Did you decide to go see Bill Callahan?
Currently leaning against because we have a show two nights prior. That wouldn't have dissuaded us before 2020 but going out seems like more of an effort these days.
Did you decide to go see Bill Callahan?
Why is that? I would think that more people would be home on the weekends (rather than at work) and would be able to make more picks. In my fantasy league drafts the rounds are finished quicker on a Saturday or Sunday than on any day during the week.
Love this song. If I was a wrestler or baseball player, I think I would want this as walk out music.15 hours ago, Ron Swanson said:
Ok, second pick. Going back to TX. Gotta make up for that ZZ snipe.
Freddie King - Going Down
The King of Texas blues. This is him with the influence of Leon Russell in the early 70’s. Man, what a high energy and simply rockin’ tune.

Oh hell yeah, love this pick. I've picked "Comin from Where I'm From" a couple times in the past.10.x - Anthony Hamilton - Do You Feel Me
one of the great contemporary soul voices, Anthony sounds like a throwback, while also being current. he's one of those guys that could sing the phonebook and it would sound great, but I chose this song because it really leans into the soul. very Otis Redding-like.
I think lots of people treat these things as a diversion from work and mainly do their FBG’ing during work hours. We keep a more leisurely pace over the weekends so these things don’t get in the way of life too much. Why is that? Nah, leave me on skip. I can't be trusted today.I assume we should take you off skip? (It still shows on the sheet.)
Shoulda gone with the Kingpin linkage.10.01 But Anyway, Blues Traveler
Not much to say other than this is an extremely fun song.
Back to @Ilov80s
The guitarist for my 80th round pick hasn’t even been born yet.At this pace, I may be drafting music in the 20th that hasn't been released yet
If someone forced me to name one song as my favorite song of all time I'd have a very hard time coming up with anything else.10.10 Jane’s Addiction Three Days
R.I.P. threads are risky, I got a long timeout for a joke there. I think the person has to be dead at least 100 years to pass the test. Thanks, my man. No, I’ve actually never been in the PSF - I’m pretty apolitical. Made a seemingly innocuous pun/joke in the RIP thread and got zapped for it.
Still too soon, I think.R.I.P. threads are risky, I got a long timeout for a joke there. I think the person has to be dead at least 100 years to pass the test.
Love this song. Was going to take it soon.10.24 - The Sundays - Here's Where the Story Ends
I was going to be the contrarian and pick their first single "Can't Be Sure" but had to admit to myself that "Here's Where the Story Ends" is objectively better.
The band made three records and then vanished into thin air, never to be heard from again. There was a lovely longform piece published a couple of years ago about fandom, nostalgia and the writer's pursuit of the band.

Agree on a great pick - only have listened to the Satanic album - based on the recommendation from the longtime hoofers here - but really dig it.
great, great pic ...love these guys.
I'd pick "Gimme Sympathy"10.20 - Metric - "Stadium Love"
Bit of a sneaky copout pick here, as this is a quintessentially Canadian band, but Emily Haines was born in India so it'll meet my criteria since I've already crossed Canada off the list. Raised in Ontario, but her mother ran a school for underprivileged children in India. Coming up with 20 different countries for songs you actually like is a tough game.
Plenty of other Metric options, and other options with xxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx, but this is a fun one. Any given day, I might say "Twilight Galaxy", "Dead Disco", "Combat Baby", "Synthetica", "Help I'm Alive", "Gold Guns Girls", but I'm feeling this one today.
"Maps" might be the "no brainer" pick, but I don't care I love the song.Round 10.22
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - The Sweets
Off of Show Your Bones, this is my favorite track by them. A deeper cut that begins acoustically and then picks up into an absolute shredder.
Yep. I got two 3 month timeouts for Herman Caine and Rush Limbaugh because I wasnt willing to act like they were saints.R.I.P. threads are risky, I got a long timeout for a joke there. I think the person has to be dead at least 100 years to pass the test.
My favorite Strummer song is "Tony Adams"
Has anyone bothered to @The Dreaded Marco?
nobody wants to deal with that guy ...it's like staring at Medusa ...your picks turn to salt as he takes your breath and leaves you with your (insert your respective "thing" here) in your hands.
Certainly could've used him today.
Yeah, you might be in trouble. All your papers in order?@The Dreaded Marco ...saw you responded with a "thinking guy" emoticon.
my comment was all respect man - you are like the Anton Chigurh of these drafts. You are the executioner, the devastator of precious picks.
better left unseen by you ...and heaven forbid if you ask us to flip a coin.

Legendary Arsenal center-back Tony Adams, who I think (though am not certain) the song is named after.sorry - hate to kill the play there steve - but I don't follow soccer ...who is that guy?
It's been fun, Binky, but - Marco, are you reading this? - I have to distance myself from you now.yes - I am not uncertain.
- been watching too much "Billions"
Never mind. I'm walking on thin ice myself. My recent one was for one of the members of The Gap Band.![]()
I was going to say that decorating comes after Thanksgiving but I honestly forgot you probably don't celebrate the holiday.I'm doing Christmas decorating, skip me
Canadians do celebrate Thanksgiving. They just celebrate it on Columbus Day (or Indigenous Peoples Day, take your pick).I was going to say that decorating comes after Thanksgiving but I honestly forgot you probably don't celebrate the holiday.

I thought they did, but then thought they didn't. Provincialism. Such a sweet vibe.Canadians do celebrate Thanksgiving. They just celebrate it on Columbus Day (or Indigenous Peoples Day, take your pick).
