THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG! - Music Draft - Saturday Night's Alright for iFighting (1 Viewer)

9- the Cure- A Forest

Another band with so many tunes. Was thinking love song or in-between days, but last time I saw them live was RR HoF in Brooklyn, and iirc they started their set with a forest and killed it. I'm sold.

10.01 But Anyway, Blues Traveler

Not much to say other than this is an extremely fun song.
Whoa. My ex's BF was dating their first manager when we were all in college before they hit. Saw them waaay too many times (all really fun- solid live band). Popper was a really nice dude too. I know I had a series of their demo tapes that blew my college mind, but lost track of them.

Too Much Heaven would have been my other choice. I also like I've Gotta Get a Message To You. Obviously Stayin' Alive is incredible too.

I'm thinking "Lonely Days" - doesn't start "rock-y" but turns that way really well, they had such a mega-career well before the whole disco thing.

Yeah and it's funny because I think most people my age-ish only think of them as a disco era band. I will be honest, it's only been in the last couple years (thanks to people here drafting) that I realized how good they were pre-disco.

"Nights on Broadway" is an epic

9.33 Stay Together for the Kids, Blink 182

A few years ago I probably go with "I Miss You", but having put my son through a divorce in 2016, this song resonates a lot more for me.
I love the version they did on MTV's "Duets" where they teach a kid to play drums with Travis Barker and they both play the song live. The drums sound spectacular. If you can hunt that one down, it's worth a listen.

ilov80s is wondering why this wasn't taken as the first pick of the first round, however.

Put "Dammit 1.01" on my tombstone

LOLZ  :lmao:

ilov stepped up to the plate in the World Series Of Punk and would forever define himself and his fate to the world.

Seriously, I don't often think of Blink without thinking of that, anyway. I was going to draft the Dancing French Liberals of '48 if I had the first pick though, so I got it and get it.

Took a chance on skipping on Helmet earlier (Street Crab is my favorite jam) and thought I'd pick them either in Round 9 or 10, but oh well. I'm not going to pass on these guys:

10.04 D.'s Car Jam / Anxious Mofo - The Minutemen

Double Nickels on the Dime is a Top 10 Album for me. So many great, fun 1-2 minute songs on the album, I debated between a few of my favorites (It's Expected I'm Gone, #1 Hit Song, Political Song for Michael Jackson to Sing, History Lesson Part 2, This Ain't No Picnic) but I decided on the opening song that sets the tone of the album. Figure most of you have heard this album at one time or another but if you haven't, do yourself a favor and give it one listen all the way through - I guarantee you won't get bored and you might get a laugh or two.

P.S. Mike Watt is a legend, George Hurley is one of the more underrated drummers, and RIP D. Boone.

I didn't get the Minutemen until I was much, much older. They were pick number three for me in the punk draft ilov and I are joking about. "Bob Dylan Wrote Propaganda Songs" was the song I picked off of What Makes A Man Start Fires?

Another band I don't think I would have thought of off of the top of my head that I love.

I still stand by it.

I drafted Death Cab for Cutie and Neutral Milk Hotel back-to-back. When it comes to terrible band names, is it even possible to beat that combo?
Definitely unusual. Always liked the Death Cab name. Very emo and able to be shortened to those in the know like I just did. "Death Cab" kind of rolls off of the tongue.

Rd 9: To Love Somebody by BeeGees

They weren't just disco and I just learned there is no "The". That is ridiculous IMO. They should be The BeeGees.

Yes, yes, I   the pick.  Great song selection, too.  I would probably end up with "How Deep Is Your Love," but would consider this, Night Fever, New York Mining Disaster 1941, I Started A Joke...and damn, lots of others.

I heard Lovecats on the radio yesterday and was surprised to realize they hadn't been drafted.
