Nah. People have owned guns since before the country was founded. Nothing has changed there. Was never viewed as "hoarding all their stupid guns" until the current generation came along and started becoming outraged over everything.

Huh. Just haven't seen any of that around here. They rent downtown. Then buy/rehab in a neighborhood near downtown that once was great then wasnt and now is on the way back. Then procreate and move out to the suburbs with us old millenials.
The questionable decisions I see them make are choice of suburb and type of house at a particular price point. That's the current market though.

Uh, have you entered the movie and TV threads? It's not just millennials driving the popularity of the superhero movies. If they are to blame for those, then we are probably to blame for all the remakes and reboots being popular. I don't think they give two craps about Cobra Kai and the new Top Gun.

What does that have to do with anything? There were superhero movies with big stars before Nolan's Batman: Superman, Spiderman, the 80s-90s Batman series. Star Wars came out in an era of small, gritty, character based, dark and tough movies like The French Connection, Serpico, Chinatown, Rocky, The Exorcist and Taxi Driver. Star Wars was big, fun, light. and more about the special effects and grandeur on display over the acting, characters, screenplay, etc. It became a worldwide phenomenon where people would see the movie over and over, the studios saw the $$$ to be made from endless licensing and the power of sequels. It's really the beginning of the comic book/sequel driven era. It developed slowly in the 80s and 90s but really kicked into gear when those kids who saw Empire 10x in the theater and owned every Star Wars toy, lunchbox and spinoff book became the adults running Hollywood.

Just saw on the news some high schools here are taking cell phones away. One kid whining how it's unfair. 
We didn't have cell phones. If we were trying to communicate during class we passed notes.

Sure, but once people have something, they don't react well to it not working or being taken away. I am sure most adults would be pretty pissed off if their employer banned cell phones and planned on confiscating them.Just saw on the news some high schools here are taking cell phones away. We couldn't keep cell phones on our desks. On breaks we could do whatever. Productivity improved. And no surfing the web unless we were on break. We survived. I think that's one minus of technology is you get spoiled.

Most classes I’ve ever taught have mostly the same policy. It’s the confiscation part that kids were usually real touchy about. Maybe you didn’t mean taking away as in physically taking them but just not letting them use their phones.

I made the associates that worked for me keep their cell phones in their lockers. I kept walking in the cooler and they would be on them was losing productivity so it was keep them in your lockers or leave them in your car.

I got a clown that does this in my produce department. He's absolutely rude and ignorant. Always thinks he's the one right. He cut his finger about a month ago and the Dr's note said he could only do light duty which we have non. They let him work as there are some stuff to prepare he can do. Meanwhile his brother is telling people that his brother who is hurt is out bowling and stuff with the hand. Was he hurt? Absolutely 9 stitches. However he wants to go to work and get paid but doesn't want to do ####. My ASD yelled at him before I went on vacation when he tried to get out of doing a task she told him to do.

Yeah parents can be pretty sensitive about this. I’ve seen some parents get quite hostile about their kids not having access to their phone. Also I think it’s better to teach kids how to use their phones productively and self control than to just out right ban them.Off-topic, but I'm not sure taking away phones is schools is a good idea for emergency reasons. Honestly, most of this stuff isn't generational but age based. It's more about how people act when they are young, middle age and retirement age. When we are young, we don't know what it will like to be older and we are older, we forget what it was like to be young. The ones that are most accurate are the trends like avocado toast, gender reveal parties or how people use new technology like always talking on speakerphone.
