maybe. the kid's only reason for getting them is trade with friends at school- it's become a whole social thing.

I don't think we even have 25 of those to trade yet.

Isn't 25 like two packs worth? It's like a dozen and a bonus one in each? Maybe?

 
Gotta say I'm lucky.... Daughter has kids in her class with like 300 of them....

We bought a package of 20 and my wife gave her 2 at a time as reward for doing good things....lol

She seems content, so far... I almost feel like picking up some more but, i never know which one's to get - they're all the same to me....

Link me up with a good deal on something new....... I search Amazon Season 3 and it come out as 12 for $89.00 - WTF!!!!

If they were easier to find, I'd get more..

they sell 6 packs and 2 packs... which is what I've bought.

the wife put her mom on the job- lives in NoVA amidst Kohls and other discount places- this woman has a room full of beanie-babies because one of her grandkids expressed a slight interest. we're going to be awash in these ####### things soon. and just in time for summer when there's nobody to trade with... which means my kid's interest in them will be nada

Just wait it out til season 3 is almost over and it should be more in stock and cheaper (at least I hope. Still cant even find season 2 in stores)

Limit 1 per customer, but you can keep doing it after you check out from what I can tell

Each of my kids will get 1 12 pack and 1 5 pack

Can't wait for 3D printing to become ubiquitous so there's no such thing as a 'rare' POS piece of plastic.

 
This #### is a hell of a lot cheaper than my baseball card collection, and will be no less worthless in 20 years (or weeks).

 
I just donated boxes full of various collections that my kids have accumulated and lost interest in: BayBlades, Backagons, ZuZu Pets, Pokemon(cards and figures), My Little ponies, Webkinz, Angry Birds, Ugly dolls, disney princess figures, tea cup pigs etc. At least a few grand worth of crap

My youngest was into shopkins around Christmas but interest has dissipated. She still plays with them but hasn't asked for any new ones. She's actually a good player(unlike my older kids were) so she gets a lot of use out of them at least.

Cheesy practice imo when it comes to kids toys. Parents don't buy kids toys cause they like them , they buy them to see the glow in their kids eyes. Artificially ramping up the demand and price just so you can skim off the top is sleezy as ####.

That's just my opinion.

 
Kid got 2 S3 packs for her birthday from a friend. Ours are still sitting in TRU online world somewhere.

I'm probably overly supportive of my daughter's shopkins love, but I am not going anywhere near a swapkins.

only idiots here for 30 minutes until the next person showed up :kicksrock:

 
So that could have been the least smooth thing ever

Due to me being an idiot whack job, we were out of the house at 6:15. Hit some traffic on the GWB and was outside toys r us by 7:30. Next person doesn't show til 8, and the third shows up at 9:15 when the store is already open. Ok, so we are first in line and are sitting there until 11 when the shopkin people show up. They move us to an official line and wait for 45 minutes. They let us in at 12 with no direction. We went the wrong way and my daughter got upset she was no longer first. Nice people in front of us realize, and let us go since it was a ffa

The first station is the swap station. My daughter swaps 5 real quick and my son swaps 3. Pretty sure the workers were informed to keep it to 1 after we went. Next station was coloring. They ended that quick when they realized how long it was taking. Changed to a second swap station.

Then we took pics with Sandra and Spidey from youtube. Each of my kids got a shopkin from them with spideys name written on the bottom. Also got a poster and trading card.

And here is where I almost went MOP in a toy store. We go to get our limited edition, 1 of 800 apple blossoms and are told that it's one per family. So the three solo adults before we exited each got one, but me and two kids are supposed to share one. I could care less about me, but no way im allowing this. I go back and forth with the clueless girl for a minute and am only starting to get annoyed. My 8 year old daughter, in the most unselfish thing she has ever done, grabs me and says daddy its ok, lets go and gives the special edition to my son. Well at this point, I'm super pissed. She deserves one of these stupid things now.

So I tell them we are getting back in line.and that they will never remember us. My daughter, visibly upset and almost crying is urging me to forget it and lets please leave. I see how hurt she is. I make one last ditch effort to grab the head shopkins lady and am successful. I explain that we were here first, we read each person gets one and we were given one as a.family. She tells me she will grab me an extra. MOP style confrontation averted. I didnt care about one for me.

We left, drove to the local tru and swapped there.

Just not a well thought out event

Wait.....So you spent your Saturday driving into/out of the city and spent 5+ hours at a toys r us just to stand in line and get a "special edition" 2 inch plastic piece of food that was made in China for like 1/10th of penny? Is this what you really have to go through to make kids happy these days? If so, my decision not to ever have kids is looking better and better.

When I was a kid, I loved GI Joe's. I had dozens of them. I know my parents spent way too much time/money taking me to buy them, putting decals on vehicles, putting together the giant ####### space center playset, etc. But at least GI Joe's did SOMETHING. And we sure as hell never stood in line for half a day to buy one of them.

 
Tlef, I didnt have to do it, but I knew they would like it so I did

Floppo, yup, Times square. Was the only place offering special edition.

 
My daughter's obsession is only getting worse.... :loco:

Yesterday I took her to one of those Shopkin swaps at a local Toys R Us. Got there about 30 minutes before it started and there's maybe 10 kids/parents in line. Daughter grows impatient and asks to walk around, so we do. Come back with 10 minutes to go and there's maybe 15 kids/parents in line. Get to the table and it's LAME. The poster she got had seasons 1-3 on it, so that was kinda cool (for her). But then she got to pick a card that has a Shopkin on the front. Whoopee! The Toys R Us employee then gives me some handouts that amounts to signing up for a Toys R Us credit card... NO THANKS! Then the kids are all parked on the floor trading. Was pretty cool for my daughter, who had never done such a thing before. She only took her duplicates and traded them all within 3 minutes. One girl even gave her one...

 
check this ####, so we are missing a bunch of S1, wife finds a 5 pack on amazon for reasonable price and prime, but it's not from amazon, it's a private seller.

Well the pack gets here and he found a way to pull out the yellow one in the bag (the secret one I think)

The girls, and my wife want me to hunt this guy down and stab this guy in the liver.

My daughter found out about Shopkins and has been watching unwrapping videos on Youtube. Watched one with her today and at the end I asked her some questions:

Me: What you do with Shopkins after you open them?

Her: You look at them

Me: Then what?

Her: You put them in a case until you get bored.

Me: Then what?

Her: Then you give them away.
