The Trent Richardson Thread (4 Viewers)

The Titans have been having trouble defending the pass this year and really been horrible at times.

They play two DEs at LB and have excellent safeties.

Their DC got creative last week. On one series he had 3 down linemen and then 7 rushing the passer and then 3. It caught the Bengals off guard for a bit, then they were fine.

Casey is a beast. For some reason teams feel the need to run right at him 4-5 times a game and get their RB smacked. Maybe it helps keep him grounded some? For whatever reason, expect Richardson to do this too because it's just oddly common.

The Titans have a solid DL and can make a good number of plays by themselves. Those LB/DEs can be out of position and the weak CBs can force the S to be helping in coverage. On the right play, a RB should be able to get past the DL and have a huge run against the Titans as they are sorely out of position.

They hit hard, harder than I've seen in years. You've got the excellent S and the much bigger DEs playing LB and it just seems like there's a handful of plays each week that make you swear you can almost feel it watching the game. Old Bradshaw, old Wayne, brittle Nicks, their prized QB....if the D looks fired up, I could see a few extra handoffs to Richardson to give their excitement a few plays to wear off. They are not very good on D. An offense can totally afford this luxury.

I expect the Colts to blow em out. Their CB play is terrible and Luck will probably make it seem so easy.

If I had Richardson I would start him to cover a bye this week. At worst, they're up 21-0 after one Q and he gets 20 carries and 50 yards eating up the clock. If it's at all close, as I said before, the Titans are sorely out of position to stop the run at times.

This is the week Richardson breaks out of his TD slump. He's getting plenty of touches in a good offense, including goal line carries. He's a good buy low for a RB needy team.

I do notice this thread is not getting close to the action lately. All the usual tools that would just hang out in here getting their rocks off by killing Trent have scattered. Guess that's what 3 straight good games will do.

Yeah, that 2.35 ypc was impressive today

15 rushes for 47 yds and 3 receptions for 23 yards vs. Jax is a good game?
for richardson it is
its probably the best game he has had in over two years. think about that

Your league goes by ypc? Weird
Strange scoring system.

In my league, 100 total yards and a TD is a pretty good game.

Probably one of these wacky new age leagues.

Yeah, they probably count 1 as 3 straight too.

Oh, and people are killing him for his crappy real life performances, not just fantasy.

I wasn't playing FF back then, but I'm going to assume people were making the same excuses for Leonard Russell.

Yeah, it was almost as good as Shady's 1.7 YPC.
Yep..that's it. T-Rich is better than McCoy.

The Shark Poll has officially lost it's mind.

So...what are their career YPC's.....LOL.

Ahmad Bradshaw in a walking boot after the game. Wasn't somebody in here pimping him hard?

The Colts came out of the game relatively injury free. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw left the game briefly with an ankle tweak but later returned. He left the locker room wearing a walking boot on his left foot as a precaution.
A walking boot is part of Ahmad's regular wardrobe, should have a sponsor deal on it by now.

Ahmad Bradshaw Injury History

63 weeks in his career where he was listed as at least probable. 39 of those 63 were for foot related injuries. 15 of the 39 he was listed as Questionable or worse.
yep, a walking boot is just normal footwear for Ahmad. Shows up Sunday more often than not.

The point is that YPC doesn't tell the entire story. If you're going to make your case on the value of RBs for fantasy based solely on that, you might want to find a new hobby.

Yeah YPC does not tell the whole story.

Just watch Trent Richardson run a few times.

Does he pass the eyeball test?

Just saw Ahmad Bradshaws walking boot line in the latest JC Penny catalog. You can get it in Giant blue or Colt white. Heard they are also coming out with trainers table grey. Order now!

Obtuse much?

The two sides of this debate are pretty clear and pretty repetitive at this point.

We've got the guys leaning on recent fantasy production assuming that will continue, and proclaiming they were right all along.

Then we have the guys who look at his NFL efficiency and say he still sucks and they were right all along.

You girls are both pretty. Richardson HAS been a fantasy value so far. He also apparently still can't run the football very efficiently which doesn't bode well for his "future" production. Eventually, a guy getting less than 3 yards per carry is going to be replaced for those carries. But it may not be this year, in which case it sure looks like Richardson will give you a solid ROI.
