More of a "Red Eyes' guy myself. But both great.7.?? The War on Drugs - Under The Pressure
I could listen to this song every day and not get sick of it.

Great story, best of luck to Beto.I was waiting for Jason Isbell to be taken so I could tell my new story.
Didn't know this until a couple of days ago, but he made a pledge that if Biden won Georgia, he’d put out a record of covers of songs by Georgia artists, which he just released.
Now someone asked if he’d do one for Texas if Beto wins governor there, and he said sure. Then Steve Albini offered him free studio and engineering for it, and he said sure. Then OH said he’d do all the cooking for it, and Steve vouched for him, so Isbell said sure.
No matter what your politics are, I ask you to root for Beto in a long-shot here so that we can go cook at Jason Isbell’s recording session. Kthx.
Great story, best of luck to Beto.
I have a question as an interested observer/non-participant in this draft. So, now that Drive By Truckers are taken, does that mean Jason Isbell would be off the board too? I haven't spent a lot of time in music draft threads. I apologize if I should have PMed my question to a draft participant and not posted it in the thread.
Matt Barrick was the drummer for that song, right? I'm trying to remember who drummed on what at what time in the band's existence. Perhaps he was always the drummer, but I remember somebody switching instruments at some point. Perhaps my memory is faulty.Either way, the drumming is SPECTACULAR.
I’m going to take a stab: blacksummers’NIGHT.Maxwell announced he's got a new album coming out in 2022. It'll be the third in his Black Summers' Night series with some kind of unique capitalization to distinguish it from BLACKsummers'night and blackSUMMERS'night. He'll be touring behind it as well.
Yep
So many tunes.7.30 Nicotine and Gravy - Beck
Had to go through Beck's catalogue today to remind myself which song I Iove the most. He has so many great ones. I think Midnite Vultures was his best album, and this song captures the essence of Beck's nutty, groovy virtuosity.
I'll feed you fruit that don't exist...
I'll leave graffiti where you've never been kissed...
I'll do your laundry, massage your soul...
I'll turn you over to the highway patrol...

No, he should be eligible still.Great story, best of luck to Beto.

I toiled over his work yesterday too. He's got to be one of the most difficult artists to pick a "best" considering how different his albums are from each other. Similar to you, I honed in on what I think is his best album, Odelay, and chose my favorite song, Novacaine. That conclusion would likely be different today, however.7.30 Nicotine and Gravy - Beck

I agree, although I do love one of their newer songs, "Thoughts and Prayers".Patterson's singing can sometimes be a lot for me
What a cool story. Thanks for sharing. As someone who worked on Kinky Friedman's independent campaign (almost!) against Perry back in 2006 I'm all in against Abbott.I was waiting for Jason Isbell to be taken so I could tell my new story.

If I didn’t have a draft schtick going I would have taken them a while ago. Love Outfit but could also go with Gravity’s Gone or Carl Perkins Cadillac.Time for me to switch gears and blow up my theme. I find myself listening to these guys a lot in recent years and this song in particular. I think it succinctly captures growing up in the South. And frankly, I can't believe this band isn't off the board yet so I have to correct that.
Drive by Truckers - Outfit
He’s better in small doses but unfortunately he usually gets about 50%. I do like many of his songs, but yes, his voice can be grating.Patterson's singing can sometimes be a lot for me
Yep, he has easily enough of a well established solo career to be available.I'd expect he is still available.
Ok, glad I asked. I was going to share a story, but I'll wait now. His name was mentioned and I'm not sure about all the forms of spotlighting.I'd expect he is still available.
Nice pick... also one of my favorites from the era. I would have went with Change as its one of my all time favorites. Galaxy is a great tune as well8.01 Mouthful of Cavities, Blind Melon
One of the most underrated bands of their era, they somehow only had one commercial hit with No Rain. All three of their albums have incredible music from top to bottom. Unfortunately, lead singer Shannon Hoon died of a cocaine overdose in 1995.
Maybe the most popular PO'd song ever... Or maybe the most PO'd popular song ever.7.33 You Oughta Know, Alanis Morrissette
Morrissette's breakout hit was her best. That's not to say she didn't have other good music; Jagged Little Pill was a monster album, but this was a cut above the rest. It's still weird to think this song was likely written about Uncle Joey.
Maybe the most popular PO'd song ever... Or maybe the most PO'd popular song ever.
i can think of a few dooziesI've got a good one coming up for that
I had never heard this song and had no idea it was this popular. It's ranked really high on Rolling Stone's most recent Top 500 list.7.14 - Robyn - "Dancing On My Own"
Surprisingly difficult to choose between this and "Call Your Girlfriend". Sweden is a very deep country for my theme and I'm passing up some other favorites, but this didn't fit my theme in the Rolling Stone Top 500 draft so I'll get it in this one.
It came down to choosing between Nicotine and Gravy from Midnite Vultures and Already Dead from Sea Change for me. Those and Odelay are his best three albums IMO.Yep![]()
So many tunes.
I'm partial to the album Sea Change, so may have gone from that.
IT'S ABOUT TIME!
it's about making his significant other feel better, but yeah... that probably does take time.IT'S ABOUT TIME!
One of my life's great regrets is that I lived in Memphis for 3.5 years and somehow never made it to a service at Reverend Al's tabernacle. (I could have ended that sentence with the word "years," by the way.) I was intimidated by what I was told the time commitment would be and couldn't see myself wanting to spend hours in church, but I should have done it.
Sounds like a fascinating deal. You have my rooting interest sewn up. Go Beto!
Glad you enjoyed the game tonight. The Kraken is probably the coolest naming process I can remember. Very democratic and fan-friendly. I hope Seattle embraces the team and they have a long and successful run there in the Pac NW.
My (step) father-in-law is a minister so I've put in time in Black churches over the years. Getting out before kickoff of the late games was my goal.
8.05 Pleasant Street - Tim Buckley
I never really listened to him until after I became obsessed with his son's music. But his catalog is fantastic. Easy to hear where Jeff got his chops. And such a sad story as well.
