I disagree. Kima obviously got more screen time, but the Dukie arc was more important to the show. The next crop of junkies and players moving onto the field.

I liked the Dukie arc season 4 but I thought the way they handled him as "the next bubbles" was poor.Kima getting shot was major.

Clay Davis is awesome but I would be fine flipping him and Bubs to make Bubbles a 2 seed and Davis a 7 seed.

Also, I think De'londa gets an honorable mention. Possibly the worst mother on TV since Penny's mom on Good Times.

 
Cheese didn't really stand out on the show. He was involved in some plot lines, but he didn't do anything memorable besides betray his uncle.

Agree. If they're worried about not enough people knowing the obscure characters, they need to remember this is being filled out by Wire fans. No fan of the show "only" remembers a couple of the big name characters.IMDB shows 66 characters that appeared at least 13 times. And that's not even counting Ziggy's duck or Fuzzy Dunlap.

It's a less arbitrary way to get to 32, if you start with 64. No one is saying Slim Charles should beat Omar, but there are some in the final 32 he did have a legit shot at besting if they were an 8/9 or 7/10 match-up.

Easy to complain about rankings, but its up to voters so all you gotta do is beat whoever youre going against. Rankings sort of moot here.

I do think there were quite a few misses on omissions/inclusions

Surprised no one has mentioned Sydnor yet. Id defintiely have him in the 32.

A few people have questioned Wallace, Dukie, Wee-Bey, and Cutty but I think theyre all worthy.

You can't take Daniels out.He was awesome in so many ways.The way he told Prezbo how he was going to handle pistol whipping the kid.Then when he told prezbo he had to get a lawyerHow he stuck up for his guysWasn't gonna be jooking any statsOnly knock is walking around like he had a 4' broom stick up his ###

Ziggy was classic. He belongs in more than anyone introduced in Season 2 (including Spiros).

I know your a Sopranos fanboy RN but as I have said before in other threads. If something = to Rawls being in a gay bar happened in the Sopranos after season 2 it would have been the main story of the season. In the wire its just a little factoid to help understand a charachter. Stark contast here and just one of the reasons why The Wire is the best series ever IMHO.

If something = to Rawls being in a gay bar happened in the Sopranos after season 2 it would have been the main story of the season. His point is why would Rawls risk being found out by going to a place that close to home. Wouldn't it make more sense to indulge in that somewhere farther away? Though I suppose it could be argued that what other cop is going to see him unless he is also gay. If someone just happened to see him walking out, he probably would have some excuse like he was on an investigation or something. I guess he'd have to be careful not to walk out with anyone he picked up.

This is silly and way over-analyzing. He's a person. He doesn't feel like driving down to DC to have a few beers and get some head. But if we have to really think about it, the likelihood of anybody recognizing him is slim and none and even if somebody does, they're gay, too, and gay people don't run around outing people who are in the closet, no matter how much of an ahole they are at work. And even if he was found out, who would care? You don't run for commissioner.

You have this badass who scares the hell out of everyone for five seasons, and instead of a possible Marlo/Omar showdown, he gets taken out by a little hopper. Even the way the scene was shot was anti-climactic. One second he's buying cigarettes, and the next second he's laying on the ground. No buildup, no tension, no suspense. Nothing. It wasn't a death befitting a television icon.

I think that was all on purpose to show that these guys don't have the glamorous endings that you might think. Also, it shows vulnerability in the most badass.

I disagree on this one. It was a perfect death. No banger, not Stringer, not Marlo, no one, could get near Omar without getting smoked. The only way to take him out, aside from global thermonuclear war (maybe), was exactly how it happened. And I think it was intentionally unsatisfying. Omar was The Man in the streets but once his body got to the morgue he was virtually anonymous. His body got mistagged even. Nobody knew or cared who he was. I think that was all very intentional.
