I like Michael McDonald, but always preferred the Tom Johnston led version.  To me ...that was the Doobies.  And what a run they had - that trio of "Toulouse Street", "The Captain And Me", "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits" ...I don't recall a bad song on them.  And that was when you put the album on and listened all the way through.  It was great falling in love with the songs that weren't getting airplay.

Maxwell announced he's got a new album coming out in 2022. It'll be the third in his Black Summers' Night series with some kind of unique capitalization to distinguish it from BLACKsummers'night and blackSUMMERS'night.  He'll be touring behind it as well.

I could have gone with the more well known hits - but I think most recognize it once they hear it.  It's definitely my favorite of a bunch of their songs that I love.  

I have not heard this in FOREVER.  Great stuff.

The recent TV reboot reprised the scene using Swamp Dogg's Lonely.

We watched it early in lockdown while everyone else was watching Tiger King. Rob's gender change to Zoe Kravitz was an upgrade and the record store scenes had excellent chemistry. Alas Hulu didn't pick it up for a second season.

Now someone asked if he’d do one for Texas if Beto wins governor there, and he said sure.  Then Steve Albini offered him free studio and engineering for it, and he said sure.  Then OH said he’d do all the cooking for it, and Steve vouched for him, so Isbell said sure.

No matter what your politics are, I ask you to root for Beto in a long-shot here so that we can go cook at Jason Isbell’s recording session.  Kthx.
