Mendenhall, Sweed. The Detroit Lions are still the Detroit Lions. The only team in the NFL that both #1 and #2 picks are sitting on the bench.
Turf toeWhat's up with McFadden? how does that guy get caught from behind yesterday?
I agree - something didn't look rightTurf toeWhat's up with McFadden? how does that guy get caught from behind yesterday? He had ran 30 yards at full speed, the safety had ran 5 at full speed and was right behind him.
Young QBs never suck. In any given year, look at the top 10 fantasy QBs. Anywhere between 60-80% of those guys will have cracked the top 10 by their second season as a starter. QBs that are going to be fantasy relevant are almost always fantasy relevant by the end of their second season. Not all young quarterbacks are going to suck. If you check your top scorers at QB, odds are it looks something like: Cutler, Rodgers, Rivers.
I agree with this, but I think we're forgetting about how good Rivers has played too. 38/60(63.3%), 594 yards, 6 TDs, 1 INT, 122.5 rating.Eli has matured into a good QB, but Cutler is emerging as an elite QB in the NFL.
FixedIt's going to be a New York vs. New Jersey Superbowl! Bills VS. Giants
I would dial back on this one a bit until they prove they can win a meaningful road gameAz might win 12 games this season...
It was a bad pass but Moss should have caught that ball. Reeves didn't knock it out.Yes he did.The ball bounced off Moss's chest. Revis had good coverage for most of the day, but not on that one, he never touched it.
If SD is to do anything this year, they're going to have to step up the D. The Panthers pounded them a lot more than the score indicated, and Denver, well, we all saw that. Maybe losing Merriman will be too much to overcome.Great thread. This is the only one I don't agree with. Sure they might not win it all, but they will be one of the better teams in the AFC, thus have a decent shot at winning it all. They could easily be 2-0 right now after losing to the Panthers in the last play of the game and to the Broncos because of the ref.San Diego, my pre-season pick to win it all, won't.
Favre is a shill. This season (and the picks) is his going away present to the Pack. It's a guise. A mirage. They're in cahoots, I say.The Panthers will be extremely good this year. Their defense will be the best in the league.
Green Bays front office look like Einstein right now for knowing what they had and playing their hand to get draft picks from the jets.
Farve is horrible and will only regress.
Dallas is not the best team in the NFC
Might this go down as one of the greatest drafts for RB's? Maybe there's another draft that produced so many studs. This has the making to be the equivalent of the '83 QB draft (I think it was '83 - Marino and others)This years rookie class of rbs will produce superstars and solid startersDmac, Stewart, C. Johnson, Forte are already making huge impacts on their teams. This is not to mention the potential of Mendy, Rice, Kevin Smith and others...
Chase is fast? These fast kids that play Quarterback in college just don't make it in the pros. Culpepper-Moss=disaster. Vick=not a winner. Young=backup. Chase Daniels, Terrelle Pryor, is it too late to get on the baseball team?
Yeah Culpepper-Moss=disaster? Huh? You must have just started watching football. He was the #1 FF QB 3 out of 5 years, one of the other years he was #2. And Moss was pretty much the best WR in the league. Yeah, horrible failure.Vick has a career winning percentage above .500, and has won multiple playoff games (with an awful team). McNabb/McNair have had tons of success. Steve Young was a mobile running QB, and sorta won a SB/MVP.Vick was a winner, he was certainly an above average QB while he was in the league. Culpepper was fine until he destroyed his knee. McNair and Cunningham were also very successful in that type of mold. These fast kids that play Quarterback in college just don't make it in the pros. Culpepper-Moss=disaster. Vick=not a winner. Young=backup. Chase Daniels, Terrelle Pryor, is it too late to get on the baseball team?
Hi Hater.Except when he's off the field. Look for Marshall to f-up again soon. If there ever was a sell high in dynasty leagues, it's Brandon Marshall.Brandon Marshall is worth his weight in GOLD
Fixed. This was named after the hockey division since they used to play so tough.... hence the "Black and Blue" division moniker also.minnesota is overrated. maybe not now, but pre-season they were. they were picked to win the NorseNorris by some, and possibly challenge for a SB!maybe that was with favre and not jackson, but still this team not there yet.
Eli has matured into a good QB, but Cutler is emerging as an elite QB in the NFL.
FreeKing great post!Jay Cutler is/will soon be an elite QB. Props to Yudkin's QB rankings.Warner is really good when healthy. It was his thumb that ultimately derailed the Rams more than anything else IMO.Brandon Marshall's goal of 140 catches is attainable.Tony Scheffler is a top 5 TE. SD's defense is lost without Wade Philips. The Panthers are a very real threat in the NFC.The AFC north is the worst division in football apart from PIT.Mike Brown still sucks.com.Carl Peterson is KC's problem, not Herm Edwards. LT's days of being a top 5 RB are over and that team now belongs to Rivers. The St. Louis Rams have made a huge mistake trying to rebuild the DL instead of the OL. All their money is on offense. Brian Griese is an NFL starting QB when he has an offensive-minded HC like Shanahan or Gruden. He is carving out a decent average career.Braylon Edwards' hands still suck. Kellen Winslow and Jamal Lewis look like the only real football players on that team.T.O. will have his best year as a pro in terms of TDs in 2008. Felix Jones should keep the KR job regardless of who gets healthy and also see looks on PRs over Adam Jones.Aaron Rodgers is a very good football player on a very good football team.MIN is at a serious handicap with Bryant Mckinnie's suspension. His return will turn on the light for that offense. The PIT OL is better this year without Faneca.Reggie Bush will make one play every game that makes him worth a start.
Jeff Saturday is the Colts' MVP.
Rivers will only help LT when he's back to 100%, I don't think his skills have diminished that much over one year but if he has lingering injuries you could be right about THIS YEARJamal Lewis looks like garbage, as does the rest of that team except maybe Winslow.LT's days of being a top 5 RB are over and that team now belongs to Rivers.Braylon Edwards' hands still suck. Kellen Winslow and Jamal Lewis look like the only real football players on that team.
What would make you say he isn't "as good as he's looked"? 200+ yards and a score = playing over your head?Trent Edwards doesn't suck anymore.
He doesn't suck, but I don't think he's as good as he's looked so far either
Matt Cassel wins MVP.Patriots win the Super Bowl and go undefeated.Tom Brady returns in '09 as a backup. These things I'm convinced of.
You're SURE of thatCarl Peterson is KC's problem, not Herm Edwards.
I know the language filter will take the important word out but hoenstly I can't say it another way:Herm Edwards is an awful ####### coach. You're SURE of thatCarl Peterson is KC's problem, not Herm Edwards.Couldn't they both be mediocre?
I've quietly been a big Edwards fan since his rookie season, when there were a lot of positive tea leaves hinting towards future success. He dominated in the preseason and it was pretty obvious that the organization was looking for an excuse to start him over Losman despite the fact that JP was coming off a promising year.Edwards is extremely smart, mature, and poised. He doesn't have the rifle arm of JaMarcus Russell and I suspect the lack of flashy physical skills is part of the reason why he hasn't generated much excitement from the FF community, but he has all the mental intangibles needed to be a winning starter for a long time. What would make you say he isn't "as good as he's looked"? 200+ yards and a score = playing over your head?Trent Edwards doesn't suck anymore.

I don't expect Edwards to complete 71% of his passes, 8.3 yards per attempt or continue to throw TDs without turning the ball over. He's QB13 right now in FBG scoring, which I think is about as good as it gets for him. What would make you say he isn't "as good as he's looked"? 200+ yards and a score = playing over your head?Trent Edwards doesn't suck anymore.

I agree. The guy just looks like the prototypical QB.I've quietly been a big Edwards fan since his rookie season, when there were a lot of positive tea leaves hinting towards future success. Stats schmats. That doesn't really answer the question of how he's "looked". Are you watching Buffalo? There's nothing in his play to suggest he'll take a dive. Maybe he'll drop to 65% completion, but this offense takes well-timed shots and he's smart with the ball. I would expect the nice YPA and good decision making to continue based on what I've seen these past two games.I don't expect Edwards to complete 71% of his passes, 8.3 yards per attempt or continue to throw TDs without turning the ball over. It's all in good fun. I don't think it's very productive to jump into a thread and shred it for no reason. I haven't seen anyone indicate they're taking this thread too seriously. At the end of the day, predictions are no different than your most educated guess as to future outcomes at any specific moment in time. You wouldn't have been troubled (presumably) by a thread making bold predictions in the preseason. This is no different.Frankly I find threads like these a lot more fun, informative and engaging than the inevitable "I TOLD YOU SO" threads we see crop up. I wish I had the time to have a lightning fast index of everyone's comments tagged to every player. So that whenever someone posts a thread to brag how they CALLED something, we could just as quickly post a thread reminding them that they royally screwed up another prediction. Such is the nature of fantasy football prognostication.I'm convinced it's pretty stupid to be drawing many conclusions after two weeks.
Really, the back and forth about Randy Moss being worthless without Brady didn't seem serious to you? Also, I see the same people making the same comments over and over again that they make in every other thread involving player X here. Some of it is chest thumping, some of it is saying stuff just to say stuff.Sorry about the unproductive comment, this thread just seems ridiculous to me, as did the one like this from last year, and the year before, and the year before that...It's all in good fun.
