Religion and Money are just tools which can be abused.  It is the people's greed or quest for power which causes most problems by playing off of people's fear, ignorance, and self pity.  If religion did not exist, they would just use politics to obtain their power.  There is nothing inherently evil about money, it is the people quest for money which can produce evil actions.  So don't blame the method or the tools, it is the people which is the problem.
