, I sat on these message boards and bickered with the large anti-Steelers crowd. It borderline made the game less enjoyable. Won't be making that mistake this year. The computer goes off at 6:00 p.m.

My hope and prayer is for a clean and injury free game that is decided by the players. Ideally the officials and both head coaches will be on top of their game. It would be a shame for human error outside of that of the players to determine the outcome. I also hope that both of the fine fan bases of these proud franchises handle themselves with class and the utmost respect for their opposition. May the winning side do so with pride and humility. May the losing side do so with honor and graciousness.

And finally, may the best team win.

 And may the Packers be on the proud and humble side.

They are better for wiping up tears. ;)

Julian Assange just leaked final score of Super Bowl: 31-28. Packers.

Even though the Pack is a much better team I am confident of a Steeler victory for the simple fact that we own the referees. If things start to go against Pittsburgh, all Tomlin has to do is throw a red flag and change momentum. It's great to have the NFL in your back pocket.

I'm heading out very soon. please keep my liver in your thoughts tonight.

enjoy the game everyone, be you cheese or yinz. Be safe tonight.

please...no more "WE LOST" AND "I'M A LOSER" posts

Local news reporting that thousands of people are being denied entry to the game and have been getting the runaround by the folks at the stadium. Talked on the phone to a lady who is trying to get in and she said that there are a lot of irate people at the moment.

My brother is at the game in Dallas. He estimates the fans are at least 3 to 1 Steelers fans. Maybe more.
wow. this really surprises me. i would have thought it would be the other way around.
I've read about 10 tweets from different national media reporters and they say it's overwhelmingly Packer fans, who knows
I already explained this earlier. The Steelers fans arrived early, while the Packer fans were still tailgating and drinking. This is the way we roll.

You can celebrate for a first down in the middle of the field but if you touch the ground after a TD you get a 15 yard penalty. Seems off.

Milwaukee's mayor seems pretty confident...

In a news release, Barrett said he and his teenage son, Tommy, will bring gift baskets from Milwaukee sausage companies. "The fact that I will be watching the Packers win the Super Bowl with the Bears' 'Fan-in-Chief' is particularly satisfying," the mayor said in a statement.
He has every reason to be confident. Packers are the better team.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I can't wait to listen to you whine all off season
I wonder how funny you still think that is. :goodposting:
