What are you talking about? Now that Ted Cruz is cleared to be a citizen who can run for prez, can we keep tabs on the birthers who end up supporting him?
I want to make sure we document the hypocrisy. If Obama had the exact same situation they'd be all over him like flies on ####.
2nd stint.Confused on this one. Bill already had two terms. I assume this was a joke suggesting that a Hillary presidency would be like another Bill term, and it should have said 3rd term?BigSteelThrill said:A 2nd term for Bill is the best thing that could happen.[icon] said:God help us if Hillary wins...
Ted Cruz renounced his Canadian citizenship so there are no questions about his dual citizenship when he runs for president. He has that citizenship because he was born in Canada. What are you talking about? Now that Ted Cruz is cleared to be a citizen who can run for prez, can we keep tabs on the birthers who end up supporting him?

This unwillingness to acknowledge demographic realities are why you were so spectacularly wrong in November 2012. Even rational conservatives don't believe this.tommyboy said:The country is moving to the right, watch what happens in November
The Tea Party? Pretty sure they disbanded after they were "repudiated and defeated".the Tea Party didn't give one single dime to Brat.
I wouldn't have my finger to the wind too much. The title of the thread has been changed to reflect recent events.
My conclusion is more fun.I wouldn't have my finger to the wind too much. The title of the thread has been changed to reflect recent events.
Brat beat Cantor for a few reasons, one of which was an open primary were democrats were robo-called to vote out Cantor. Another was resentment that Cantor had his eyes on his own career in Washington and wasn't focused on his district. This thing wasn't completely driven by the Tea Party.
I recall that you made similar predictions in 2008 and 2012...tommyboy said:The country is moving to the right, watch what happens in November
When Barack has been on the ballot, a huge chunk of Americans who typically don't bother to vote show up at the polls.I recall that you made similar predictions in 2008 and 2012...tommyboy said:The country is moving to the right, watch what happens in November
Agree, let's rename it to accurately reflect their goals, any suggestions? The Tea Party? Pretty sure they disbanded after they were "repudiated and defeated".the Tea Party didn't give one single dime to Brat.

He actually wasn't supported by the big Tea Party donors either.I wouldn't have my finger to the wind too much. The title of the thread has been changed to reflect recent events.

The law is ambiguous, because it's not clear what "natural-born" means. One could argue that a foreign-born baby being entitled to American citizenship if at least one parent is an American is by definition "natural-born".Don't you have to be a natural-born citizen to run for President?Ted Cruz renounced his Canadian citizenship so there are no questions about his dual citizenship when he runs for president. Yes. But one of his parents was an American citizen, so he was born with American citizenship and was therefore born a citizen of the United States - not "naturalized" but rather "natural born" citizen.Don't you have to be a natural-born citizen to run for President?Ted Cruz renounced his Canadian citizenship so there are no questions about his dual citizenship when he runs for president. How do you know? It's virtually impossible to track funds if people don't want them tracked.the Tea Party didn't give one single dime to Brat.
Baby steps, grasshopper. Be patient and you will see. If there is one thing the federal government has proven over the years it is that they never give up control, they only take more. Once the foot is in the door, they will eventually control the whole thing.if the goal was to take control of the healthcare industry they did a really really ####ty job of it.No, it does precisely what its primary intention was....to obtain governmental control of the healthcare industry. Any talk of costs and benefits was merely sales tactics to get it passed. No, it's a collassal **** up of a law.Kind of off subject, but is the government still claiming that Obamacare will cost us nothing? I kind of remember either Obama or other people talking about it and saying that it would pay for itself in the long run. Is that still the thinking? Or is the ACA actually going to cost taxpayers money.
Thanks. I'll hang up and listen.
Isn't that what we have now?If a moderate republican won the white house, and the tea party controlled congress, do you think they would fight over issues or get along?

Of course. Moderate Republicans believe in compromise. They support immigration reform, and the Chamber of Commerce. They believe that government can assist banks, such as the Export-Import bank that helps Boeing sell it's planes overseas- what Tea Partiers scornfully call "crony capitalism."If a moderate republican won the white house, and the tea party controlled congress, do you think they would fight over issues or get along?

Not that I give a damn about the tea party, but your painting of other people's beliefs using only black and white for color is either a sign of a lack of congnitive thought or a lack of ability to communicate your thoughts effectively. You really come across as a ### when you post things like this. Most people see an entire spectrum of political beliefs, even within the parties. But then you come along and throw black and white paint on it 10,000 times a year. I appreciate that you are passionate about your beliefs. So am I. But you've got to realize you exist within the spectrum. So any attempt by you to paint it is going to be influenced by where you reside on it. So stop trying to paint it for others. I'm sure you'll ignore my request, but I had to say it none the less.Of course. Moderate Republicans believe in compromise. They support immigration reform, and the Chamber of Commerce. There are other differences as well (regarding the NSA and foreign policy).
What I described about the views of moderate Republicans, and the views of Tea Partiers, I believe to be generally true. Of course it's not true of everyone and I wasn't discussing the viewpoints of anyone in this forum or "regular people" anywhere, but of leading politicians who go by those titles, since the question was about the Presidrnt and Congress. Not sure why you're taking offense. If you think I am inaccurate in my depiction, then please be specific. Not that I give a damn about the tea party, but your painting of other people's beliefs using only black and white for color is either a sign of a lack of congnitive thought or a lack of ability to communicate your thoughts effectively. there is 0 chance this happensI said the lat two elections and is also true of this election, the GOP needs to focus like a laser beam on fiscal conservatism. Cutting spending and keeping taxes as low as possible. Tax cuts at this point is off the table until spending gets reigned in and you can't take a hard core stance against additional taxes either, but be against the types of punitive tax rates that attempt to soak the rich as we have seen in past generations.
Well, to start, your answer of "of course" didn't answer the question (unless you were attempting humor). The question was "would fight over issues or get along". By answering "of course" do you mean they would fight or get along? What I described about the views of moderate Republicans, and the views of Tea Partiers, I believe to be generally true.
