The value of Chris Henry (1 Viewer)

Yes it is only one week, but how many times is Tab Perry going to drop his catches? As a Carson Palmer owner in 3 leagues, I am fully expecting Carson to not be as good as he can be (and I have great expectations from him) until Henry comes back.

When the Bengals were in the redzone, Carson threw to Tab once and he dropped it.

Expect some drop off from Carson until Henry comes back. On the flip side, expect more catches for Rudi (again a by product of no Henry) since he will be the 3rd targetted player from Carson going forward ....

It was only one game, but I think you might be on to something. It looks like people who were trying to figure out the WR3 in Cincy were wasting their time. I think Chris Henry made the Bengals WR3 spot valuable and not the other way around. Now that he's out for a while, I don't expect to see much output from any Bengal WR not named CJ or Housh.

I think Chris Henry is a real talent. Sure it helps that he has CJ & Housh drawing attention, but I heard an interview with Carson Palmer last year where he said Chris Henry had as much raw talent as the other two. Certainly it looked like it this summer. You have to remember that Chris Henry is also very young, heck he looks like he's 17 years old. I've been trying to grab him in rounds 17 or later in WCOFF Satellite's for the stretch run, he'll make a real nice WR4, and if Chad or TJ were to miss any time, Henry would be a viable WR2. I also just traded G.Jenings for him in a Dynasty league. Some might call that crazy, but I see Jennings as the 3rd wheel in GB now and I'd rather have Cincy's 3rd wheel with Palmer tossing the rock than Aaron Rodgers next year.

I actually expect Carson's TD production to drop....more Rudi and more FGs.....since Housh is a good red zone target but Chad is not. Chad will get his on bombs but the 20 yards or less stuff that Henry used to get will be missing....and that will cause more FGs and more screens/runs to/by Rudi in the red zone.

Idon't know how much Chris Henry's absence affected all the over and under throws Palmer was tossing up. At times he looked pretty bad, not even giving the WR a chance to drop it. First game rust I'm sure.

For the bengals offense to really shine they need Henry in the line-up as well as a good receiving, 3rd down back like Perry. Thats why they took Irons in the 2nd (too bad he's out for the year) because i think they realized they couldn't count on Perry ever getting healthy.

Henry had 1st round talent at WR the year he was drafted. He fell all the way to the 3rd round because of off the field and character concerns. Those concerns have obviously since been born out to be correct. Guy was a teammate and friend of Pacman's in college, not all that surprising they are both serving suspensions right now.

there was 1 or 2 plays where it looked as though perry might have run the wrong route or there was miscommunication btw him and carson... but the rest of the misses were the result of carson's bad passesi think the stat they showed last night has a lot to do with this, where carson's qb rating skyrockets the further down the field he goes... chris henry's value lies in his ability catch deep balls... last night, tab was running 10-15 yd crossing and out routes... i just think carson's forte is the deep ball while he's average with the intermediate stuff

The ultimate vision of this offense included Henry complimenting Chad and Housh, along with a healthy Chris Perry complimenting Rudi. Unfortunately 2 of those pieces are missing currently. It has ridiculous potential with those components together, and I would love to see it come to fruition some day.
