The Wire (1 Viewer)

Season 3 starts next Sunday on Directv 101. I'm not a big fan of this season due to the ridiculousness awesomeness of Hamsterdam, but am still looking forward to watching it again.

That might be fixed in your mind but not in mine. I'm sorry, that's just not happening on that scale. It wouldn't make it 2 weeks (if that) before it all fell apart. It's a cool idea but it's just not realistic and that's what I expected from the show.

I cant recall exactly, but do they ever really give a timeline in The Wire?? For all we know,it only lasted a week or 2, its just that a lot of #### went down in that couple of weeks

good stuff! actually i can picture that. i have been rewatching oz. i forgot damn near half the cast was on oz. Daniels plays a undercover cop who gets hooked to dope.

100 is not enough . . .

what about when Barksdale was lecturing Stringer "I told you about playing those (expletive) away games!!!"

that line is (easily) in my top ten . . .

Think Avon would have given up Stringer if he didn't admit to having D'Angelo clipped?

In other words, was sending Omar after Brother Mouzone enough of a betrayal on its own, or did the D'Angelo situation seal his fate?

Count the number of times in season 2 Spiros is drinking coffee in the scenes at the diner.
I assume every single time - although I have no idea how many times that was.
Pretty much. I am flying through every season again... it's the only reason I notice little things like this. He must have spent a lot of time in the bathroom. :pickle:

Just saw the most amazing episode since I started watching on Directv channel 101. It was the 6th episode of season 3. Tensions between Stringer and Avon percolating with Avon wanting his corners back, Cutty deciding the game wasnt for him, the cops trying different strongarm tactics to get the sellers to Hamsterdam, Marlo's willingness to take power, Daniels walking into the office at the end, and the best of all Omar's confrontation with Bunk. My God that was good TV

You are just getting started. I would say that episode is just the beginning to things actually heating up.

The Sopranos would have had a whole season dedicated to this three second event.

:goodposting: I think the 4th season is the best overall season, but episode 11 of season 3 is my favorite episode of the entire series.

It was a fantastic episode, but if we started discussing all the eopisodes, my reply would be redundant . . .

Just finished season 3. I got the box set less than 2 weeks ago. There are some great characters in this series. Can wait to start season 4 tonight. This series definately lived up to the hype. I found the first few episodes of of season 1 slow but they had to lay foundation which ends makes everything better in the long run.

I've been rewatching Season 5 lately. I didn't like it when it first came out and still don't overall, but it does have some great moments.

There are many reasons why S5 isn't one of the best (shortened season, McNulty, etc.) but there are many good things about it from the standpoint of what it does to continue, and wrap up, the story.

Snoop keepin it real:

'The Wire' actress arrested in drug raid

By The Baltimore Sun

Felicia Pearson poses in Baltimore. (Marvin Joseph/Post)

More than 30 people, including the actress known as "Snoop" from the Baltimore-based HBO series "The Wire," were arrested Thursday morning across the city and its surrounding counties in connection with a large-scale heroin and marijuana operation.

Raids were carried out in the pre-dawn hours by agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration, Baltimore police and a slew of other federal and state law enforcement agencies.

Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, known for her drug-assassin character on "The Wire," was taken into custody at a downtown apartment on a state warrant, officials said.

The actress has a troubled past, having been convicted at age 14 of second-degree murder. More recently, she refused to testify as a witness at a murder trial and was arrested at her then-Northeast Baltimore home.

The arrests are part of a five-month drug investigation, officials said.

Just finished S3Fuuuuuuuuuckn epic scene with Avon and Stringer on the terrace overlooking the harbor.
Absolutely Shakespearean in its emotions of love, shared struggle, and betrayal. That and the final sequence of the final episode are the two greatest moments of The Wire for me.

After watching Season 3 for the second time I realize that my hatred of the Hamsterdam storyline overshadowed what was a brilliant season. I've moved the season up in rankings: 4-1-3-2-5

Can't wait to go through Season 4 again. IMO the best single season of TV ever.

I'm so sad that this is over, and angry that there isn't a 6th season.

Although I did like how Syndor = new McNulty as he spills the beans to judge Phelan, then asks for his name to be left out of it, ya right!

I also like how dukie is basically the new bubbles, and Michael is the new Omar.

Just would have loved to see more.

:sadbanana:
