Things you'll (probably) never do? (1 Viewer)

My serious answer is going on a cruise. I've been pretty vocal here about how I dislike the idea of cruises for multiple reasons. Mainly, I see absolutely no advantage to a cruise over just directly visiting whatever destination it is you're going to. No forced schedules. Better food options, no norovirus, etc.
Yeah no real desire for this. I’d maybe consider a Pacific Northwest cruise but in general I just don’t get the appeal
You guys are missing one thing: riverboat cruise. That's the kind of cruising you should leave yourself open to.

Like at Disney?

I hate cruises, but Alaska cruise was great. Best way to see Glacier Bay National Park and the Alaskan coast cities like Juneau and Ketchikan, since can’t drive from one to the other.

Yeah these are a possible exception and I've heard they are pretty nice.

I'm talking about those giant major cruiseline monstrosities. I'd be fine if they were just banned altogether.

Oh yeah same, I have never and will never go on a Carnival style ocean cruise. i've been on 2 Viking Europeann riverboat cruises with my in-laws and it's fantastic. Just like a traveling hotel.

I am certainly not a cruise guy and have only ever done one (Disney cruise with the kids) and I heavily prefer just hanging at an all-inclusive, but I think the obvious answer here is when "whatever destination you're going to" is multiple places.

Viking cruise, Alaskan cruise, etc. But even the mention of all-inclusives above isn't a fair one as a lot of Caribbean cruises are sooooo friggin cheap they're just in a different price range. If I lived in Florida and could just hop on one without flights it probably would've happened by now with some of the ridiculous offers they throw out there.

Even with multiple stops I would prefer to just fly. Or ferry if they are islands.

For me, it's about having to go by the boat's schedule. I've been reading that in many ports, passengers now only get about 4 hours in some cases? To me, that completely defeats the purpose of visiting a destination. Even if it's longer, I hate being on a schedule like that.

I would say cruise as well, but there are some really cool European river cruises I would definitely consider.

The gigantic Florida to multiple gift shops in the Caribbean I can say for SURE I ain't ever doing. I don't care if it's free.

My brother has done a couple Virigin ones, and likes them.
